Ride tickets = one coupon $1.50 or a book of ten for $15.00 RIDES by EK Fernandez = there's a mix of rides for the tiny tots to the Screaming Fire Ball - the 360 degree roller-coaster where you go around in circles upside down and hope the Funnel Cake you ate doesn't come flopping out of your gut onto your face. Kiddie rides include the carousel, Magic Maze (hall of mirrors and a slide), Crazy Plane, Helicopter, Super Slide and the speedway (fixed rail car buggys). Other rides for tweens/adults and daring kids include the Zipper, Area 51 UFO ride thing (a slow human centrifuge), the ferris wheel, the jungle twist (like a teacup zippy ride in a car-shaped cart), Pharoah's Fury (like the Pirate ship ride, goes back and forth like a crazy banana) and the Fire Ball! Kiddie Rides are 2 coupons. Pharoah's Fury, Jungle Twist and Ferris Wheel are 3 coupons. Zipper, Area 51 and Fireball are 4 coupon rides. GAMES = Your typical carnival fare, i.e. dull darts aiming at somewhat deflated week-old balloons; knock over milk cans. The only game we "won" at was the fishing for a turtle in a turtle-pond-game for $5 - guaranteed to win a large nubby rubber ball or a plastic helicopter you assemble yourself - no time limit. Great for people who want to win something and not shell out $30 to win a stuffed animal. WHAT WOULD MAKE IT BETTER = a White Elephant or Garage sale type event in the cafeteria including plant sales. So it's inevitable that I'll run into others that I once had class with or teachers I remembered. My family and I enjoy all the rides and games. I finally won 2 huge smurf dolls from playing the challenging milk can game. We try to make an effort to come out to this one since it's so close instead of the 50th state fair, Punahou, Hawaii Kai, and Waimanalo. But I can say that I've been to all and even worked at some way back when. On the other hand, it's can get overly crowded and parking lots around the school, YMCA and Mililani Waena charges a $5 parking fee.. street parking is free if you're lucky. The carnival is currently on this weekend. During the evening and at night I wouldn't recommend bringing a stroller. It's so crowded in the top parking lot that it's such a hassle to walk through. However I can't believe they fit everything on the top lot. Would be nice to have it at the football field but I'm not sure if they would need to stake the nice grass turf.

Everyone agreed this was false advertising. Lots of people were understandably PO'ed. I love support small businesses, but this was so not cool. A friend warned me they were unorganized, and they were correct. Moreover, they said free shuttles from parking lot. They didn't seem to have a designated pick up/drop off point. The workers in hot pink shirts didn't even know how the shuttle system worked. Really?! Also - at around 10:50am, they started letting people park in the closer lot. Why not start people who got here early park in the closer lot and then move to the further lot. Really disorganized here. So irraz! Would not recommend. The outer lot got filled while we were in line, so they diverted us to the dirt lot near the event entrance. After parking, we waited in line for admission, and we finally got in around 11:30 a.m. It was packed, and a lot of vendors had huge lines. This was my first time attending the event, but I thought everything was great. They had a good selection of vendors and a variety of products. The food in the food section wasn't all Disney themed, but of course, I only ate the Disney themed food. LOL! After lunch we went back to shop more. By this time, the lines and the crowds had cleared out. I went back to a few booths that had been busy and crowded before lunch. I was able to buy all the items I wanted. By the end of the day, we bought a lot of things for us and for gifts. I look forward to going to the next event! P.S. If the event organizers read this, it would be great to have more vendors who sell Star Wars and Marvel items. I felt the majority of the vendors only sold Disney and Pixar items.

They have family mochi pounding, a farmers market, cotton candy, home made fruit drinks fresh from their garden, and great music! although the selection of food is not very big, you don't need to have a big selection when everything tastes so great! The home made Oden was unlike any other oden i've eaten and it was probably my favorite one i've had. The Tonjiru (pork based soup with veggies) was full of flavor and this was my kids' personal favorite. The fresh mochi was super soft and came with a variety of flavors like Yaki (shoyu with nori), azuki, kinako (peanut powder), or peanut butter and honey. But the best thing about this event is the family mochi pounding! If you dont get here early though the spots can fill up quickly. But it was great to have my kids try pounding their own fresh mochi from scratch. They all had a lot of fun and we will definitely make this an annual tradition!

On this visit was a challenge and was so sad to see both lots was full and with that overhead that the staff had moved their own car to another location to make room for the shoppers and that there was shuttle service provided by two taxis to take us to the Okinawa Center so we didn't need to walk...how amazing is that! So the man gruffly walks over to the lady to tell her that we cannot sit there. My son follows to hear if we have to move, and that woman flat out denies that she told us we could move there! So RUDE and unorganized!!!!!! We had to move again. And it put a slight damper on the night! Next year we'll choose a different obon to go to besides this one! So parking was a cinch. The event was held at Mililani Mauka Rec 7 and extended over to Mililani Ike parking lot. TIPS for the Next ETS (Eat the Street) at Mililani 1) BEFORE YOU GO! You stand in a line to get your food and then you wait for your food to be cooked. -----Eat the food that you just got while your standing in line for the next food truck your gonna hit up. 4) Be ready for your heart to be broken SEVERAL times. Ahh, this was my first Yelp event that I could attend and participate in. Oh boy, there was no…read moreshortage of food, fun, live music and people. This event reminded me of my daily "visits" to various food truck pods in Portland, Oregon. You could travel the World, gastronomically, at Eat the Street events. Remember to bring cash and maybe some rain gear (another Portland memory)...today, the overcast weather brought sprinkles and as the evening progressed, Mililani Mauka got cooler. I liked that there were shuttles for people to take to and from this event. The neighboring streets were jammed with cars from visitors and residents. Using shuttles also kept the event organized, circulated the attendees and helped to ease traffic congestion. Luckily, I have a relative who lives about 2 blocks away from the recreation center so I got to park there. There were lines of people to all of the trucks and large tented dining areas. I strolled both sides of the street before finally deciding on what I wanted to eat. It was difficult to decide because everything looked and smelled terrific. When I'm in this kind of quandary, I look for something that is either comforting or I don't normally prepare at home. Today, I chose Southern Soul food. I got a BBQ beef brisket Po'Boy for myself and a smoked pork shank plate for my hubby. The portions were huge and the flavors were like it came out from a Texan kitchen. Both the brisket and pork were tender, juicy and packed with "Southern Charm" flavor. Cash only at these trucks...our meals cost around $30. I've been coming here for a few years before the pandemic and it's one my mom and I's favorite…read moreholiday things to do. We don't have to drive far to see Christmas decorations and we can sit on the side walk to watch and enjoy! I'm really glad they came back this year! There's many houses that have decorations in their cul-de-sac on Anapau Pl. It's really nice and enjoyable to see them all. I can't believe all the hard work they put in to set everything up because they enjoy it and they know we all enjoy it. Their show hours are 7-9:30pm and each show lasts about 45 mins with a few mins in between. I wish I remembered how many songs were played but I lost count. It really is enjoyable and I hope everyones gets to experience it at least once! :)
