This venue is absolutely breathtaking. You must consider this and go out check it out for yourself…read more Not only is the space stunning with a rustic barn and plenty of options for the ceremony setting, but the staff is incredibly helpful. Jeff, Brad and Christina were always available to answer any questions we had leading up until our day. They went above and beyond to assist with unexpected needs and were always around to orchestrate the entire day/evening. Jeff even pulled me aside during the reception to give me a heads up that the sun was setting and the clouds were turning a pretty pink... I was able to grab the photographer just in time! We are more than pleased with how well everything turned out and our guests loved the place! While its a bit off the grid and out in the country, it's perfect for those looking for a peaceful place that almost has a destination feel to the event without the cost of a destination wedding. We used Nameless Catering for the food and did their BBQ option. Also an excellent choice and they know their way around the venue well. As far as accommodations in Shelbyville go, I would strongly recommend the Holiday Inn. Even though its on the pricey side for the area, its the cleanest and their breakfast buffet is outstanding! I had family that stayed across the road at the Comfort Inn and the place smelled funky and the breakfast was very basic and not fresh.

I had the privilege recently of being a guest at my best friend's wedding held here and I wanted to share my thoughts. This venue is absolutely beautiful. The owners are more than flexible when it comes to satisfying the bride and groom's needs not only leading up to the wedding, but also the day of. I know how important it was for the bride to have an intimate ceremony and they were able to accommodate by offering a quaint area near the creek for a much more quiet and romantic moment. I specifically remember during the ceremony that there was a light breeze during the vows and everything was so calm and gorgeous as the leaves in the trees blew quietly. UGH so beautiful! After the short, perfect ceremony, we went into the main barn onsite for the reception. Everything was set up perfectly and the owners and coordinator made sure everything was to the newlyweds liking. I don't think I saw them rest all night! The grounds are manicured to perfection and I know they spray for mosquitoes quite often as well. I believe they are open to working with numerous vendors and are very communicative during the process as you plan your wedding. I know that I accompanied the bride to the venue a few times in the months leading up to the wedding for her to get a better look for decor as well as checking out the bridal suite. You guys...this bridal suite area that they've provided is to die for. A full length (more like floor-to-ceiling) mirror that they have for the bride and bridal party is more than enough along with individual makeup stations so that each gal has her own space. There's a couch as well as private Wifi info available. The bridal suite along with the groomsmen suite is air conditioned and comes with a private bathroom with shower so that you can get ready and take your time if you want to. They have everything you need for a perfect wedding/event and your guests will notice the extra care that's been put in to the venue. But you do have to hurry, they book up fast! :)

As one of my sister's brides maids I had to calm her down and try to get her to relax on top of that the owner made the catering staff very uncomfortable and very upset. Then Ms. Meal felt it necessary to call the bride the morning of the wedding and make changes to the plans that were in the contract. Then Ms. Meal made false and defamatory accusations against our catering staff and made them very uncomfortable. At approximately 1 hour before the wedding Mr. Meal found it necessary to approach me and discuss the issues his wife created and informed me there would be extra charges. After talking with other venues after this debacle we were informed this is a normal thing for Honey Creek Haven and others like them. My suggestion for anyone seriously considering this place make sure you dot your "I's" and cross your "T's", their contract is very vague and they use this to try and make extra money on you. Have to give them a thumbs down . And for all the nay sayers I have the proof to back up my accusations. Feel free to reach out and I will give details and proof if desired. As for the end My daughter had the wedding day she desired but as for me, the father of the bride, it was a horrible day for me and I did not enjoy it at all. Thanks Honey Creek Haven!

I had heard of Fletcher Place food pantry, but I didn't realize how much this location offers. Check it out: 1. Thrift store. People can come and shop around the store to score clothes, shoes, and household items for free. All clothes have been donated from the community and are sorted in the basement by volunteers. Clothing in the store is nice and any stained clothing is given to Salvation Army. Anything the Salvation Army can't use is given to a company in Canada that turns them into rags. Nothing is wasted and the thrift store staff says that their goal is for people to leave feeling better about themselves. That's why the store is so clean, organized, and friendly. 2. Preschool. There are two preschool classrooms for kids. Not only do they receive education, but teachers will pick out clothing from the thrift store for the children if they are not adequately dressed. Children then get to keep the clothes. There is also a large library that allows students to choose books from (to keep) each week. 3. Kitchen. The top floor has a large multi-purpose room that is often used for meals. Churches come in every day and donate food and cooking ability. No one is ever turned down from receiving food. An average of 120 people are fed every meal. The facility is super nice and always clean- but only with the help of volunteers. The building is also very secure and they always have plenty for volunteers to do. They also have an e-mail newsletter they send out about volunteer opportunities. *There is a big Christmas event in which you take families "shopping" throughout the building to get all necessities and Christmas presents. Very cool. They're looking for help* Check this place out if you've never been. They're doing great things!

Bring your clothes, blankets, shoes here, where they will be given away to people that really really need them. They also operate a free food pantry so you can bring food items for needy families. My wife is a Girl Scout troop leader and they often come here to volunteer, sorting food items and helping to sort and display other donations.
