Eastside Christian School has been such a blessing for our family. The whole environment is truly Christ-centered, you feel it as soon as you walk in. The junior high, high school teacher is such a great Christian role model for the students, both in and out of the classroom. The biblical teaching here is so much stronger than what students get at your church youth groups especially if you attend a small church with less resources. Not sure what will happen in the future when the school gets bigger but the principal has 1:1 meetings with every student to help them choose their courses and college/career paths. It's currently the most affordable Christian private school in OC. If you want a great Christian education that is actually affordable, definitely look into Eastside. read more

We are so grateful that we chose Eastside for our first son. He truly loves going to school and feels happy and secure every day. My child started attending Eastside Christian last year. We were looking for a faith based school that would teach the same values & morals that we were teaching at home. And man did this school deliver!! My child has loved every minute of his school year. He is now ending his 2nd year at Eastside and we couldn't be more excited for him. I transferred my 1st & 4th graders from a public school to Eastside for the current 2023-2024 school year and we've been loving it thus far! Yes, the facility may be a bit old and rusty, but fancy facility was not our priority in choosing which kind of school environment we wanted our kids to grow in. We had toured about 4 different Christian schools around the area and came to a decision with Eastside mostly because of the sincerity, love, and passion we felt from Ms. Sharon and Ms. Sunmin (principal and vp) towards the students and their vision of guiding children to become strong, unique individuals rooted in unwavering Christian values. Teachers and staff members were very welcoming and it seemed like the school had been transforming rapidly under one heart- everyone on a mission to serve God and do His work together. The school also provides various after school enrichment programs currently such as Art, Worship, Basketball, Tutoring, Kendo, Drama, Spelling Bee, Math Olympics, etc. Both my kids love their afterschool art class as well as basketball, worship, and drama! The kids get along well and they grow to learn more about loving one other through God's way, which I appreciate so much especially in today's self-centered, competition-oriented society (and school system). Lastly, I've experienced that at Eastside, teachers, staffs, students and families all come together and hold lots of open communications, prayer meetings, and more. We are like a big family, willing to come together and help one another out, all for the betterment of the school, students, and teachers. I can feel that the staff and admin really care for and love the students at this school. True that the facilities are a bit old and need a bit of improvement but the outward appearance doesn't compare to the quality of relationships and learning experience the students will have here. The students will have a tight-knit community that is like a family, building a life and growing up together. My kid loves going to this school! Too few students to provide any options for electives and extracurricular programs. Building is extremely dirty. When you speak with students and families they are not very happy about the school. My kids have been attending this school for 7years. The teachers are amazing. They love children so much. And my kids love their teachers and the school. During this quarantine, they offered a full time Zoom teachings. The teachers care for each child for their studies and development. They also offer numerous extra curriculums. Eastside Christian School is amazing school! My to be freshman in high-school son has attended this school since 5th grade and I am a joyful mom to see my son growing spiritually and joyfully under influence of Christ-centered teachers and faithful friends. With new principal Reena Kim, school has introduced enhanced academic curriculums and many afterschool programs last year on top of quality Christian education in small classroom size. I am very excited about these new programs, including IPL, STEM and even E-sports classes, because this will definitely broden outlook and insight of student. My son took IPL class last year and he learned to bring his opinion in writing from many different perspective and now he can share his thoughts with family with his own analysis on current social issue. Although my the most appreciated thing about the school is faithful teachers' helping hands, here is another reason to love this school~~~ ++One of my daughter's friend who graduated from the school this year, bragged about that she didn't need to find any help from outside to get her college application and essay done because school put every effort to support her in every way! Eastside Christian School was the reason I dropped out of high school. The teachers are extremely unprofessional and verbally bullied me, by calling me "dumb" or "no one likes you anyway."Walking down their hall ways is like a prison, no windows, never clean and no posters. As an adult when I look back, dropping out of ESC was the best choice I ever made in my life. I am still traumatized from the memories of going to 5th-9th grade there. The school and the teachers will never know the serious harm they caused me in my life. I pray that no child ever has to fear going to school to try and avoid their teachers bullying them. Please if there is any parents thinking of putting their child in this school, I urge you to reconsider. Eastside Christian Preschool took over the Bellflower campus 1.5 years ago. They came in and made changes that were unreasonable. We endured 8 months of construction while the children (toddler through pre-k) attended school in the sanctuary. Meanwhile prices increased and services decreased. During this timeframe the parents were subjected to two tuition increases, lunches were no longer provided, and teachers and parents were forced to provide their own supplies for the preschoolers. Fast forward to September 2018, parents were charged a registration fee of $150 only to be told a month later that the school will be closing at end of November! Now parents are forced to find new accommodations, the awesome staff is out of their long term jobs, and children that have attended this facility since infancy are forced to move on. The business practices of this organization are questionable at best! I would not recommend any of their schools to anyone after this experience. If you're looking for a school that is reliable and trustworthy... please look elsewhere! read more

I went to visit the High School and it was so disappointing.The administration is very Unprofessional. They don't have a lot of kiddos. Enrollment is very low and the building smells like old. The Head of schools is never available. I called last week she never returned my phone call. I definitely do not Recommend this Eastern Christian High School. I have 2 boys, 1 middle and 1 elementary in this school since last Thanksgiving. We think we are so blessed to join this school. When I talk to the Mrs.principal, I can say she has a heart in both good Christians and academically good students. All other teachers also love students very much. After this pandemic situation happened, I worried about academic process for my boys, teachers did their best job through on - line classes. They had so structured time lines for each day with all kinds of subjects including Bible and PE. My boys love their school , too. They have much smaller size of class, so they can build more intimacy with their teachers and friends, so it is a good chance to learn the social and leadership skills. My daughter was having separation anxiety during drop offs, and Miss Heather would take her aside to sit and read with her one-on-one, and it helped extremely.
