I loved my first apartment at echo lake it was a newer two bedroom apartment. I was there around 7-8 months into a year lease and I was driven out by extremely loud neighbors. After complaining to management several times with no improvement I asked if I could move and luckily was able to get a one bedroom with a view of the lake which is beautiful to see every day and had a nice deck. I had to move as they notified me I was due for a rent increase which I couldn't afford so I had no choice but to leave. The parking was going to be raised as well. I do miss it there but it's a large corporate complex and has its share of garbage issues late night fire alarms difficult parking. Just a little of my experience. read more

While we initially had a somewhat positive experience, there were a few issues worth noting: * Very frequent fire alarms (sometimes late at night). Whether they were false alarms or not, having to evacuate at 11 PM on multiple occasions can be stressful and inconvenient, especially for pet owners or older residents. * The clubhouse is only open when the leasing office is open, something we only learned after moving in. This makes it difficult to use for evening or weekend gatherings. * The community has a nice open lawn, which was one of the reasons we initially liked the property. Unfortunately, over time we often noticed dog waste issues on the lawn and other areas. * There is no maintenance support on weekends, which can become a problem if something breaks late on a Friday. Aside from these inconveniences, our overall living experience was not bad. The neighborhood is nice and there are many convenience stores within walking distance. Considering the price range, the appliances and amenities are basic but acceptable. However, our move-out experience unfortunately changed our impression significantly. We specifically planned and adjusted both of our work schedules to be present for the pre-move-out inspection, and the inspection was conducted when the unit was already completely empty, as we intentionally vacated the unit before the inspection. My wife was present during the walkthrough, and no concerns about carpet damage were mentioned at that time. (We initially did not receive a copy of the inspection notes, but after following up we were able to obtain them later.) After that inspection, it took about two weeks for the property manager to send the move-out statement. During that time we followed up and were told the statement was still being reviewed, and no details were shared by email. When the statement finally arrived, it included a $650 charge for carpet replacement due to alleged dog urine, even though this issue was never mentioned during the inspection. This was surprising given that the inspection took place in an empty unit on a bright day when any such issue should have been identified. Additionally, the carpeted area had been fully covered with our own rugs throughout our tenancy, which made the claim even more unexpected. Fortunately, we had taken detailed photos and videos on move-out day documenting the condition of the apartment and the carpet. It's disappointing to see significant charges appear after move-out despite a clean pre-move-out inspection and without supporting documentation. I would strongly recommend that future residents carefully document the condition of their unit during move-in and move-out and request written confirmation of inspection findings. read more

Predatory leasing staff lies to your face. I was lied to twice by the leasing staff. When I first toured the apartment I asked about the noise because I have children and don't want to bother my neighbors. I was told that they never got complaints about noise from children and that I had nothing to worry about. Within our first 2 weeks we got a daytime noise complaint because of my kids. Ok. So I asked if we could get on a waitlist for a ground unit and switch so we wouldn't bother our downstairs neighbors. They said yes. A ground unit opens up and then they tell me they I can't switch!! I'm only switching because you lied in the first place! If you are a single person who's barely at home and can tell when people are intentionally misleading you, then maybe this is the place for you. Lived in these apartments for over 5 years. Had to deal with a terrible mold problem in a 2 bedroom. Moved to another apartment same building and had a awful Ant problem after being in that apartment 2 weeks. You can hear your neighbors like they are in another room of your apartment. Security is not good, people constantly leave entrance door open to move in. Parking is horrible, not a good choice to live there read more

Cost are fair my apartment is decent. There are scratches on all of the floor boards and the blinds are very flimsy and break easily but I love my balcony. My neighbors are quiet and respectful. The gym and pool are nice. The hallways smell like pee or mildew every now and then and someone lets their dog go potty on the stairs which isn't the apartments fault but still nasty. Area is not the best but not terrible. You get your occasional tweeker but that's just Seattle I suppose. Management and office workers are very nice. Even though they clean frequently I just feel like the hallways and stairwells could smell better they sometimes over power the smell with this lemon smelling air freshener. Over all it's ok I just wish I had chosen to live in a nicer area like Bellevue or Edmonds. The apartment is cheep though so I save money. read more

