I have been to this wonderful shop twice and both visits had been very positive. The entire staff which include the chefs and assistants are all very friendly, very welcoming, and treats you very warmly as if you're a real member of the family. I always feel at home whenever I come in and literally crash in their kitchen. There's a mini store by the entrance where you can purchase novelty items such as cookbooks, kitchen wares, condiments, but most importantly, products made from scratch by the amazing chefs. At the back of the store is a big kitchen where all the action happens. This is area is used for cooking classes and reception area whenever a private event is held. The kitchen looks exactly what you see on the Food Network Channel. It has racks and shelves full of utensils, cook wares, condiments, and just everything you need in preparing a meal. You can view a virtual tour of this place on their website http://www.theblvdkitchen.com/ Cooking and baking classes are offered for both young and adults. Please go to their website for schedule, rates and other useful information. You should check it out!

We used BLVD kitchen for our organizations quarterly staff social. I appreciated that they were very responsive when setting up the event. We had a mixology class with Darrell Wash. He was really funny and made really good drinks. I appreciated his little stories and anecdotes. Thank you so much for having us!

Came here for a company team event and I really enjoyed my time. This is a great venue to have a lot of team interactions. At most team events you are seated and have the opportunity to only speak to a select few. This was not the case at BLVD Kitchen. We were first introduced with treats such as truffle pretzels and white or red wine and many of us were standing around speaking in a very open setting. Second, the chef spoke to us about the different dishes we were going to prepare and had us self select into the dishes we wanted to cook. All the recipes were very simple so no one needed to be a Michelin rated chef. You can also test the food while cooking which was fun especially if you have extra cheese. The staff came around often and helped out based on the needs of each of the team. I think the staff did most of the heavy lifting but it was more by choice since our team was eating and drinking more than cooking. haha The meal turned out very well and will be using the recipes soon since it was very easy to prep. Thank you BLVD Kitchen for a great time.

I found the BLVD class as a birthday present for my daughter, who loves cooking. I booked the Sunday Brunch for both my daughters. They absolutely loved it! They had fun and made some amazing dishes. They brought home what they made and it was delicious! They kept saying how nice everyone was and what a good time they had. We will definitely be taking more classes at Blvd Kitchen

My prediction is, BLVD KITCHEN is going to be around for a very long time!!! Sharon, (owner) is refreshing, delightful and Loves what she does daily in her own Paradise! I was in such a happy mood the whole time our cooking class was in session. The Chef, Lance Toro is an unbelievable instructor..."I got it!!! Please checkout the future classes and find out for yourself what a delightful experience you too can have. Truly and sincerely Marlene Nordberg

My partner and I took this cooking class as a date experience. While our chef was truly wonderful,…read morekind, welcoming, and very professional, the overall class didn't meet our expectations for the price. The class structure made it hard to learn honestly. instead of cooking step by step together, all instructions were given at once and we were left to cook independently, which was overwhelming and difficult to remember details like which ingredients to add/when, how long to cook things for and proper technique, especially for beginners. A power outage that required sharing burners added to the disorganization. We were also surprised to be required to share ingredients (including raw meat) with someone we didn't know across from us, which felt awkward for an expensive date experience. There was no clear wrap up at the end, and people began eating and leaving without much direction. Again our chef was great, and we enjoyed the stories and history behind the dishes, but overall the cooking lesson experience didn't match the cost or the hands on learning we were expecting.

Did you know macarons are gluten-free?…read more I took a macaron making class at The Gourmandise School, and it was quite fun & informative. Seeing the process on how those delectable treats are made, gave a greater appreciation each time I wolf one down. Clemence was a great instructor, patient with newbies, explaining things simply & gracefully. I thought creating the unique fillings would be the most daunting task, but they came out great. Located on the 3rd floor of Santa Monica Place, the classes at The Gourmandise School are the perfect opportunity for those intimidated by pastry-making & cooking. I had an absolute blast, and recommend everyone scheduling a future class at The Gourmandise School.

Rose is the event organizer and everyone met at her house at 10 AM. After a warm reception and a quick introduction, we quickly split into different teams and I was assigned to the Creamy White Bean and Fennel Casserole station. The staff was very helpful and I just simply followed staff's instructions. Everyone pretty much finished the cooking by 12 PM and we were able to enjoy fruits of our labor! *** Menu *** * Roasted Beef Tenderloin and Chicken Stuffed with Mixed Herb Pesto * Arugula Salad with Candied Pine Nuts and Parmesan Dressing * Roasted Broccoli with Pumpkin Seeds, Pecorino and Gremolata * Creamy White Bean and Fennel Casserole * Lemon Souffle Cake with Macerated Mixed Berries Personally I liked arugula salad the best and my least favorite dish was lemon souffle cake (too sweet). Rose even emailed a digital copy of the recipe to everyone the following week! Overall it was a great team building experience and we also did a murder mystery right after our lunch (different company - not related to LA Food Works).

Chef Marc was an absolute delight. The vibe was warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The class framework was thoughtful, engaging, and incredibly well-executed. What truly sets this class apart is the attention to detail. Every aspect of the experience was immaculate, from the clear directions to the venue (complete with a contact number), to the interior setup, comfortable room temperature, and beautifully presented stations. The kitchen tools were high quality, ingredients were neatly laid out with laminated table cards, and even the table settings were on point. And as someone who comes from both an operations and creative background, I have to say: Chef Marc's recipe template is hands-down the best I've seen from any chef-led class. Every detail felt intentional and appreciated, no stone left unturned. Bravo, Chef Marc! This class deserves a standing ovation.

First and foremost, I have not one sewing bone in my body, and sadly my grandmother is long gone as that was her niche. My pre teen had been asking for years to learn how to sew and I finally stumbled upon Miss Shannon's class when a few moms from a mom group I'm a part of recommended her classes. From the start, Miss Shannon has been nothing but welcoming. You need to email her to get class info as you aren't able to schedule classes online. I like that though because it's nice to actually talk with the owner and ask any questions you might have. My daughter has had Bella as her instructor for a few months now and my daughter just loves her. We do bring our own sewing machine because my daughter also uses hers at home and it's nice to really learn the machine you'll be working with. They do have sewing machines there for your kids to use though. The first class they teach you how to use the machine, how to thread it, how to make a bobbin, etc, and you will make a cute little pillow. The second class I believe the kids make a tote bag, the class after that project is completed you'll make a pair of pajama pants, and the class after that project is completed you'll make a heavy duty sewing bag, which was my daughters favorite project because she's able to fit her sewing machine and other materials in that bag to bring to class. You will need to bring your own fabric for the tote bags and pajama pants and any other projects you have moving forward. Right now my daughter has been enjoying making different shirts in class. We get the patterns off of Etsy and the projects are completed in class. I saw one student was making a cute little romper. My daughter looks forward to going to class every week and loves Miss Shannon and Bella. They create such a great working environment and aren't afraid to nix any negative energies, which I really appreciate. It's important for these kids to work in a positive environment where their creativity can flow. These two truly care about kids and teaching the art of sewing to the next generation. Right now it is $38 for a two hour class. Payment info is posted inside the shop, or you can ask Miss Shannon directly. Venmo is the preferred method. There is street parking and there is a lot behind the shop, but I've never parked there so I'm not sure if that's a lot for customers or not. These are also drop off classes as the shop inside is pretty small so it's really only big enough to seat the students. I will park my car out in front and read for a couple of hours instead of going home and coming back. I also really appreciate that they lock the doors during class, which is added security for everyone. If your child wants to learn how to sew or wants a safe space to work on their sewing projects, this is the right place for you to be.
