let me just say the facility is very nice but half there are so many times where the whole center…read moreis closed. I'm sorry but you shouldn't be closing the entire community center for, it's supposed to be open to the publi. The worst thing if you're looking to shoot some hoops, we'll forget about that it's closed almost every day for pickleball or some other stuff. again I'm sorry but the whole court should not be closed off to people just wanting to shoot hope everyday. I came from Irondequoit where there gym was open almost everyday, even when they had events they don't close an ENTIRE, huge double gym, they just say "hey stick to the far right corner hoop" "sure no problem" this is absurd, I pay taxes and can't even do something I love because it's closed 99.9999% of the time. Like I said you don't need to close off the entire gym just tell people to keep it to one particular hoop, I don't need the whole gym, I understand there are events and such but you do not need to close an entire gym for those. Regretting moving here but my lease is up in the summer and hopefully I'll be moving elsewhere and checking with the community center first. Irondequoit was far better I could go there everyday and shoot, sure sometimes they would say "hey come back at 7:00" or most of the time "just stick to whatever hoop they're not using" and I would always ask with the people playing if it was okay. The worst part is there isn't even any other courts near hear. Hopefully the director sees this and can change some things.

Beautiful new community center. Super large gym with high ceilings, an indoor walking track, rooms…read moreavailable for meetings, fitness classes and programing. The library is on the first floor, also completely new space and there's a senior center. All programming and events can be found on the website. The space is beautiful and the staff have been very friendly. Only things missing from this beautiful space is there is no excercise equipment like treadmills or weights for lifting and the gym is so unbelievably hot. They claim there's air conditioning but it feels like it's got to get into the 80s, possibly higher. Everyone despite fitness level is pretty much dripping. It's gross. I hope this do something about the temperature soon. It's open to residents and non residents until labor day with no restrictions, after labor day sounds like for non residents it's $25 for the year to use the facility and for residents it will remain free.

3/5 bar area, 2/5 volleyball courts…read more This is a fun concept and is a popular Rochester destination for volleyball. That being said, I feel like the courts are not too well maintained, balls are terrible and old and renting the court for an hour is extremely overpriced for what you get (I have only been on the regular courts, not the sand courts). In regards to the bar area, looks like prices are pretty reasonable there for drinks (they served cider in the cheap milk plastic cups they have in cafeterias though instead of real bar glasses, which was very strange). I tried the cheese pizza which was very decent.

Great place for people to get together and play volleyball along with having some drinks!…read moreEspecially during the dreary winter months. The other night we ordered some appetizers before the game. We had ordered tator tots and guacamole. Tator tots were not bad, could have been cooked a bit more. The guacamole on the other hand was not good at all. Being that we are vegans, We clarified to make sure it was vegan friendly. We were assured it was. Two things went wrong. Hair was discovered in the guacamole not once but twice! That was gross. The second thing is the guacamole was mixed with sour cream. I for one have never heard of guacamole being mixed with sour cream. This is not acceptable especially because it did not indicate on the menu that sour cream would be used. This could be an issue for those who are also allergic to dairy. Be more specific and clarify next time and be more sanitary with the hair in the kitchen. It was disgusting. Will not be ordering food from there again. The waitress we had that evening was friendly and very apologetic too, I appreciated that.

Conveniently located right off Lyell Ave exit not far from Gates Wegmans. There is a decent parking…read morelot and you will have extra security entering the building going through a metal detector. Cost is $15 and it includes skates while Horizons cost $5. Some of us bought new skates online to avoid wearing used. Once you get over the fact this is an old warehouse and there is no other roller skating rink to go to you become grateful there is somewhere to go to live out your youth . I don't like the metal plates which are part of the flooring as it's not easy to roll over when you travel to and from the rink but the rink itself is fine . It's a decent size to roller skate and it's not overly crowded so it works . Like anything in life it's the perspective and sometimes it's yourself and who you are with that makes or breaks the fun. We had about 10 of us in our party and we had a blast . We went on Thursday night adult night 7-10pm and dj mixed up mostly R&B but told us they would play more 80's when we came back. We plan to go again next month . People skating were smoking and happy .. saw some really good skaters too. This is what I focused on and I'm grateful we have somewhere to go skate among adults every single week is we wanted to. Sadly there are no lockers so plan to bring minimal extras and carry wallet on you. There is a smell of basement or what not but again .. this is only rink we have with adult night so if we focus on the fun we forget the rest ;)

My daughter and her friends really enjoy the fun and safe environment of this skating rink…read more Delicious food, great atmosphere and family friendly.