Living here is OK, convenient to public transport. Staff is improving and working problems. Garbage collection rooms are usually a mess, burnt out lights, garbage shut is plugged because of large objects blocking, therefor not opening. Recycle bins are filled by empty unflattened boxes. Gagging just thinking about it. The elevator was highly tempermental and stalled daily so you had to wait for Maintenance to come and fix it. Even that didn't always work. There is Zero guest parking. You have to park a block away. They tow you if you park in their lot. Maintenance never shows up when you report problems. Would give 0 stars if I could. Was lied to repeatedly by the leasing agent and then gas-lighted when I complained about it. The only good thing is that I was able to get a refund on my deposit. Not wasting too much energy going into too much detail because this place isn't worth it. Highlights: - One of the buildings I looked at stank of trash and cigarettes. - You get to live right next to "The Rat's Nest"! I recommend staying away from this apartment complex unless you're desperate. It's permanently filthy. I lived here for a year and every other week the elevator was down and there are no stairs to the top floor from the main entrance. Besides that, people let their dogs piss in the elevator, and a few drunks do it as well.The garbage collection for building two is a joke, so is the maintenance. Management went through three building and office managers in a year. Also, if you want to park near your building good luck! No space at building two, and you'll get towed! My initial review is three years old and after living here for 6 years (in my 7th now), I haven't left. While rent has increased, I'm OK with how things have evolved. The property where the apartments sit was subdivided and the Echo Lake Apartments are under separate property management from the Blakley. The new management staff are responsive and the maintenance team was largely retained from the previous company. My opinions of this apartment complex have changed for the good. While parking can be atrocious for visitors, I find the paid parking OK and a bit on the narrow side. My apartment is fine and the issue with fire alarms all hours of the day was resolved. In the time I spent in my apartment, I've had other maintenance issues. While the fan in my previous posting eventually burned up, maintenance quickly replaced the motor. read more

Beware! This place is crazy bad!!! On the answering machine, the outgoing message states that they offer "brand new" apartments. The apartments are NOT new. People have been renting them for some time.,,and you won't find a "new" one in the complex. This is your first warning. A blatant lie, right out of the gate.. That is just the beginning of the ruse that is Echo Lake "Village". BTW It's not a "village"..by any stretch of the imagination. It's a typical complex and it's nothing special nor unique. The parking is ridiculous. Almost all the "free" spots are full; even in the middle of the day. When you come home after work, there are rarely any available. Good luck having some guests come to visit. There is no street parking unless one wants to walk a considerable distance. It's especially nice on a dark sideways-rain winter night. "Welcome home!" Oh. One can buy a parking space. Because of tight spaces and beaucoup pillars, it will be a challenge to squeeze into one. You will be blocked-in if the others don't park correctly. (They don't.) The parking spots were $50.00...then jacked-up to $70.00...now, $75.00. They can raise prices whenever they choose...and that is often. The ads say dogs are welcome. After you agree to the lease...they have the right to review it. At that point, you are informed that there is a $400.00 deposit for your dog. Surprise! The utilities for which you will be responsible are not divulged until you get the novella of a lease form. Then, you find that you even pay for water. Unheard of! If you decide you want to back out because of the "surprise pet fee", etc., you lose your $200.00 deposit. They drag out your approval, demanding all these forms, and then won't return your deposit because more than three days have passed. If you mention that they took longer than three days to approve you, you are informed of some obscure Washington State Law that allows them to rip-you-off. Also, they won't let you use a Credit Card for your deposit. Only Money Orders or checks are accepted. (They "hammer" the checks immediately.) This is so you have no recourse to get you money back. You are basically told "Too Bad!" and to "Go jump in the lake!". They DO offer a small dock that goes about 10 feet into the lake. However, you can't use it to "go jump in the lake", because there is a railing blocking you. Brilliant! When you arrive home, or leave your apartment, you will be greeted by dirty hallways that reek of Marijuana and Tobacco. It's awful because there is no ventilation in the hallways and the fowl odors saturate the carpets and walls. Not to mention the garbage that tenants put outside their doors. Enjoy! The lease form that you are to sign is 54 pages in length. You are basically signing-up for a year long prison sentence. You can't change to a better apartment that may become available until your year sentence is complete. By then, you'll be running for the hills or dead from the off-gassing that is evident the minute one enters any apartment. They don't use Low Volatile Off-Gassing Chemical (Low VOC) Paint and the cheap carpets are giving off fumes that will probably kill your pet. The studios have miniscule balconies and the sliding glass door is the only way to get any ventilation. You can't get cross ventilation and you don't want to open the door to the hall to allow that stench to flow in. You'll be trapped in a chemical soup. Good luck, if you have allergies or are chemically sensitive. Headaches are gratis! So...do you want to go live in the fake "village"? Think it over. read more

