Even walking in, we weren't quite sure what to expect. The entrance is small, and you're greeted right away, which was a nice touch. Once inside, it's very dark with deep red lighting--almost like stepping into a cave. It took a moment for our eyes to adjust, but once they did, we immediately felt at ease. The space is cozy and perfectly aligned with its purpose: it's all about the jazz. The service was great--welcoming, attentive, and added to the overall experience without taking away from the music. And the music? Absolutely captivating. It pulls you in and transports you--you can't help but settle into the vibe and just enjoy the moment together. We went on a Monday, so there was plenty of seating, but I noticed there's also a lower level that likely accommodates larger weekend crowds. There's a solid drink menu and a small selection of food, but honestly, this isn't the place you come for a full meal. Come for the drinks, stay for the music, and soak in the atmosphere.

Our first visit was okay, though we found the drinks to be extraordinarily weak. The server was very nice, and the DJ was great. Unfortunately there's not a designated dance floor and it is so brightly lit no one was dancing when we left at 9:30pm. Despite all that we decided to go back, thinking it would be better on NYE... First, we purchased tickets online AND reserved a table for 6 via the website, but when we arrived we were told they oversold and we could only have a high top with 4 stools. STRIKE 1. I made a reservation for 6, not 4. The event said doors open at 4pm with a complimentary buffet between 6-8pm. The buffet was a salad, lasagna, mac and cheese, chicken strips, and a quesadilla--all of which were delicious. Unfortunately, there was ONE bartender and ZERO servers until after 7pm so we had to go to the bar to order a drink. In fact, no one came to take our order at our table until after 8pm. STRIKE 2. The DJ played some great music but kept cranking up the volume to the point that standing shoulder-to-shoulder we couldn't talk to each other. Additionally, because they oversold, we were surrounded on all sides by people standing around, bumping and brushing by us. STRIKE 3. We ended up leaving around 8:45pm because it was painfully loud, no one was dancing because the area where you would expect dancing was full of people standing around, and we had to take turns sitting/standing because our reservation for 6 was not honored. Sadly I cannot recommend this place.

Cool place overall to meet others or hang out with a group. Only complaint is that the drink options felt a little simple. I thought they could do a lot more with easy Asian drink options like soju/sake bombs, highballs, yuzu cocktails, green tea shots, etc. Also food options like onigiri or other Asian snacks could be incorporated. And the glasses while cool with their cup designs felt kinda child like in a sense, and maybe I'm being picky but I haven't had a design like those on my mug since I had a SpongeBob cup I drank milk out of when I was 5. The crowd is what you expect for the name of the place. It's not really a game bar like Bar and Rec or Up Down. It is very tailored to a group of either really young people that remind you of high schoolers or middle age male anime guy archetypes. Nothing wrong with that but just something to expect. Overall I would go back if someone else wanted to play retro Japanese games, but other than that I wouldent see me going in as apart of a bar crawl.

The horsefeather is a must try! The space is really open and caters to the events they host there from time to time. We sat an one of their half circle booths with green velvet which really set the vibe. I ordered the flat iron steak which comes with a delicious cream sauce and an incredible peppercorn rub seasoning. I ordered it medium rare and it came out perfect, very juicy and perfect doneness. I was surprised that it was such a small steak though, easily a 6oz steak. The fingerling potatoes were also truly incredible, soft and seasoned with something that is truly addicting tasting! My partner ordered the fried green tomato sandwich and she had only rave reviews about it. Service was excellent, our server was knowledgeable about the menu and especially the cocktails. They have a sort of small menu but gives one just enough options and I will say definitely something for most everyone.

After we were sat our Server Amelia greeted us with menus and water. We asked for a few minutes to check out the menu, it had changed a bit since we were in the last time. We settled on a Pretzel with cheese to share and a couple cocktails-I cannot remember the name but they were light and very refreshing! My sister and I thought the pretzel was a bit over cooked but the pickles were absolutely amazing, so much so I asked for more-they make them in house, I was told by Amelia. It was pretty chill there. It wasn't too crowded at 3:30 when we went. Service was great and props to Amelia for informing us that 18% gratuity is added automatically because of FIFA. When you leave there is a slide that you can go down to get you to the main level-which is the way I love to go. I gave a 4 star because some of my favorites were taking off the HH Menu(Apps) and the added gratuity(FIFA) service was fantastic

To me this place is as close to nothing as possible. I can honestly rate all three aspects of this alleged food business *zero*. Food: 0, Service: 0, and Ambiance: 0. FAIL, to put it bluntly. And sadly. This place looks like it was used as a film set by a renegade low-budget movie producer many decades ago, and since then, no one has lifted a finger to improve on that impression. Seeing multiple vehicles in the gravel parking lot told me they do have *customers*, and I, being someone who reserves judgment until I have actually visited a place to try for myself (the reviews were quite mixed, to put it politely), so I decided to give Depot Tavern a *chance* for a lunch visit during the noon hour. MY huge mistake! Lesson learned. Well, they chose to *not* give me a chance (of any sort), other than to realize I'd walked into the liquor home of "Go, Brandon!" (as depicted on signage nearby), and they were NOT interested in serving ME in any way--at any time, breakfast, lunch or dinner. I have never witnessed such a sad spectacle of dour-faced individuals (male and female; apparently some were employees, but NONE of the other "humans" in Depot Tavern managed to actually make eye contact with me, no one spoke to me (with the expected simple hello, maybe "welcome new potential customer", etc.)... Hmm! After more than a full minute of being ignored like I was a Black man in a racist 1950s redneck bar that chose to not serve me, and neither any bar patron or the staff there even acknowledging my humanity and presence... I left. I was not scowling like they were, so maybe that disqualified me from being among their clientele. Again, there was zero communication and I was obviously being scrupulously ignored. They must've WANTED me to leave but couldn't muster the courage to say that directly to me. Pitiful. In full fairness, there was a cryptic sign on the door about someone who was apparently recently deceased or otherwise in an unhappy situation... but the trials and tribulations of life (like a customer's death or injury) are IMO better left for other places than for notes how to un-welcome tavern patrons. This is the SADDEST "business" I've ever entered in six decades of some travels in Missouri and elsewhere (even abroad), and upon concluding that they openly disliked me based solely on my appearance (and there's little that's bizarre or freakish about my looks!) and having zero interaction with anyone else, I left, vowing to never return. That will be easy. This joint and the people in it give me the creeps. To me, they look like a bunch of angry criminals. I no longer give half a hoot what they think of me. No one there was adult enough to interact with me on my one and forever-only visit. My guess is, despite its alleged very long existence, it won't be around very much longer. Even if it remains, I wouldn't expect it to be improved at any point. My advice to the owner/mgmt is if you're having a wake, do it before or after hours when Google Business thinks you're "open for business". I'm not used to being discriminated against, but it feels really CREEPY. At least I can take comfort in knowing that I won't repeat that mistake! My final guess is that even if they read this review, they'll never learn from it. (But now I'm being ignorant--like they obviously were too, as it pertains to me.) News Flash: Contempt breeds contempt! Maybe it's time to consider other options. I went to a friendly restaurant across town and spent my money where it's welcomed and appreciated.
