I've used O'Reilly's for many years off and on when I need something. It seems like the caliber of…read moreemployees has really gone to basically people that know absolutely nothing about how to fix simple things. This evening in particular I went in to ask for a couple things. First of all the guy was on the phone about trying to get his shift covered or something. He was a young guy probably in his twenties. I was going to walking around like "gee I need help". There was a nice young gal also very young. She asked if she could help. I needed some exhaust manifold studs. I told her there were some on the shelf but I'm not sure if they would fit as there were different thread sizes. She looked something up with the computer and said they can't order them nor can they see what size are in that car. The guy came over to try to help and he did nothing but act like I know it all in front of her but had no clue. He was saying that I needed to take one of these out and bring it in. I told him that's a pretty big deal when you're taking the exhaust manifold off Just to see what size. He was kind of argumentative. I pondered around a little bit looking for what I needed and couldn't find it. I went to the desk to have them look up the exhaust header and they told me it couldn't be ordered. I was striking out. I tried to explain to this arrogant kid at the computer how I was going to flush the power steering fluid. He pointed me to a hand pump siphon. I told him that would not work to get all of the fluid out of the actual pump, but sure it could take some fluid out of the reservoir. I basically explained to him how this is done. You jack the car up so there's no wait on the front wheels You unhook the output hose of the pump to a bucket on the ground or a coffee can sort of thing. As you slowly turn the wheel the pump spits out the old fluid. He couldn't understand this and look something up on the internet which was some bozo in his garage that obviously was not a mechanic. He was definitely arguing and talking about things he had no clue about. I would much more appreciate somebody telling me they don't know about something than to BS their way through it. He clearly was overconfident and pretending like he knew something. It was very annoying.

I've been remiss. In August 2024 my son's 2013 Prius was having some trouble with the hybrid…read moresystem. I assumed it was the hybrid better as the symptoms were similar to those of my 2007 hybrid Camry. Greentec replace that battery and did a great job (so this is two reviews in one). So, I called Greentec and they said if I could get it the Prius over to them right away they make sure to stay open for me. So I limped it over and they spent about a half hour running diagnostics and came up with the problem being the, and I forget the exact name, hybrid version of the alternator. The tech thought for a moment and said that he could swear he saw a bulletin on this part. A few minutes later he found the bulletin and it turns out the part was included in an extended warranty. He said I'd need to bring it to the dealer to have the work done which we did. It was covered 100%. Although I offered, Greentec refused any payment. They could have at the least charged a diagnostic fee or even just done the replacement without me being any the wiser. The next time I have any issues with my hybrid system I'm just heading to Greentec. They're capable and honest. Oh, and when they replaced the battery in my Camry they had the best price out of the three or four quotes that I got. This is for the Greentec in Clearwater Florida.

OMG, what a great place to get a hybrid or EV battery. When I first called, Heidi answered, a real…read moreperson, no automation with a changed menu. We discussed my 2015 Honda Civic Hybrid and they had the battery, even on sale. Neither Tampa Honda, nor any local Honda dealer, could not even get one, and if they could it was over $4000. This was $1750 on sale with a reasonable installation charge, even mobile service. The tech, Derek, spoke with me on a Friday and advised me not to drive to their place cuz I had a red battery light on the dash when I started the car, meaning it was draining my 12 volt battery. Tampa Honda NEVER told me that, in fact, said I'd be ok driving and it would not really affect the functioning of the car, just not as smooth and less gas mileage. I didn't even like driving it anymore. Derek came by Monday morning and did some diagnostic testing, installed the battery, and everything is fine now, all the lights are off and no bad codes. Hopefully, I won't need another battery down the road, but if I do, I hope Greentec is still around.