We have lived here for almost a year now (counting down the days till the lease is up) and I would not recommend this place to anyone! Yes the apartments have brand new modern interiors, and the pool area is nice, but let me tell you what this place is really like... The hallways are either filthy or have an incredibly horrible smell coming from the garbage room. People leave there over sized trash in the halls, my floor smells like pot and cigarettes, and there was a whole week that went by were the lights did not work which made it pitch black. Don't even think about cooking anything because there is little to no circulation with the one window you get in your bedroom and the sliding glass door in your living room , unless you want the fire alarm to go off! It's not just any firm alarm either, it sounds like the loudest ear piercing house alarm you've ever heard, lights start flashing everyone has to evacuate and the only way it ends is with a visit from the fire dept. This happens a lot, and normally at really inconvenient hours. I don't even know where to start about how terrible the parking is, they just don't have enough! If you want to spend, $50 per month then you are stuck trying to fit into tiny parking spots that have giant pillars next to them which you are pretty much guaranteed to hit and leave horrible bright yellow scrapes on your car. Oh, and forget about getting in and out of your spot if all of the cars are not pulled all of the way into their spot, you will be stuck! Most apts will at least pay for water, not here. Not only do you pay for your normal utilities, you also pay for water, garbage, and sewage. And it has to be payed no later than the third day of the month otherwise you get a warning notice on your door! Lived here recently and although the amenities are great and the apartments are luxury style with nice appliances and everything... I would not live here again unless they changed a lot of things. First problem with this place is the LACK of parking. This is in no way an understatement either. If you want, you can pay $75 per vehicle to park in the parking garage, PER MONTH. Or you can risk trying to find a parking spot. However, about 1/3 of the parking lot is designated for the hair salon that is in the bottom of the building next to Highway 99. The salon owner there watches the camera to make sure that residents don't park in their spots. There is never anyone there and they will tow you immediately! My girlfriend and I lived here for a year and on our 1st month of living there we were both towed at the same time when we parked in two of their sports to move our stuff in. The most difficult place to move into period. They don't have a service elevator, just slim stairs from the parking garage, and a small elevator in the lobby. Riddle me this, how do you fit a king sized bed (let alone a Queen sized bed) into a small elevator? Impossible! Had to struggle it up 4 flights of stairs with my gf and I. Terrible experience! Very loud, very expensive, and no where to park. The three worst things you could wish for in finding a new apartment. The only reason I have given 2 stars is because the apartments are very nice! I also really liked the pool, and how beautiful the property was by the lake. Other than that, I would not want to live here ever again. I totally would sacrifice on the quality of the apartment in order to have better parking and less noise. That would never happen here though. The property is WAY too small. We have lived here since October, and we love it! It's a great place to live! The apartments are beautiful inside and the buildings are attractive outside. Housekeeping cleans the halls on about a weekly basis. The pool area is awesome and the community center is great, with a pool table and cozy fireplace to sit by. The apartments have nice new appliances and hardware that is good quality (shower curtain poles, tp holders, light fixtures, and pluming). We hear very little noise from neighbors. In my last apartment, you could hear every footstep from above. I never notice that here. Also, smells from nearby apartments don't permeate into mine, although you can smell them in the halls quite strong. We are in a corner unit, so we have a lot of windows and light. We paid for a parking spot in the parking garage ($70). We also have two small (4x5) storage units just down the hall (one was free and the other $35/mo). The staff here has been exemplary. They have always been courteous, friendly, and helpful. Administration, maintenance, etc has been great. The reasons for four stars instead of five are: 1-that the halls in my building often smell like cigarette smoke. The whole campus is smoke free, but people break the rules. The smell never permeates my apartment though. 2-parking for guests is difficult. The Salon next door has 22 parking spaces reserved, which leaves very few left for residents who don't have a garage spot and even less for guests. Overall, highly recommend! We got a 6 month lease (we had to sign up sight unseen from another state) but we plan to stay a long time! read more

