What made this experience especially meaningful is that Pastor Tye also officiated my grandmother's memorial service nearly ten years ago. To have him return and help us honor my grandfather brought a beautiful sense of continuity to our family's story. It felt less like hiring a pastor and more like welcoming back someone who already knew our family and genuinely cared for us. From the very beginning, Pastor Tye became far more than the officiant for the service. He became a trusted counselor, coach, and spiritual guide throughout the planning process. Over the course of several weeks, he invested significant time meeting with our family, talking through my grandfather's life, exchanging phone calls, emails, and text messages, and helping us thoughtfully prepare a Celebration of Life that truly reflected the man we were honoring. He listened carefully, asked meaningful questions, and took the time to understand not only what my grandfather accomplished, but who he was. One of the things that stood out most was Pastor Tye's willingness to help us navigate the many moving pieces involved in planning the service. He worked alongside our family through unexpected challenges, offered wise counsel when decisions needed to be made, and consistently brought a calm, steady presence that gave us confidence throughout the process. When the day of the Celebration of Life arrived, Pastor Tye delivered a message that perfectly captured the heart of my grandfather. He honored Roger's unwavering Christian faith, his military service in Vietnam, his lifelong commitment to Alcoholics Anonymous, and the countless men he mentored toward sobriety and a better life. He helped those in attendance understand not only what my grandfather did, but why he lived the way he did. Perhaps what impressed me most was Pastor Tye's ability to balance heartfelt remembrance with joy. While acknowledging the sadness of losing someone we love, he continually reminded everyone that this was a celebration of a life well lived. He naturally wove together Scripture, personal stories, laughter, and moments of reflection that allowed us to grieve, smile, laugh, and celebrate--all within the same service. One detail that deeply touched our family was learning that Pastor Tye still had notes from my grandmother's memorial service nearly ten years earlier, including conversations he had with my grandfather while preparing to honor her life. Being able to thoughtfully connect those memories into my grandfather's service created a beautiful sense of continuity that meant more to our family than words can express. Throughout the entire process, Pastor Tye exemplified what a shepherd should be. He led with humility, wisdom, compassion, and a genuine servant's heart. His love for Christ was evident not only in what he preached but in how he cared for our family before, during, and after the service. Pastor Tye didn't simply tell the story of my grandfather's life--he helped everyone in attendance understand the legacy my grandfather leaves behind. To Pastor Tye, thank you for helping us honor my grandfather with such dignity, authenticity, and grace. Thank you for investing in our family, for faithfully pointing us toward Christ, and for reminding us that while we grieve, we also celebrate the hope we have in Him. Your ministry has now touched two generations of our family, and we will always be grateful. If your family is looking for someone to officiate a funeral, memorial service, or Celebration of Life, I cannot recommend Dr. Tye McClain highly enough. He is far more than an officiant--he is a pastor in the truest sense of the word, a compassionate shepherd who walks alongside families during life's most difficult moments while faithfully pointing them toward hope in Christ.

I'm incredibly proud of him, and I often catch myself admiring qualities in him that remind me I still have things to learn myself. I truly believe so much of that is because of St. Catherine's. To him, it isn't just a school; it's an extension of our family. Knowing he has such a strong support system there gives me confidence that he'll continue to thrive and go far in life. One thing people often misunderstand is the military program. It's not there to reform boys; it's there to teach discipline, structure, sacrifice, accountability, and the value of strong camaraderie. Those are lessons that shape character for a lifetime. SCA has helped mold my brother into someone I genuinely look up to, despite being more than 20 years older than him. You can't put a price on that. He is kind, levelheaded, stoic, devoted, respectful to everyone he meets, and carries himself with a maturity far beyond his years. Those qualities are a reflection of the values that St. Catherine's has helped instill in him, and for that, I will always be grateful.

The dedicated teachers and staff set high academic expectations while helping students develop strong character, leadership skills, discipline, and respect for others. The military-style program encourages responsibility, confidence, and teamwork, while the Catholic values taught each day help students grow spiritually and morally. As a parent, I feel confident knowing my son is receiving a well-rounded education that prepares him for future success both in and out of the classroom. I highly recommend this school to families seeking a nurturing, disciplined, and academically excellent environment for their son.

Ms. Orozco was so patient, warm, and encouraging that she made him feel comfortable right away. Over time, we watched him slowly open up, and before long he was actually excited to go to school. He would come home talking about her and everything he was learning, and it was such a joy to see how much confidence she helped him build. She truly helped him break out of his shell, and we are amazed by how much he learned this year. Ms. Orozco is truly an exceptional teacher. My daughter had Ms. Hernandez and Ms. Tan as she entered 2nd grade, and she was also a little shy because she didn't know anyone. They were so kind and supportive and really encouraged her to make new friends and feel like she belonged. We saw such wonderful growth in her throughout the year, both emotionally and academically, and that means so much to us as parents. It was clear that they truly care about their students and want to see them succeed. We also want to thank the front office staff, who were always great and made communication easy throughout the year. They were helpful, welcoming, and always pleasant to work with. The principal is also very attentive and approachable, which made us feel even more confident in the school. Overall, we are so grateful for the love, support, and dedication shown to our children this year. It was a wonderful first year, and we truly appreciate everyone who played a part in helping our kids grow and feel happy at school. It's been a pleasure watching our kids grow under the tutelage of Ms Cole (and Ms Rokosz) and Ms Villaruel and her aides. Admin staff Ms Bree and Ms Kristine are great as well. One thing that stands out is the emphasis on public speaking and developing self-confidence through a variety of performances, events and daily tasks. Academically, expect your kids to reach higher (national) grade equivalency due to their strong course curriculum. Some things that we've grown to appreciate: - Variety of after school activities - Amazing teachers and staff - Convenient location for pickup/dropoff - Involved community via engaged students and parents - Lunch menu that kids actually look forward to eating - Annual events and performances It's unfortunate reading some of the negative reviews. What I've encountered has been nothing but positive feedback and a tribe of dedicated individuals who truly want to see your child succeed.

