The absolute best plumber in the area, hands down: goes above and beyond, utterly professional and extremely competent and experienced! We had a plumbing emergency at 5pm on a Sunday that burst a pipe and flooded our office/through the ceiling of the garage beneath. Jim Ebner not only came out THAT EVENING to zone off the leak and ensure we did not go without heat and water for the night, but returned first thing the next morning and repaired the leak immediately. I cannot possibly say enough good things about this company. I will never go anywhere else for my plumbing/heating needs and neither should you. Ebner has provided plumbing and gas service to my home, my parents home and my grandparents home for at least 40 years, if not longer. They're awesome. The person on the phone was very pleasant as was Jim. They arrived on time and knocked out the job that included: removal and installation of 3 toilets, 3 vanities and replace a section of pipe that comes out of the wall for the shower head. Their price was also very reasonable for the amount of time they were here (9am - 1 or 2pm) Jim and Matt got the walk-through with who I assumed were Matt's sons being taught the trade. That was cool. My only gripe was that when I innocently asked about them taking away the old vanities, Matt abruptly said, "we're not garbage men." That really threw me off as it was a really rude response to a very innocent question. When I initially called them, I'd mentioned that we would need the old stuff taken away. Somewhere between that initial call and their arrival date, that part was apparently forgotten. After a few minutes to collect my thoughts, I said to Matt, "I never assumed you were garbage men. I've never worked with you before so I don't know how you guys work and what you're willing to do. It was cool afterward. They offered to take the pedestal sink and the toilets with them, then removed the drawers from the other two vanities and left them neatly on the side of the garage. Matt talked me through another minor complication which required me to return one toilet and pick up a replacement while they were still there working. All ended up working out very well though, as I found someone in the region who wanted both of the discarded vanities. read more

I needed to have a new water heater installed. I went to one of the Big Box Stores in the area and looked at what they had to offer price-wise. I wasn't impressed. I had called a local appliance repairman who serviced our dryer last year (I was very happy with his service but he does not do plumbing work) and recommended W&J Ebner. I got a quote over the phone that was less than what the box stores wanted. Two workers showed up the following morning (on time) and had the old water heater out and the new one installed in under 90 minutes! They knew what they were doing and the installation went on without any problems. I was VERY satisfied with the quality of the work done. I do believe it's very important to try to give work to local businesses whenever I can. It's nice to know that I have a local plumber who is fair and reasonable in case I ever need one again. I have been using W&J Ebner for years. They are a local plumbing company from days gone by.... honest, hard working, fast and consistently fair with their prices. This is really rare to find when other plumbing companies look at the size of your house or the watch you are wearing to determine how much they should over charge you. They just replaced a well pump and did a great job. I had company at the house and they had the well pump done in a few hours while we were out and fixed the boiler for my hot water supply. read more

It is next to impossible to actually speak to someone. In order to request service or repairs you must leave a message on an answering machine and hope that your message is heard at some point over the course of the day. The owner is rude and uses foul language with no consideration of those surrounding him. We've used him for years and sadly his rude behavior has always been the case. Our heat went out in the middle of a snowstorm a couple of winters ago. Not only was he rude when he took our call but he also was rude in our home rather than just telling us he was not available during the storm to do the job. Just yesterday our heat went out again. Although it is spring, we wanted our furnace repaired because the inside temperature of our home was very uncomfortable and our children had been home from school sick. On the phone my husband was cursed at, told he did not need heat in June, and told to find another plumber. What does he care what time of year it is. I can't imagine how he behaves with new customers if this is how he treats customers who have used him over the years! And it certainly is not the way to ensure return business! So much for staying loyal to a local business!!!! read more

Ebner was hired to install an LP conversion kit in a new LG gas dryer. He worked on trying to open the back panel of the dryer for about 30 minutes. He was unable to open the panel to install the conversion kit. He got extremely frustrated and walked out and told me that I purchased a piece of junk. He happens to be the usher at the mass we attend every Sunday morning. So if he treats parishioners this way, how will he treat you? read more