This place is an endless hole... Seriously, there used to be a lot more free parking spaces around the building, which was taken by another apartment with all their new shiny towing signs. Meanwhile, Echo Lake Apartment increased the garage parking fee. Why not? Since most residents have no space to park their car around the apartment, but to pay for the parking. They also increased the rent in a step scale, we got 200 dollars rise in one year... When we confronted the management, they were saying that they were trying to match with the market price. Which market price? Seattle? We chose the place because it was cheaper than Seattle despite all the driving hassles. We know most apartment only raise 100 dollars the most each year. This is unbelievable. Also, the maintenance services was so bad... One of the elevator always has the same problem of not able to go down... The other elevator's lights were blinking for almost two weeks till they were replaced. Keep your eye to somewhere else. With new apartments fully builds, Seattle's rents even dropped. My husband and I loved living here! We moved from the east side of Washington, so we were pretty nervous about Seattle's rent prices. Echo Lake was perfect for us - the price was more than fair for the apartments! We got a beautiful place to live without breaking the bank. Our apartment was nestled right up against the Interurban trail, which gave us a great wooded view and a great atmosphere. The complex is right on Aurora, but feels nice and quiet when you're in it. Management is awesome. When they see a problem, they fix it. They're constantly upgrading and brainstorming ways to make life easier for residents. They installed a package room so we'd be able to retrieve our packages without having to wait for the office to open, upgraded the key fob system, and put brand new equipment in the gym for us. Maintenance runs like clockwork - work orders get done very quickly. All the employees on the property and in the office are helpful and great to talk to. I'd highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone moving to Seattle that needs a wonderful place to live! read more

It's clean, quiet and spacious. All packages are delivered to the office for avoiding being stolen. But it's pain in ass to go to the office and ask for packages every time something is delivered. And some staffs are rude when I ask to open the packages room. It must be annoying to be asked many times from different residents but they made this rule, so stop being rude. I'm going to keep this short and to the point because there isn't enough space to express my anger, disappointment and dissatisfaction with Echo Lake. My initial experience was construction of a gym that went way over its time for completion. We were told however the YMCA next door had a resident special during construction. That was a lie. The YMCA said no such deal existed. Ok we let that go. Next our car was towed because I parked next to where a construction van had coned off a parking space overnight. Now why are they allowed to hold spots when parking is already non existent. So that cost me over $300 to get my car out of impound. Lesson learned, I parked 90% of the time off site about a mile away. Not a fun walk when you get off work late and you have to walk past sketchy drug abusers and homeless that linger around the trail that runs through the complex. Managements response "you can add a garage space for $100 more a month." Excuse me, I already pay $2330 base for rent on a 2 bedroom. No thanks. Speaking of rent my rent fluctuated between $2400-2700 and when I inquired I was told because the electricity was billed back to complex. Well I was told as a courtesy they set up the bill through Seattle light. Upon calling myself Seattle light said there was no account and the unit was marked empty. Seattle light said to contact property. So I reached out again and was told to just wait because Seattle light can sometimes be backed up for up to 3 months. Treat so I'm going to get a large bill? Yes I was told. The bills never came and kept getting added to my rent. Seattle light was no help either saying it couldn't find the exact unit and that might be why I was marked vacant. Speaking of not finding unit my mail was often returned to senders saying address didn't exist. Of course the complex was of no help with this either. My next huge issue is we're a mixed family and on 3 separate occasions I reported a woman standing in the garage yelling "f#c%!+£ nigger." Echo Lake responses "wow, that's crazy." My son one morning on the way to school bus was yelled the same slur. So poc beware of that. My last big issue is upon moving out, because they had the nerve to raise the rent when our lease was up and being pregnant and having a toddler I already was at my limit with never being able to park near our unit and needed a 3 bedroom we decided to move. I made sure to get my notice turned in on time. To which no response came from the property manager and I had to follow up on to confirm they received it. Anyway, cut to 60+days after move out I now have a debt collection agency harassing me and threatening me saying I owe Echo Lake $4600. Excuse me? No response from their corporate office, no notice from them received until I messaged their one and only helpful employee. He gave me a breakdown that the bill is for carpet, electricity and back rent. I can go on and on how I'm days away from labor and beginning maternity leave. Even with a job I can't afford this bill and now I get to tell my children someone's not eating because Echo Lake is so hard pressed for money we have to shake our magic money tree and pay for someone's carpet and whatever the hell else they've decided to charge. This wasn't short but it's a shortened version of everything experienced with them. So if you enjoy not having parking, cracked out loiters, racism, and being charged practically a down payment on a house upon moving this is absolutely they complex for you. If you're a decent human, making an honest living, need a safe environment and want a company to be honest and fair this is not the place for you. read more

