From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew they were loved, cared for, and treated like family. We were fortunate enough to experience both the original in-home daycare and the transition to the Parkside Kids center, and it was seamless. The same love, attention, and family atmosphere that made us feel at home from the very beginning only continued to grow. The peace of mind that comes from knowing your children are happy and safe each day is something every parent hopes for, and Parkside Kids gave us exactly that. Every teacher and caregiver has been incredible. They didn't just care for our children--they encouraged them, celebrated their milestones, and helped them grow into the amazing little girls they are today. Along the way, our girls made friendships and memories they'll carry with them for years to come. The facility is always impeccably clean, communication has consistently been excellent, and it's clear how much pride everyone takes in creating a warm, welcoming environment. It's no surprise that whenever someone asks for a daycare recommendation, Parkside Kids is always my answer. It is clear Steph and Parkside's wonderful teachers love what they do, and our toddler son felt right at home from our very first day at the center. Steph's years of experience operating an in home center have seamlessly scaled to a larger daycare center setting while maintaining high standards and a close knit family feel. We have been less than impressed by other daycares in the area but have always felt comfortable and confident leaving our son in Parkside's very capable hands. In addition to the wonderful owner/director and staff, the indoor and outdoor play areas are clean and appropriately stimulating for young children. There is so much space and variety for children to explore, play, and burn energy, which is a huge plus for our active little one. I always have to drag my son out of Parkside at pick up time because he just loves playing with the excavators and rocks outside! The extreme cleanliness of the facility, nutritious and included meals, convenient hours of operation, frequent updates and pictures via the Brightwheel app, and reasonable rates are other things we appreciate. I had my daughter enrolled in this center for two months. This place is very overpriced for what…read morethey actually offer. They do not provide any food. I would send her with breast milk, and they would put it in a bottle and not mark whether or not she drank from the bottle, so I would have to throw out the milk. She was out many times due to fevers and positive COVID cases in the classroom, and they would still charge us for those days. She had an incident that has left her with a lifelong scar. She fell and hit her face on the edge of the table and cut her eyebrows. Due to the placement of the injury, her hair will not grow back there. This frustrated me tremendously because, although I understand things happen, in a classroom filled with babies, you would think things would be childproof, but apparently not. When I reached out to corporate, all they said was that the tables are safe, despite my child's incident. The assistant director did not care whatsoever about what happened and showed zero concern for my daughter. They contacted us and stated it was a minor injury. As soon as I saw the pictures, I just cried. We removed her from the center immediately. Since these events occurred on the 1st of December and we had just paid for that month, they refused to give us a refund. After numerous calls to corporate, they refunded me the money; however, they never mentioned making any changes to protect the children.

The teachers really work hard to do more than just watch the children - they are conducting daily developmental play even with the small infants. The app was such a blessing for us anxious new parents - getting photos and updates throughout the day eased us tremendously. It's a little pricey, but I can honestly say it was worth every penny.

I saw his language skills develop immensely and he came out of his shell. The food is good here also. Price was extremely fair for what they offer. Check out the website. It has lots of info on the good works that it supports in the local and global neighborhood. The church recently shared health and safety info about the proposed cell tower. All the substantiated scientific evidence about the impact that RF energy has on humans hasn't found any negative effect from cell towers. Look it up on the World Health Organization, American Cancer Society, and National Institutes of Health websites. Town of Colonie has cell towers all over it, including near two other North Colonie Schools, Sienna College, Newtonville Methodist Church and Preschool etc. If there was any danger, those towers wouldn't be operational.

