As a couple in our upper 80s, we love the IRL facility of the UIHC system. Many people ask us if we…read morewill move to be closer to our family, and we say, "Absolutely Not!" We have the best healthcare in the USA right here in Iowa City, and at our age, this is the highest priority. We especially appreciate the blood drawing staff at the IRL Laboratory. They are the best anywhere in the UIHC system. We appreciate the main hospital staff who are willing to come to the clinics of IRL. A huge thank you to the entire IRL staff.

I can't even describe as a parent how nice it is to have amazing healthcare available to my kids…read more Not everyone in the state of Iowa can say the same. Not only that, but to live minutes away from this location is a Godsend-- as I do NOT have to go to the main hospital for them to get the care they need. (Eek, I get the heebie-jeebies just thinking about navigating the parking and elevators.) Additionally, there is free parking at the IRL location. The staff is friendly here. The doctors are top notch. The building itself is well maintained and updated. I love the art throughout, as well. Absolutely no complaints. The fam popped in for flu shots and COVID boosters a few weeks ago (which I conveniently booked online via My Chart) and we got in with a minimal wait. The nurse was wonderful. Going to the doctor isn't always painless-- but this location helps make it more so.

I wouldnt recommend going to this clinic my experience has been horrible and it seems the people at…read morethe front desk do not understand or you can't understand them. I could go on but they have been the worst of my experience

I called to ask if they provide a cervix dilator before their IUD procedures. I was told by the…read morereceptionist, "The nurse said they will not give you any narcotics just because you asked for them, because the IUD shouldn't be that painful anyway." If you are a woman considering an IUD, and you have not had a baby before, do not go to this clinic. If you are planning to use this clinic, and you have questions about the pain of this procedure, do not ask. They will assume you are drug seeking. I had my first IUD done at Robert A Mesropian Center for Community Care, in New Hampshire. Because of my size and the fact that I have never had a child, they wanted me to use a dilator the night before the procedure. I didn't know, and I didn't apply the pill until the next morning. When they put the IUD in, I was in so much pain that I threw up, and I cramped for the rest of the day. I wasn't given any narcotics from that doctor though, and there's no reason why I would expect that a new doctor would give any narcotics. But, it seems that they also don't offer any dilator's before the procedure, and this is what I wanted to get clear on. Based on my last experience, I would be too afraid to do the procedure without a dilator. Given my past experience, it's reasonable why I would be overwhelmed as I prepare to have the old IUD removed and a new one put in. It's unfortunate that the receptionist is more concerned with trying to "out" potential drug seekers than answering the questions of prospective patients. When it comes to smaller, more personal clinics, the most important thing is feeling safe as a patient. I would never be able to feel safe to share my concerns at this clinic, so there would never be a reason for me to ever go here. Anyone with similar feelings or concerns should also avoid this clinic. Planned Parenthood was much more helpful and supportive on the phone. They do not offer dilator's before their IUD procedures, but it was really easy for me to get that information. They were very kind and understanding as I explained my situation. I may just go back to New Hampshire to have it done. I will also say that I told the receptionist that I would get a recommendation from the doctor who did my first one, in order to verify how unusual my IUD experience was. I don't even think the receptionist heard me. She literally just repeated that the procedure shouldn't be that painful. I don't even know if this clinic offers dilators before the procedure, to be honest. They very well might! So, it really just speaks to the importance of professionalism on the part of the front desk.

I had to make a visit to this QuickCare location a couple of weeks ago due to a bad cold…read more I made an appointment online the night before. To save even more time I completed my check-in online the morning of my appointment. My wait wasn't too long at all on a Saturday afternoon. There was just one other person ahead of me. I was seen by an NP. She was super friendly and took the time to explain things to me, even though I just had a cold. She knew I wasn't feeling well based on my initial exam and overall appearance. Unfortunately she couldn't prescribe anything because what I had was a virus. She told me if I wasn't better in 10 days (from the time my symptoms first began) to return to QuickCare. Sure enough, on day 8 of my cold I felt almost 100% better. The NP advised me that I was one of about a dozen patients she had seen that day with the same symptoms. Spring and Summer colds are the worst. Clean waiting room and exam room(s). Ample parking because of its location in a strip mall. In and out in less than 1 hour. Definitely recommend.

Stopped in because of no insurance, two Doctors saw him; one just to introduce herself, the other to give him the test. Thanks U of I for grabbing all you could get.
