Had the pleasure of doing a cooking class there with my girlfriend but it ended up being a surprise party. Cori was amazing and was very accommodating to our rowdy group. The class instructions was very clear and the food was great. Recommend this for a fun night out.

On February 23rd, 2025 I attended the Pasta Making class at Eatz with Chef Cori and Sous Chef after being signed up by Renaissance Club. I was so excited I've always wanted to make pasta and I thought it's so complicated and that you need all these extra tools to hang the pasta and flatten the pasta so I never tried. Well, taking this class was so fun, and showed me that you don't need anything fancy, all you need is your ingredients, a rolling pin, and a cutting board! We made Tricolore Bruschetta with tomatoes, The pasta dough, Cheese Ravioli with Marina Sauce, and Linguini with Pink sauce. All while cooking there are bottles of wine that you can refill as many times as you want which definitely added to the fun! I think my favorite was making the ravioli! How fun it was to make the dough thin, and then to put the dallops of cheese and then cut them into little circles or squares. They were so delicious and perfect and didn't take much time to cook in the pot of water! The best thing is that after the class, the recipes are sent to you so you can recreate the recipes at home! The only thing that I must say about the experience, is that since I was alone, and signed up by Renaissance club, I was paired with someone else from Renaissance club who I have never met before. I was very cognizant of how many times my partner touched her hair or her clothes and then touched the food being prepared, and I didn't want to make an enemy to say anything about this so I didn't. The bathrooms are not close so you have to walk far to wash the hands. The saving grace is that the food is being boiled so killing all the germs, so I was ok and was able to enjoy. Basically it's best to sign up with someone you know and trust to cook with or get lucky to be at a station alone! The good thing is that there is enough ingredients and enough time to where both people are able to chop or smash or roll so nobody feels left out and everyone can participate equally. Also, I didn't realize this, so I ate everything LOL, but you can get to go boxes to take food home. So I got super full when I really could have saved some for later. Hahaha! I had so much fun and I would love to sign up for more classes, I've already got my eye on several! Cannot wait to do this again!

Attended a cooking class for a boys night out in DTLA where we made honey whiskey infused dishes: shrimp, steak and chopped Brussels. I'm typically skeptical of cooking classes but we genuinely had a fun time and even learned some new cooking techniques and best practices. It was in cool loft space in DTLA and we felt safe to be as dramatic and crazy as black queer men. Also didn't hurt that it was a BYOB experience )with flat rate cost for a private class), so we enjoyed ourselves.

We attended the One Night in Bangkok class. We loved it! Chef Cori was awesome, we got great vibes from her. She's a true professional and knows her stuff! Very helpful and made it easy to learn. Everything we were taught was surprisingly easy to make and so delicious! We definitely recommend taking a class and or giving a gift card to friends and family. We can't wait for the next one!

Honestly, 2 stars is me being generous. Went for a private event focused on "Indian food." The location is super sketchy, parking is easy, but there's broken glass and trash littering the streets around it. Once inside the space is cool, but the 2 instructors we had were not very charismatic. The Indian food recipes were far from authentic (they used coconut milk instead of cream, had tofu as the vegetarian protein option instead of chickpeas or lentils, and added spices at the end of the recipe instead of at the beginning). The cooking tools were at times broken and difficult to use, and many of their cooking techniques were just wrong (e.g., how to cook rice). They are generous with how much food they let everyone have, and they do let you pack up the food to go which is nice (though I had no desire to eat any more of mine..) Their time management of running the class was also poor. We went for a class at 7pm and didn't eat till after 9. Everyone was so hungry that they started eating while standing at their cooking stations. Oh and the unlimited wine they offer? It's Viñas Chilenas Reserva, a cheap 5 dollar Trader Joes wine. I looked on the website and it says classes are over 100 dollars. I wouldn't come back even if this was a 35-40 dollar experience however. I've been to much better, and cheaper, classes elsewhere.

Great great experience at the EATZ cooking class! I booked the cooking with tequila class with a group of girls and it was such a fun class. Our instructor was very chill and knowledgeable. I cook a lot of Asian food at home so it was cool going a little outside my comfort zone. We were sipping on never ending tequila cocktails which in hindsight might be a dangerous move but luckily we made it out with all our digits attached and some leftover food to take home. Location is a little sketch and if you're ubering, I would recommend waiting inside the building for the Uber driver to arrive.

My first time going to a cooking class before and one of my friends has been to this Eatz one and decided that we should all go and try it out. We had a private one where everyone in the class knew each other there were about ten people. Each party of two would share a small camping stove where you will have pots to cook on. The class that we decided to pick was a Whiskey class which uses whiskey in the dishes. We made: 1. Whiskey shrimp flambee 2. Whiskey glaze Brussels 3. Rib-eye with whiskey mushroom cream sauce While we are cooking the dishes we also got to learn how to make a real old fashion and what the history behind the old school drink was about! I learned a lot from this class and would say that if you aren't a chef or know how to cook, don't be afraid because anyone can learn how they do their instructions. It was fun and just a side note that if you are allergic to any ingredients, you should let them know before the class so they can substitute things for you!