Heard about TVN through the parents at Toddler Time, where I have been taking my son since he was…read more18 months. Looked into it further this year as my son is not quite ready for Kindergarten in the fall, but I wanted to find something a bit more than his current 3 day a week program. On Feb 13, I reached out to inquire about the 4 & 5 day programs for 4 year olds. I received an email back from Nicole (President & Senior Parent Chair) advising that both classes were full BUT that I should pay the application fee to reserve a spot on the waitlist for the four day program list, as that waitlist was shorter, and they were expecting kids to drop after the UPK lottery was announced. Filled out all of the information, paid the application fee that day. On Feb 17, I received an email from Hannah (Junior Parent Committee Chair) that she would be giving me a tour with Diana (Education Director) and we worked out a tour date of Friday, 2/27. On Feb 20, I received an email from Hannah "We are writing to welcome you and your family to TVN for the 2026-2027 school year!" A spot had opened up and my son was accepted into the 4 day program. The email directed me to submit additional paperwork and pay a $200 non refundable tuition deposit. Which I did, the deposit cleared my account 2/23. On Feb 21 I had an email exchange with Hannah to change the tour date, I was under the impression that it was just the parents touring the school, but Hannah informed me that the Committee required my son to be present for the tour as well. We rescheduled the tour for Feb 26. Backstory - had a previously planned trip to go to Los Angeles during spring break. The trip was 2/18 - 2/24, we left our Air B&B at 2/24 on Tuesday at 9AM and did not pull into our driveway until 4AM Wednesday (2/25) morning. Thursday 2/26 @ 11:15am we had the tour, we were all incredibly tired, didn't really think too much of the timing since we had already been accepted into the school. The tour itself was a little weird as they are given during school hours, so neither the parent nor the child are able to go in to the classroom and meet the teachers due to the school's liability concerns. My son is currently in preK, he knows school as familiar place where he belongs. The combination of the jet lag and the fact that he was being forced to act unnatural in a familiar environment, eventually led to a melt down. Towards the end of the 20 min tour, Diana kept mentioning that she had to expel several children early in the 25/26 school year because they were not fitting in. In retrospect, this was probably her subtle way of telling me that she didn't believe my son was a fit for TVN, but again, we had already been accepted, already paid our tuition deposit, I didn't think anything of it. Friday, 3/6, a week after the tour, I received an email from Diana letting me know that my son was no longer accepted into the program. I emailed Diana back, explaining the 20 hours of travel the day before the tour, provided a progress report from his current teacher and asked if we could re-do the tour. Diana responded with a copy and paste of her prior email with the addition of, "The TVN Committee has reviewed your additional information but unfortunately...". A very corporate feeling template, which is weird considering we are talking about a PreK. Diana did tell me that I would get my application fee back ($100) which I did, but the school kept my $200 tuition deposit for the 26-27 school year. After this situation, I spoke with other moms who said they were afraid of even applying to TVN because of the tour. That is literally insane. This is a preschool, in the basement of a church, in a town of less than 10K people. My daughter had an easier time getting accepted into college. TL/DR: 1. Your child's spot in the TVN preK is not guaranteed. Doesn't matter if you paid the tuition deposit, or have received the "Welcome to our family" email. 2. The school tour is not really a tour for you view the school, it's a quiet way the TVN Committee can judge you and your child. 3. We had been accepted to the 4 day program by Hannah on 2/20, yet the rejection email on 3/6 from Diana implied that we were still in the application process. Either there is an extreme breakdown in communication within the TVN Committee or I'm being gaslit. 4. TVN Committee has no problem expelling students (3-5 year olds) that are deemed to be "not a good fit." This review is no way a reflection on the teachers, as I didn't get to meet them, only on the current TVN Committee and their administrative practices.

My son graduated from TVN last week and we have had a really special experience. At the beginning…read moreof his first year, his teacher sent home a questionnaire asking what our goals were for the year. I remember I wrote that I wanted him to socialize and have fun. I couldn't have imagined how much he would learn in preschool. He can count to 1,000 (he really loves numbers), and he is starting to recognize words in books. He loves to learn. I believe TVN has set the stage for a beautiful life of learning. The teachers are so kind and patient, and the staff is amazing. He has been exposed to so many new things and has had so much fun. The parents in the class form a small community and truly support one another. My daughter is starting in the fall and my baby will be starting in 3 years. I would recommend TVN to anyone. I just asked my son what he thinks of Tri-Village and he said "it makes me super super trillion happy". We love it!
