The inside bar/brewery/seating area is cozy, tables adorned with lamps made from old ten pin bowling pins, a games area upstairs as well as other board games to master at your tables while you drink. The bar itself has plenty of taps meaning they can have plenty of rotating beers on show and also keep a decent bottle list for dine-in or takeaway too. And of course this leads me to their beer, I was already a fan before I arrived but Bacchus put out some really creative & interesting craft beers, meaning you'll more than likely find something to drink whether you're a beer snob, beer n00b or non-beer drinker (everyone has to try the Lamington Dark Ale, the nose alone will sweep you away to Lamington-land :p).

A joke of a punishment for the crime. On video you can see this sick man speed up in a Audi, intentionally, to hit a child on a bike on the side of the road out of traffic. He proceeds to scream at the child, while the child pleaded for his life. I hope karma does her magic. Even more concerning is how Mr. Wright seemed to justify his actions by blaming the child's bike as "illegal," rather than genuinely acknowledging the danger and illegality his own driving posed. I expect higher ethical standards and community responsibility from anyone at the helm of a hospitality business. While the restaurant itself may serve somewhat average food or drinks, I personally cannot support an establishment whose leadership shows such disregard for safety and empathy--especially when a young child's wellbeing is at stake. Until clear accountability and genuine remorse are demonstrated, I'll be dining elsewhere. If you care about patronizing businesses that reflect your values, I would encourage you to consider taking your money and support elsewhere, too. The experience at these venues sucked before these events occurred too, every other option nearby provide a way better experience. Terrible for family photos. Terrible lighting

You wont find your typical dynamic in this place Kitty Kat, although you will find lots of colour and characters to suit and that included the owners and their staff. Disgusted by the security, I have a traditional facial tattoo and have been to this venue many times in the past. Last night I was in line had my ID photo taken then a picture ready to walk in only to be pulled aside by the security guard I was told no facial tattoos are allowed. He said I need to cover it up if I want to come in, but why should I cover up something that I am proud of, I explained this was cultural only to be told the owners couldn't give a shit if it is a cultural or traditional tattoo so you are not coming in uncovered. Meanwhile my family members were inside I rang them told them the story and they said to me that there were a couple of Caucasian people with facial tattoos one with stars on the side of the face and another with writing, how were these people allowed to go inside, I never pull the racist card but in this situation I call RACISM & PREJUDICE. Meanwhile there was a person a few people ahead of me with a rose pattern on the side of his head to face fully visible, how can this not be called RACIST. Either follow your own rules and have that apply to EVERYONE not just people of COLOUR, train your staff better especially with CULTURE AWARENESS, maybe supply band aid's or makeup for the people who actually want to hide their tattoo and lastly be consistent. I can guarantee I will never step foot in this venue again and I will make it know to as many people as I can to avoid this venue so they don't go through a racist situation like I did. read more

Without fail from lunchtime and into the evening there are hoards of tired, hungry and thirsty individuals packing out the place for cheap pub feeds and drink specials. I have been there with a couple of mates for dinner and my hats off to the chef for being able to maintain a high lever of food. I do only order the steak, salad and chips but it's worth more than what I shell out. This doesn't matter because the remainder of my money is always spent on cheap drink specials they have. In six months I hope this place is still going when the Northern Busway is completed, but I wouldn't be surprised that the owners pack up and leave because of the major change they would have made over the past year.

Well, I can't say that it is one of those trendy inner-city pubs where all the hip and cool people hang out, but it isn't a bad pub, even if it is because of its old style frontage (I like those old style pub frontages). Seriously, it is basically your typical, everyday, suburban pub with a pokies room, sports bar, and restaurant (though it doesn't have a beer garden). Oh, I should mention that the staff were really cool, so if you do like in the area I do recommend it (but then you probably already know about the place anyway).

