I come to the Eastside to show my Beastside. But hopefully not my Yeastside. Ew. Easily the best YMCA location in Rochester by a long distance. Right down to the wonderful people working at the front desk. Even though they insisted on calling Buffalo to make sure I was really a member I will give them a free pass because they were just so friendly and a couple of them were super cute. The musician guy at the front desk I was speaking to had a really cool chat with me for a while. Upstairs the weight rooms are better than the other Rochester locations. Everything seems to work okay and I got what I needed out of it. The cardio machines are decent although they don't have the ones that I need. There are still plenty of them and they're not bad at all.

Please watch ya step cuz I'm feelin myself

A1 facility complete with indoor turf arena and awesome pool complex!!!! Fun classes get me pumped and the indoor track is conveniently located over the b ball court to ck out any hoop hotties! This is the best ymca and better than most gyms I've ever been to. This facility is not unlike the Chelsea Piers Sports Complex in Manhattan which sais a lot really. 2 thumbs up! Really likey! *you haftA bring your own towels tho but not a huge deal cuz it's the suburbs and I can easily bring a towel in the my car.

Not sure why it took me so long to do a review but, I love this place. I'm here every week. I get my morning work out in after I drop my son off at their Pre-K class and my 8 month old at the child watch center. The facility is very clean and all of the staff is super friendly. Free coffee and tea throughout the facility. The membership fee is very reasonable. They offer a referral program, 20% off for you and the person who referred you. They also provide a military discount and will do a discount based off your income - they are very flexible. The membership includes child care for up to 2 hrs, pool, sauna, hot tub, work out classes, 2 gyms, a rec center for the teens, an adventure center for the younger kids, a track, sport programs for the kiddos, a nice and clean work out area and they also have a cross fit area - the classes for cross fit cost extra but you can still go and use the equipment if there isn't a class taking place. My son attends their Pre-K and I am so happy I decided to choose the YMCA. After speaking with my other mommy friends, what my son is receiving is way better and cheaper than what my friend's children are receiving. Their programs start at age 2. My son is in the Pre-K program (he's 4) and he loves it there. Every Monday they do yoga, Wednesday is gym and Friday is swim lessons. Their curriculum is basically the same as if they were in kindergarten. They do field trips and have special guests, so far this year they have had a visit from the firemen, a veteran, and a dentist and went to Wickham Farms. All the teachers are amazing and they have a private Facebook page for the parents where they post daily pictures to see what your kiddos are doing for the day. They also offer a discount if you're already a member and I believe they offer a discount based off your income just like they do with the membership. Another great thing about this place is that they do free family events! They will do family movie nights, for Halloween they did pumpkin carving and they had a mermaid for another event. I think they do an event at least once a month. They even offer a "date night", where you drop your kids off at the child watch center for a couple hours for a date night (this costs extra). Great family place with so much to offer!

The Art Stop - Painting from Paul Taylor's Saturday class. Keep in mind, I suck, but he walked us through doing that!

I never really noticed this place before, probably because I wasn't painting at the time. I recently took up, watercolor, and brought all my stuff up here, but needed a few extra supplies. During my first visit, I noticed they had a workshop on that upcoming Saturday, and I eagerly signed up for it. It was an all-day workshop with Paul Taylor, and he was an INCREDIBLE instructor. Even though I had taken classes for three months before we left Texas, I learned so much from him in that one day. The class focused on doing one painting from beginning to end, and you would think an seven hour day would be too much for one painting, but it was absolutely perfect. It allowed us to take our time and allowed time for him to explain every move and assist us as we painted. Now about the shop... What a jewel! It is very well stocked, and had almost everything I needed, except for a couple of paint colors. But to top it off, the owner was working the day I visited, and she was so incredibly helpful. She walked around and helped me find everything I needed, and we had a wonderful visit while I was there. I returned again on another day when a young woman was working, and she was equally as helpful and enjoyable. When we come up here next year, I think I'm going to base our visits around the classes they offer. I would love to take the watercolor class that they offer that goes on for several weeks. If you consider yourself even remotely, creative and artistic, skip Hobby Lobby, and Michaels and support this wonderful local establishment.

During our time at the daycare, I felt that both my son and I were treated differently, and not in a positive way. At the time, my son was not yet fully adopted, and I couldn't help but feel that this may have influenced how we were perceived and treated. As a parent, that was incredibly disheartening. The transition to Jennifer Mehlenleacher & Christine Belykh was also a major factor in our experience. There seemed to be a noticeable decline in overall organization and communication, along with significant staff turnover and ongoing staffing shortages. This created an environment that felt unstable and, at times, concerning. I personally witnessed Jennifer numerous times talked down to her staff humiliating them in front of guests. Which was not uncomfortable for the guests, but it was extremely humiliating for her staff. I chose to wait before writing this review so I could reflect and compare our experience with another daycare. Having now seen what a supportive, well-run environment looks like, I can confidently say that this experience did not meet reasonable expectations. I truly hoped for a much more positive experience, and it's unfortunate that it didn't turn out that way.

3/5 bar area, 2/5 volleyball courts…read more This is a fun concept and is a popular Rochester destination for volleyball. That being said, I feel like the courts are not too well maintained, balls are terrible and old and renting the court for an hour is extremely overpriced for what you get (I have only been on the regular courts, not the sand courts). In regards to the bar area, looks like prices are pretty reasonable there for drinks (they served cider in the cheap milk plastic cups they have in cafeterias though instead of real bar glasses, which was very strange). I tried the cheese pizza which was very decent.

The other night we ordered some appetizers before the game. We had ordered tator tots and guacamole. Tator tots were not bad, could have been cooked a bit more. The guacamole on the other hand was not good at all. Being that we are vegans, We clarified to make sure it was vegan friendly. We were assured it was. Two things went wrong. Hair was discovered in the guacamole not once but twice! That was gross. The second thing is the guacamole was mixed with sour cream. I for one have never heard of guacamole being mixed with sour cream. This is not acceptable especially because it did not indicate on the menu that sour cream would be used. This could be an issue for those who are also allergic to dairy. Be more specific and clarify next time and be more sanitary with the hair in the kitchen. It was disgusting. Will not be ordering food from there again. The waitress we had that evening was friendly and very apologetic too, I appreciated that.
