First time attending the weekend drive-in movie nights…read more Purchased tickets on Eventbrite. Price decent: $20 per movie per car with up to 5 family members. Live music playing on stage 2. First screen was showing one movie, second screen a double feature. I arrived in a truck and was parked in the back fence near the walk-through for the restroom. We could easily see the screen and hear the soundtrack which were blaring through the concert speakers. Mind you, this isn't a HUGE outdoor movie screen. It's a large screen set up on a stage with speakers on each side. A food truck was present til halfway through the first movie. Small concession stand set up in the front building. Bathrooms also in the front building. A little strange walking into the school, but restroom were right inside the building. 3 stalls for women. It would have been nice to have them cleaned before intermission as The floor was littered with TP. All staff were very nice and gave directions to facilities and parking. Overall a pleasant experience, would definitely recommend.

None of my friends knew where this place was, maybe because it wasn't on Yelp? Maybe because no one…read morehad heard of it? The address was confusing because it was listed as 91-1180 Midway Street on Stubhub and Google reviews, the official webpage lists it as 300 Franklin Avenue. If you get lost, just follow the long line of cars heading to the same concert that you're going to. We were headed to see Kaskade play on November 2 and we were just following the cars pulling off Midway into a large field. They charged us $20 to park in a big, dusty, Keawe-thorn strewn lot. My friends were mad that they had to pay $20 after shelling out $68 for the concert, which was in a large field. I told them hey, at least they posted their prices, because I've been to events where the parking attendants are shady as hell and quote you any price they want. I once got ripped off at an Wonderland event, where they said "$35" for parking on a grass field. My friend, who was in another car, got charged $25, so where is the justice in that? For this very reason, I boycott Wonderland Events. I think a much more fair price would have been $10...after all, it is a DIRT field with giant roaches, centipedes, thorns and trash. It appeared as the place had been weed-whacked the day before as there were huge clumps of chopped vegetation every where, logs, rocks and detrius. It was so dusty the dust went right through my sneakers. PAT DOWN: I heard someone say, "women line up" and I was separated from my friends for my very own frisking. I am sure the girl patting all of us up hated the job. She asked me to open my fanny pack and started asking me what was inside my ziplock bag. She picked it up and started to inspect it when I told her it was my "pee stick", you know, so you can pee standing up like a man, coz no way was I going to sit down on those nasty porta-potty seats. She very quickly returned the bag back to me. CONFISCATED: my friend got his cigarettes taken away. Again he was mad, because there were people smoking everywhere at the concert. You can take in a sealed pack, but not an open one. MINI-FLASHLIGHTS come in handy, and I always say this at concerts where there are Porta-Potties. Super duper nasty and dark, so you don't know where, or what, you are stepping on. Also good for using in the parking "lot" to avoid stepping on those large obnoxious roaches. NAKED WOMEN: plenty of them. I've never been to a concert with this many half-naked and nearly-naked women. Perv paradise. SOUND and STAGE: pretty decent. We were able to get pretty close to Kaskade but I don't think in my concert-going years that I had this many people STEP on my foot, shove past and generally be rude about it. Maybe it was because we were squished up toward the front. My friend had a broken toe with a post-op shoe and a crutch. I was worried for him. My concert days in giant fields with cigarette smoke, pora-potties, outrageous parking fees, sweaty arms and bods shoving past, toe-mashers and half-naked to nearly-naked women are slowly coming to an end. I'd probably repeat this scenario only if my favorite band Above and Beyond came around again, but they would probably have a classier getup.

We always have a great time at the annual Pumpkin Festival at Aloun Farms!…read more This year, they had great rides from E.K. Fernandez, including a Ferris Wheel! We had a blast. They also had the free hayride, entertainment, the pumpkin patch, sunflower patch, pony rides, and more! I love that they partner with organizations for great giveaways. My hubby won 2 RT airline tickets to anywhere Southwest flies on the mainland by winning a watermelon eating contest! Woop woop! They also had really cute staged areas for photo taking, tons of food vendors, a farmer's market, etc. You can't go wrong when there's something for everyone to do. Highly recommend checking this place out for Halloween time. Bring boots and plenty of water and sunscreen - it's hot out there, but always fun.

The decorations were cute and festive, and the staff we interacted with were all friendly and welcoming. It was definitely crowded and a bit overwhelming, so we only stayed for about an hour. It was also really hot, which made it tough for both us and our dog. We walked around, grabbed some food, checked out the sunflowers and pumpkin patch, and then stopped by the farmers market store before heading out. The store service was quick, but one moment stood out. A young boy was trying his best to help us and do the math for our items when another staff member suddenly took over and told him, "You're going to the side. You're way too slow." It felt a little uncomfortable to witness, since the boy was clearly trying his best. I understand things can get busy, but it just didn't feel right to scold him in front of customers. Despite that, the festival itself was fun, the food and produce were great, and it's always nice to see local families and pets enjoying the day. We'll probably go again, maybe earlier in the morning next time when it's less crowded and cooler.

Check out the side of the house to see Santa waving in the window. ::The family that just keeps on giving:: I can see a bump up on the electricity bill when the holiday season comes around. But can you imagine the bill for this family? It must be cray, cray! Instead of asking donations to help pay their electricity bills. This family decides to donate 100% of the proceeds to a charity. In front of the house is a Make-A -Wish mail box which you can put your donation in. All the proceeds go to the Make a Wish Foundation HAWAII chapter. If you decide to write a check write it out to the Make A Wish Foundation Hawaii Chapter. If your in the neighborhood do make it a point to see this amazing light show. It will surely wow anyone of any age.

So this was the first year that I decided to check out this highly talked about event and boy was I…read moredisappointed. First of all it's a one day event and only lasts 2 1/2 hours. Come on people...don't you think that snow coming to our island deserves more than one day? Second, not only is it a one day, highly anticipated event but it's also free! WHO don't like FREE!? Don't you think that everybody and they mama is gonna show up? Even more reason for it to last more than a day, or at least more than 2 1/2 hours. So here I am thinking I'm gonna see a whole parking lot full of snow with all the happy keiki making snow angels and having snow ball fights... instead I see a mountain of snow the size of the Hawaiian Ice truck being used to create it! I was in shock...are you kidding me this is what the whole island came here for? So disappointing. I continue to walk around the small gate surrounding the mountain of snow to find an entrance and what do I see? A line as long as the eye can see! As we decide that this is so not worth standing in that line I over hear a worker telling the people in line that they may not have their turn in the snow. WHAT!!! I thought. These poor kids are standing in this outrageous line in the hot sun patiently waiting for their 15 minutes (yes 15 literal minutes) for their time in the snow, and they might be turned away? I couldn't believe my ears. As I'm walking away I hear the MC talking over the speaker telling the next group of kids being let in that one of the rules are that they can't throw snow balls. Where is the fun in this? I understand that this is a free event, which is awesome, but really what is the point if the kids can't have fun? In my opinion not worth the time and possible disappointment of the little ones not being able to touch the snow at all.

As I tried talking to my self out of the stress, I came up with a theory that organizer had probably did not anticipated the large amount of people came. 2.5 hours holding this event did not accommodated the large crowd. There are long lines on most tents. We left an hour after, kinda run out of patient. Not as organize as I expected it to be. Would've been great. Parking was ridiculous crazy as there's still people shopping for Black Friday. I just hope it was held on different week. I hope next year will be a lot better.