Once upon a time it was a nice place. Management has changed to some place in Texas. Still for the most part relatively quiet if you don't live next to Aurora blvd. The E bus to down town is across the street.The Rat City Roller Girls are also across the street. But. Rent has gone up 8% last year, 11% this year. Parking is very limited. $100/month basement parking if available. And, the new management is putting $$ into making the lobby look nice. I just wish they they would fix the elevator in bld 4 and maybe pressure wash the bld 4 parking garage, especially near the garbage bin. That's getting a little ripe., There is a 42 page annual lease agreement. You will enjoy initialing each page. read more

Renter beware. They have a 41 page lease agreement which you should have your lawyer review before you sign. It includes 16 addendums including bed bugs, you name it. There is a fee for everything including a $3000 fee for breaking your lease.. On top of the amount owed for the lease. And 1500 legal fees for them to come after you When I tried to talk to the rental associates they told me different things but the lease clearly says no verbal agreement is binding so watch out what you sign. There is an additional $200 month to month fee for when your lease is up and they raise your rent to whatever they want After I read the lease and decided I can't agree to those terms, i sent an email saying I wanted to withdraw my application. Now they are refusing to return my deposit, even though I notified them within the required 72 hours (again see their fine print on the application). Also, there is no on street parking and they had a hard time even getting me one parking spot (for an extra $85) and had to double book that one spot. I was thinking about renting a 2 bedroom and would need 2 spots. The one associate said sure lots of parking and you can even park over here in front of the building when you are moving. Of course the other manager said no way, you can't park there or you will get towed. The is an addendum for that too. They insist on money order or cashier's check. I can go on and on so just beware. They will charge you for cleaning the carpet even if you have already paid a professional for carpet cleaning.. Read the fine print. read more

My Husband, our two kitties and I lived at Echo Lake for a few months now and we love it here. The Staff is wonderful and very nice. The Amenities are fabulous! Especially the fitness center. I have been reading the reviews and honestly some people need to get over themselves!! Yes parking is awkward but this is how the apartment complex was built. You pay $75 for SECURE parking in a garage with CONTROLLED ACCESS. It is really not that bad. I know people who pay a garage rent of $300 in some places. And they tell you about all the fees and costs at the very beginning you don't have to rent there!! Yes the floors and Trash rooms are often dirty and smelly unfortunately some tenants are very inconsiderate and it is impossible to watch over every single tenant. Yes the rent goes up every year but that's how it is when you decide to rent an apartment. If you decide to live in an apartment you will need to lower your expectations it will never be the same as renting a house and nothing is for free in this world. Every place has certain rules. I suggest you read your lease before you sign it in order to avoid any "surprises". If you are looking to rent a place go ahead and ask all the questions you have. Leasing Agents can not read your mind you will have to tell them a little bit about you to receive proper information. I really have nothing bad to say about this place and I'm happy to live here. This place is just fabulous. I really enjoy sitting on my Balcony in the evening. The view is fantastic. If you are a positive person who enjoys life in general you will be very happy here! I give this complex one star for the appliances in the apts, but besides that it's over priced and a pain! The leasing agents are very rude and inept. I've even had something stolen from my apt by what I could only imagine have been a maintenance worker. The staff also managed to lose a rental payment I made from almost a yr ago, and they are billing me for it until they can find proof of payment. This is the worst leasing experience I've had in my life. I do not recommend moving into this complex. Also the fact that tenants have to pay for parking is rediculous also. I recently relocated and left Echo Lake Apartments. For your own good, keep looking It was the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. Been a renter all my life. I was there for 8 years and 10 months, yet management went back on their word and penalized me over $2,800 for an early leave. That is only one thing though. You don't need to take my word. Simply hang around as people come home from work and ask them how they like it if they have been there a year or two? They will tell you. Management will be great to you until you sign the lease. Then you are dead to them. I saw that through multiple management teams that come and go. If you like no parking, paper thin walls, bi-weekly fire alarms in the early AM, elevator outage for weeks at a time, slow to non-existent maintenance and a management team that lies consistently, than this is your place. You can expect a new lease once you renew that increases your penalty for an early move out.....no matter what they tell you. There was no one there when I left, that I talked to, who couldn't wait to get out of there. Why was I there so long? I hate to move and the location for me, was OK. I had to make 2 police reports while living there. They have no security no matter what they tell you. Maybe they will tow your car, that might be it? I was ransacked in my rental cage and they have no cameras? Kind of weird considering it is in a parking lot? Not even a sorry was mentioned. Worse though was the fact that they lost or someone in the office stole a rent check I had dropped off. I had to cancel and write a new one. You might think they would absorb the check cancellation fee......nope you thought wrong. That was on me also. I could go on and on but like I said, if you are seriously considering this cheaply constructed wannabe high end apartment complex, just spend a couple hours outside talking to the residence, they will clue you in. read more

