These lovely senior volunteers are extremely friendly and respectful. They treat you like individuals and can tell they care a great deal. They also connect people with other low income services like The Salvation Army or Social Services. I use this place when I am in need and it has definitely helped me be able to get access to healthy foods when I can't afford it.

The facility is so clean and the cats have plenty of space to roam and cat sit by their bay window to breathe in the fresh air. They welcome anyone to come by to just sit and play with the kittens and the other cats who are waiting for their forever home. I love to visit and get my cat fix, it's great therapy for anyone who wants to be one with the kitties. If you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or foster, the friendly staff is so helpful and will be able tio answer any questions you may have. Even though I give food to lots of local food drives, I would not have made the trip over to the Food Bank myself without a little extra impetus! The Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo has just changed its name to the San Luis Obispo County Food Bank. They are located on Kendall Road, across from the airport, and will take direct donations. We had a bunch of dry soups near their expiration date, and packaged them all up in a box and took them over. They were happy to give us a short tour, and we were surprised to see that they are in a big warehouse space. Our "guide" told us that they feed 30,000 individuals in SLO per month. I also read an article in the New Times that stated that they are looking for a new director. Our donation weighed in at 27 pounds. We got a receipt, and felt good for taking the drive over to the Food Bank.

We ended up not getting a door, but we did buy a couple mirrors and the rolltop desk in the Photos the manager Quinton was super helpful And is always willing to make a deal. Please note that this place is open even though Apple Maps says it is closed...... Get in there and get some cool things for your house!! Better values will not be found elsewhere!
