Murphy is always the cheapest gas, and I always come here to get the gas if I can. I absolutely love it. We go to San Antonio a lot because we have family there, or rather Barbi does, and we definitely think that they are the cheapest gas in town, and not just by a couple of cents, but usually by quite a lot. There are about eight locations that we use regularly and several others that we have used once or twice. This is one of our regulars and it's never really full. Except maybe at rush hour.

These stations are located at just about ever Wal-Mart you'll come across here in San Antonio. Pull in, fill up, grab a soda or a snack, get out. A few of these places also have car washes just in case to mood strikes. Not a whole lot else going on. Most Murphy's have a small walk-up window while others have larger walk-in stories. This one is pretty small. That being said, all the usual snacks and drinks are on offer as are basic car necessities like oil, wiper fluid, and other assorted fluids for your truck or car. They also sell ice. Anyway, Murphy USA, like I said, usually has cheap gas or at least cheaper than the other gas stations in the vicinity. Of course, if there is an HEB nearby, the HEB will usually match Murphy's price. Oh, one last thing, just like HEB, Murphy will go cheap gas campaigns where if you purchase gas using a Wal-Mart card, you get it for .10 less per gallon.

When they opened the service was great and the tacos were fantastic. Not so much any more. If you want something fresh after 9 AM go somewhere else because anything with eggs will have dried out. Most of the time the tortillas are overcooked which leads to your taco fillings exploding out the side. The service used to be incredibly fast but it seems most times I go in they have run out of tortillas and have to make more. I will say this and this is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars, is that the staff is very nice and helpful.

Today's visit to QuikTrip #04016 at 6461 Bandera Road in Leon Valley was especially disgusting. The restroom had wet and dirty floors, trash overflowing from the towel bin, a used drink cup and paper around the toilet, and soiled clothing and tissues left across the baby-changing station. QuikTrip markets itself with "fresh QT food" and the slogan "QT. More than a gas station." Yet this location prepares and sells food while allowing a customer restroom to remain in this condition. That raises serious concerns about the cleanliness standards being enforced throughout the store. I have previously reported the poor conditions at San Antonio-area QT locations to the local office. Nothing appears to have changed, and I have seen no meaningful improvement. This is not consistent with the clean, well-managed QuikTrip stores I have visited in other markets. QT should stop treating repeated complaints as isolated incidents and investigate the management and sanitation standards across its San Antonio market. Customers purchasing prepared food should be able to trust that basic cleanliness is being taken seriously.