I have lived in Echo Lake Apartments for about 41/2 years. I really don't understand all the negative reviews. I have NEVER had an issue with any of the management or maintenance people. They have all been extremely helpful and courteous. I will admit that parking could definitely be better and can be an issue at times, but I have found places that I recommend my guests to park that are fairly convenient. There have been a few times when there have been odors in the halls...but that is due to inconsiderate tenants who just stack garbage in the garbage rooms when the garbage chute door won't open because someone on another floor didn't close the chute there. In my 4 1/2 years experience there management has always tried to address any problems promptly. Often they empty garbage rooms and recycling more frequently than the scheduled days. Tenants need to be more considerate and responsible... oversize items are not supposed to be left in garbage/recycling rooms but rather taken to the dumpster in the garage. The hallways in my building are vacuumed frequently and have been repainted several times in the time I have been there. Echo Lake is a No Smoking Property so marijuana and/or tabaco smoke is another tenant issue. Management frequently sends out warning letters and tries to locate and stop or evict offenders. Also whenever there has been a problem such as a light out in the hall, a mess from a pet (only once) a leak, or any other issue that I have reported they have sent a maintenance person to take care of it within a reasonably short time. With the lake and it's park, the pool, fitness facility, proximity to the YMCA, the access to the Interurban Trail, convenient access to buses to go throughout King & Snohomish County, I enjoy living here tremendously and always enjoy coming home. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because parking can be a problem if you don't rent a stall in the garage. read more

I lived here for a year and a half. My unit was absolutely beautiful. The price was high but for the secure building I found it worth it. I moved because I bought a house but had I not I would have stayed and gotten a larger unit. The living room was actually large enough that we tied off curtains to make ourselves a room so our baby could have her own room. I didn't like that you had to pay for parking and could only have one car in your building garage the other had to be in another unit with more spots. We parked at the park and ride mostly. Management changed several times while we were there. The reason I give this place over all a five star is because the final management team that was there was wonderful and made the last few months better then the first year. Over all this place is far better than the alternative local apartments. Ps get a first floor unit if you can. We had one. With no one below you you won't get as many noise complaints and the first floor has a parking garage below so you aren't on the ground floor! Also stairs suck for moving this place has HUGE elevators! read more

If they had a no star that is exactly what they deserve. For 5 years I have had to deal with trash, cigarette butts, beer cans, and water bottles thrown down onto my balcony. Ove rht course of the years, they want me to take pictures and send them to the office, which I have and no one does jack crap. Now they tell me that they don't have permission to enter, which I gave them and advised that they take the pictures and go door to door above to address with the asses that throw the crap off. They refuse to do it. This is not the only issue here. I went out of town for 2 weeks to come home to a rental bill from Comcast for everyday I was gone. Seems that someone in the office entered each day, watched some movies and left. When I approached resident evil superior about who entered as it is supposed to be documented, they told me no one. Further, they advised me to lock my window over the canopy and whoever did this entered the unit from that. Mind you that they were ever so careful as to pull the screen out and replace it without a hint of damage. Spider man must have done this. If you consider renting here, don't. Run as far away as you can. They don't fix issues, there is mold everywhere, halls smell like ass, there is no parking, and the management staff is here one month and gone the next. read more