My decision making process and gourmet options went down the drain as I decided I couldn't go past such a bargain. It was very enjoyable sitting, enjoying my food as the wind howled outside and the clouds threatened to pour down. The sliders were super disappointing, all super dry. If we hadn't ordered those we would have needed another shared plate to compensate. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked good, I wish we had tried the prawns instead. There were a lot of comments on GOOGLE about poor service, but we thought it was good service with a friendly staff and the food was sent out super quick. Greaser's shtick is, well, a 50s American greaser bar. Think of the kind of place James Dean and the Fonz would have a beverage. It also serves greasy (hehe) American food like fried chicken, burgers, fries and hot dogs. Greaser's front bar area is not a creepy dungeon at all, and quite elegant and cosy under the dim lighting. Between all of us, my group of friends ordered everything off the menu. I ordered the fried chicken. The coating was KFC-like but with interesting spices in it - I think it may have been dukkah. Unlike KFC, I didn't feel sadness and regrets afterwards - it was really delicious. Our meals came with onion-y "red eye" gravy and smoked chipotle mayonnaise, which I quickly became addicted to and mopped up with chips. There's a few interesting beers on tap but I had the special that night - whisky with freshly-made apple juice, straight from the juicer. PLUS the bar played some fun rockabilly and 80s tunes that got us chair-dancing over our burgers. Greaser is pretty cool. I hope they hold events and gigs in the future because it's a rad little space.

Serves generally American food and drinks? Check. Craft beer? Check. Much edgier barstaff than you are? Check? Down an alley? Check. Johnny Cash on the stereo? Check and check. I wanted to go because I wanted to try it but with some recent rock bottom experiences with other bars in this vein I kept expectations set to low. There is nothing particularly original about Greasers. American food stopped being a revelation a while ago, and frankly is starting to grate a little. Bloody Marys and Picklebacks are having a real moment right now so people are slinging them at you anywhere you go. And craft beer? You can now actually get it with breakfast some places. The fact that these are everywhere does not in any way diminish their appeal. I like burgers, I love bloody marys, and I enjoy brine more than is entirely reasonable. And these offerings are made all the more appealing by Greaser. The space itself is lovely with ample couch seating and booths, elegantly low lighting that isn't seedy and the mid-century music that is curated rather than cloying. Special mention must be made of the staff. During our visit they were uniformly incredibly polite, attentive and very very pleasant to deal with. Knowledgeable about the drinks behind them and able to mix an excellent cocktail. These are the sort of staff we should see more of and who should be clutched like rare diamonds by bar owners. Special shout to the woman with the tattoos and undercut. She mixed what is easily the best bloody mary I've had in Brisbane. Served on bourbon with plenty of hot sauce, this was living and this was living well. Greaser also has a top flight tequila selection which is really great to see. It's wonderful that more places are experimenting with tequila and incorporating it into more than shots, which is a really barbaric way to treat a drink of such complexity. One of our group hailed from Mexico City so this was a blessed relief. My ex is Mexican and nothing says 'Australians are completely clueless about soft racism' than taking someone's national drink and letting bogans punch it until they fall over Here the reposada is served in appropriate glassware and all is good. The troubles with on-trend establishments are just like the troubles of any other establishment, poor staff, wrong price point, sub-par offerings etc. The problem is when a venue is also tricked up there can be a gloss over it that keeps people coming back for no particularly great reason other than to be seen to enjoy themselves. Greaser suffers for none of this. This is a bar that is serious about being a bar. All venues need an edge. But as more and more venues in Brisbane slide from creative to kitsch it is deeply refreshing to see a venue like Greaser that maintains an interesting point but does it with a laser like focus on great service, great décor, great drinks and great food. It's a real credit to the group behind this venture. I'll be back. A lot.

It's a work in progress as it's not finished, but regardless of the simple decor its got a funky vibe. The outside deck has a food truck docking bay where the Red Robin supper truck was parked. It's a great concept for a bar, put a loading bay where any food truck can drive into and then serve food. I'm assuming different trucks will be there at times but at this stage it's just the Red Robin. There are hay bales and milk crates to cater for those who can't get a seat at one of the tables. There is a great selection of beers on top including Sierra Nevada and a Watermelon from goatbeer. It's already getting a cult following from the Morningside locals. Definitely worth a visit!