Went for the cooking with tequila class with Chef Cori and Sous Chef Mayra and had an absolute hoot. The class format is one giant table with two people per station and each station has their own utensils and burner. You first start off with Margaritas, which were absolutely delicious, but be warned before you come to eat something light to soak up the goodness. The class was at 7:00 pm and I usually eat at 5:30 or 6:00, so in hind sight it's a good idea to have a little something in case you're an early eater. They do start on time so give them a heads up if running late. Chef Cori was great and even made us a quick hibiscus simple syrup to add to the top since there happened be some in the pantry. Very yummy. Chef Cori went over some knife skills with us and we started chopping. We help cut up items for our steaks so they could start marinating. Then after that we started working on our ceviche. We had to let the fish cook a little in the lime so we set that to the side. The next part was my absolute favorite which is Queso Fundido. It's like cheese fondue (for those that haven't had it before). Typically I've seen it cooked with chorizo, but this time we cooked it with habanero and jalapenos. Honestly it was some of the best queso fundido I've had, and it's cool to know I made it! They gave us tortilla chips and we could ask for more if we needed/wanted more. With our fish now ready we started chopping the rest of our veggies and assemble our ceviche. I loved that it was customizable it was because we're cooking it. For dessert we had flambeed bananas which was the first time I ever flambeed something. It was served along with some ice cream and was a great way to end the evening. Final points, yes the parking is a little sketch, it's downtown LA. But once you're inside the building is neat and the space is huge. It's a fun class to learn basics and interact. We had all levels of experience in the room along with different ages but we all just had a good time. Definitely looking forward to the next one.

I took an EATZ class with my husband for a date night. The experience was very fun and we met a lot of great people that night. The cooking class we chose was One Night in Bangkok- we were excited to learn how to make Thai food as it is one of our favorites. We made spring rolls, a lemongrass coconut soup and chicken and shrimp pad Thai. Overall, I'd rate the food we made a 2/5. I'm not an expert on Thai cuisine but the flavors and ingredients did not seem authentic to me. For example, we used mushrooms for pad Thai and I don't think I've ever had it that way. The noodles were also different to me. Anyway, I would try another class, but perhaps I'd pick the make pasta from scratch class.

if you are looking for a cooking class, this is the one! We learned, we laughed, we danced, we celebrated, and more importantly, made the most exquisite meal! Cori is an excellent instructor and chef! Myra makes a great contribution to the team and she helped us keep everything in order. I appreciated every minute of this experience. I can't wait to take another class!

AS LA OPENS BACK UP: Rose and her team put together a really wonderful in-person event for my company last night. WOW. What an INCREDIBLE way to return back to in-person events!! Honestly, I can't think of a better event to bring a group together - it's such a unique and fun class. Yesterday was the perfect LA day, and all of the dining and most of the cooking is done outdoors. Her and her team adhered to all of the necessary COVID protocols, and my whole group felt incredibly safe being at her home. All of her staff is fully vaccinated, and there were masks worn and plenty of hand sanitizers. I know that I can always trust her to help me put on a great event. We will continue to work with her for many more years to come. Also, this should be a given, but her recipes are ALWAYS delicious. When we do in-person cooking classes with her, a lot of the ingredients come straight from her backyard. Rose is also very accommodating for vegans, vegetarians, and any other dietary restrictions/allergies. She knows how to make everyone feel welcomed and part of a team. The class structure made it hard to learn honestly. instead of cooking step by step together, all instructions were given at once and we were left to cook independently, which was overwhelming and difficult to remember details like which ingredients to add/when, how long to cook things for and proper technique, especially for beginners. A power outage that required sharing burners added to the disorganization. We were also surprised to be required to share ingredients (including raw meat) with someone we didn't know across from us, which felt awkward for an expensive date experience. There was no clear wrap up at the end, and people began eating and leaving without much direction. Again our chef was great, and we enjoyed the stories and history behind the dishes, but overall the cooking lesson experience didn't match the cost or the hands on learning we were expecting.

Teachers are fantastic and patient, especially with new students. Most of the classes are paired off in groups which means individual instruction and supervision is minimal so unless you're looking for something more formal with extremely tailored feedback, a private session is likely better versus a group setting. Other Comments: this was likely a one-off incident, but at a class I attended. I was disappointed with the assistant (Stephanie). As the class was winding down and desserts were being handed, for some reason, she served herself and ate before completing distribution so there were several attendees who didn't receive their desserts (which they paid for!). It was bizarre and unprofessional, which was weird given that she had been helpful and attentive throughout the class so I don't know what happened. She also seemed not to have budgeted well and hadn't purchased enough ingredients, especially for the dessert, which may be another reason for why we ran out so fast at this particular class.

I am still an amateur at making sourdough with my regular sourdough starter and when I saw this offered through Renaissance club who signed me up I was excited to learn what I'm doing wrong. Well, this class didn't teach me about how to make my current breads better, but instead taught me about the world of wheat that I've never really understood and how to make a good wheat bread which actually seems easier to do than my regular starter bread. If you take the class you'll understand the whole gluten thing and reason for needing to knead more with one versus only gentle folds with the other! I follow a girl on Instagram who used a countertop mill to mill einkorn and I always thought that's too much work and I didn't think it's something I could do. In this class I got to see the countertop mills first hand and how easy they are to use, I got to see the differences between the white or red grains and I got to taste the different bread examples fresh out of the oven! Not only that, but we were all given a portion of wheat starter to take home! I am really excited about this because as I'm getting older, proper nutrition without added chemicals and additives is becoming more important to me. Right now the dough we made in class is sitting in a bowl rising and I am just so excited to put it in the oven later and see how my very first wheat bread will come out!