I will never never every stay here. They charge like 100 for garage parking and it is just normal parking spot with roof on top. I got my car scratch and they won't take responsibly. I thought they do since they have camera and charge like 100 a month. Our storage we pay 35 a month also got broke in and things got stolen again they won't do anything about it. When we first move in the dryer is not working and it took a week to fix it. Then our sink got broke and they won't fix it right away and took like 3 days. It is summer and my place stinks plus I can't cook at my own place. People who work in the office is lazy and not doing their job. Oh yeah you also have to pay for electricity of the garage and hallway which is bullshit. This place really really sucks. Just in case I move in 30th of March and it only end of May and all this things happened. So I really really don't recommend this place. I would rather invest in somewhere with better service and also not charging all this unnecessary stuff. I am more happy to give 0 star if I can! Stay away from this shitty place! read more

I would never recommend living here to ANYONE! While many of the reviews insist that the hallways are dirty, I have yet to notice this issue. Our hallway is moderately clean and no garbage smell as well. The worst issue for all Echo Lake apartment buildings is the thin walls! SO BAD! My boyfriend and I live above a nagging couple that constantly sends in complains about our "loud stomping" that wakes up their toddler from nap time, our muffled talking that disturbs their quiet reading hours (?), and our arguments (which I understand, but what couple living together doesn't fight from time to time?) . How ridiculous! We constantly feel like we're walking on eggshells in our own apartment! We understand not making noise after "quiet hours" (10pm) but now we have to be completely silent all day too? What's the point of living in an apartment you can't even feel comfortable in? I can't bring friends over, play the t.v too loud, talk too loud, walk heavily (are you f*cking kidding me?), have sex, cook at "unreasonable" hours, and so on. IT IS HORRIBLE! On top of that, the people above us blast techno music all day long. DO NOT MOVE HERE. One of the worst apartment renting experiences in my life. We are counting down the days until our lease is up so we can get the hell out of here and never look back. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. I lived here for a year with a roommate and both of left with a sour taste in our mouths. The parking is HORRIFIC. Do not think you can get away with not buying a spot if you do not plan of being home by 3 every day. Also if you do get a spot lets hope that the people you park next to know how to park, otherwise your basically dealing with the same thing. Also the staff in the leasing office is ever changing, so you will really not know anyone there. And be ready to pay a hefty late fee of $75 a couple of times throughout the term of your lease, cause they will for sure loose your rent check at least once. Once you move out, no matter what condition you leave the apartment, and no matter what size you lived in, you'll have to pay an outrageous fee. Even with the security deposit! The building always smells like a combination of what is being cooked, heated up,cigarettes, marijuana, etc. You have to hold your breath until you are either outside or in your own apartment. They will charge you for everything wrong even if it is not your fault when you move out. I received a final bill from them and they are charging me almost $1000 to paint wall, replace carpets, etc. When I moved in, it was already f*&k'd up and I told them that at the time of move in. The new management and leasing people who work there don't really give a s*%$! They just want more and more money out of you. I would highly advise you to not lease from them. And if you do after reading this review......that's your fault! They deserve negative stars. I have never rented a an anpartment like this where they are so greedy. I should have taken these reviews seriously before I signed my lease. The management are HORRIBLE! read more

DO NOT RENT HERE IF YOU HAVE A CAR! I lived in a new studio in 2011. I knew it was next to 99 but was basically told there would be some outside parking lot and street parking if I didn't want to pay. There was not. Most of the parking lot belongs to the James Alan salon and they will tow immediately. My disabled friend parked her car in an area that was confusing and was towed within 15 minutes of coming to pick me up. She was confused and did not use her permit which would have prevented the $150 fee I had to pay to get her car out of the towing company lot later that day. More than once I found notes from someone named Zachary Harrison who worked at the salon on the floor of the garage (near the garbage bins) requesting a tow. It's horrible. Also, lots of marijuana and smoke smells in the buildings. I had no issue with management and the pool was nice but usually filled with rowdy kids. I want to give it 2 stars but the memory of the parking issues won't let me. Perhaps if someone only used the transit system the parking hell of Echo Lake would be okay. The James Alan Salon people are horrible. read more