The teachers are nurturing, patient, and genuinely invested in each child's growth. They create a warm, loving environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to learn. The balance of building fundamental reading skills, play-based learning, and faith-based education helped prepare both of our children for kindergarten while also fostering kindness and cooperation. We especially appreciate that the school is WASC-accredited as well as NLSA through Lutheran Schools, which reflects its commitment to maintaining high educational standards. The curriculum is thoughtfully chosen and taught, and the communication between teachers and families has always been excellent. Most importantly, our children looked forward to going to school every day. We'd been at iRemnant for 2.5 years and have seen our two children grow up here. They've had some wonderful teachers throughout the years that really loved on our children: Sunny teacher, Moon teacher, Laura teacher, Hyunjoo teacher, Kris teacher, to name a few. And a special shout out to Sunny teacher who even buys birthday presents for the kiddos out of her own pocket :`) Unfortunately, the con's outweighed the pro's for us and we moved my daughter to a different Korean Christian preschool a few months ago. And although this new school is farther and less convenient for us, we are SO happy with our decision. We didn't realize how amazing a preschool could be because we didn't know anything else, so I wanted to share my honest review with all the parents out there who want nothing but the best for our precious children. I'll start with the positives: there's a big, grassy area to play in, lots of bikes and car toys to ride outside, animals on the property, homemade Korean lunches, and many loving teachers. And we are so grateful to have met so many wonderful families at this school. Now onto the negatives... sit tight for this one. 1. There is a high turnover rate of teachers. After Sweet class for ages 2-2.5 in less than a year span, my son had FOUR teacher transitions. Some of the teachers had only stayed for a few months! What also didn't sit right with me is the director didn't even inform us one of his teachers left. She instead had another teacher cover that class and hoped we wouldn't notice? Several parents and I were very upset about that and when I addressed this with director Grace, she blamed the teacher for leaving and didn't take any responsibility for her lack of communication. We all know the reason for a high turnover rate of staff members... and frankly, I don't even blame the teachers for leaving, because they're overworked and underpaid. 2. iRemnant is very profit-oriented. While I understand that childcare is a business, it also feels like the school nickel and dimes the families every chance it gets. For example, there is a supply list for each class and some of the requests are quite ridiculous. They want each student's family to buy color card stock paper that costs $25, aluminum foil, disposable gloves, ziploc bags... things the costly tuition should cover. My husband was especially irked when they asked for ice cream donations from families... something the school can buy for literally $20 for ALL the kiddos. They also ask for mandatory "donations" for things like the Christmas performance for videography and costumes, when they literally recycle costumes every year. It's really not about the money... it's about the principle. Don't say the money you're asking for is one thing when it really isn't... there's no integrity in that and it really bums me out that a Christian preschool does this. PLEASE consider the message you're sending with your actions. 3. There is a lot of sitting down and working on worksheets after the toddler class. At age 2. I don't know about you but I really don't want my two-year-old just sitting and coloring all day. I truly believe kids learn best through play and hands-on learning. I also try to limit screen time for my kids and didn't like how they were exposed to TV before age 2: during meal time setup, worship time (all through screens), and at the end of the day. At 5 PM, they gather all the kids in one room and turn on the screen for them. My son came home talking about all these TV shows and movies he watched, so we started picking up our kids before 5 PM to avoid this. Additionally, I'm really turned off by the fact that the director asks current parents to write positive Yelp reviews once a negative one comes in. How uncomfortable for parents to be put in that position, whose children attend the school and are pressured into writing a positive review. In my book, that's completely unethical (and maybe even against Yelp regulations??). And the amazing teachers you read about in the reviews? Probably not there anymore. I REALLY hope iRemnant can turn things around and use the preschool to BLESS the children and families. How amazing it is to have the privilege of raising these little ones in their mind and character! I write this review to help parents make an informed decision for their children's preschool, and I'm also hoping this may lead to some positive changes at the school.

Also although my girl is only 3 she already is practicing writing her name and learning about so many different things. Also picking up some Korean words here and there which is amazing. She's also enjoying learning to be independent! They encourage that a lot in school which helps me here at home with how she handles tasks. She's getting such an advantage in education and not only with worksheets (which are important) but also through hands on learning and themed weeks So far she's learned about space, traveling, American and Korean culture, important American history, and so much more! Yes she's 3 and has a lot to learn but learning from this early has been so beneficial for her. They do such cute crafts for all the themed holidays which is my favorite keepsakes at home They are constantly having fun with either birthday parties or parties where the parents have the option to help with donating different foods or treats like ice cream and I don't mind donating at all she loves sharing with her class and bringing things for everyone to try She also gets a great nutrition at the school with daily fresh homemade meals and snack. She's not even picky about greens and veggies since she's been exposed and encouraged at school to try new things all the time. The teachers and staff are very kind and know my daughter very well even if they aren't in her class she knows them all by name. She's also had Christmas performances, ballet performances and they also do taekwondo but my daughter was not interested she did get a free trial though Every penny we spend here is worth it and I definitely recommend it. We know how hard work life can be being away from our kids sometimes and I completely trust them to take care of my daughter while I work.
