The two desserts we did manage to get were sub par and we threw the moon pie in the trash! We did get a club sandwich and it was yummy. The coffee shop a few doors down became our go to for sweet treats! Don't have "cakery" in your name and not have cake!

We ate lunch around 2:00 p.m. I ordered the Grilled Reuben, and my wife ordered the fried bologna sandwich. Less than an hour after our meal, I developed severe diarrhea, and every time I tried to eat afterward, it became worse. My symptoms lasted for several hours, continuing until about 1:00 a.m. My wife also became sick shortly after me, though her illness wasn't quite as severe as mine. The only other meal we had that day was breakfast at around 7:30 a.m. at a different restaurant in another state, several hours before lunch. While I can't say with absolute certainty what caused our illness, the timing of our symptoms makes us strongly suspect it was related to the food we ate here. Because of this experience, we won't be bringing our family back.

When we entered the tiny dining room, we were greeted by walls covered with hand colored dollar bills. A warm fire was welcome on the chilly morning. The owners quickly seated us and took drink orders. The owner explained that they moved from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. All the food is prepared fresh by hand and authentic. I shared a Crab Cake Po'Boy with hubs. The sandwich was a daily feature and huge. Really huge. And delicious. My brother had the Oyster Po'Boy that I highly recommend. I tasted the large succulent, hand breaded oysters. This is the sandwich that makes you want to make the trip to Gatlinburg. My daughter and SIL had a half Muffalatta sandwich, which was huge and fresh packed with olives, meats, cheese and other good stuff. The kids shared a fish platter which came with a huge fried white fish and home fries. They actually ate their whole plate. The kid's meals are awesome. This is possibly the best cafe in Gatlinburg. The owners make you feel like family, the food is awesome and the dining room is interesting and cozy. We took the trolly into town so we didn't have to deal with parking. Parking is a bear downtown.
