There is a large framing studio in the back and while I was there a customer came in and the owner spent time working with them. It didn't take long to know she knew what she was doing and had tears of experience. The store is filled with cards, awesome gifts and kitschy items. I was in one of my happy places. Off Center has some really amazing locally created art and art pieces. Ruth Ann, who owns Off Center is not only a creative visionary and jack of all trades, but she's a genuinely nice person. All the staff is friendly and creative. They offer several art classes for children, which they really seem to enjoy. This place is a great resource for art and creativity, and a little retail therapy.

I purchased a small mosaic piece that I dearly love. You can find just about any item that paint will stick to, candles, jewelry, lots of mosaic art (not on stepping stones or concrete, but designed to sparkle in windows or in your living room), teeny-tiny hanging vases for epiphytes, etc. Most items are small enough to carry to your car. The young woman who was working the day I was there chased me down after I left because I'd forgotten my debit card. That was really nice because she had to run out into the pouring rain to find me. Lots of breakables on multiple levels from the floor up to shelves about 6 feet high. Aisles are rather narrow. If you bring your kids here....don't bring your kids here, unless they are well-trained or swaddled. People requiring canes should be very cautious; not accessible to those in walkers, wheelchairs or strollers. If door is locked, knock on window, as staff locks door when s/he is in the back room.
