This year I was on top of the game and probably annoyed the owners a little too much by calling way too often. I had a chance to stop in over the weekend and despite this insanely hot heat for June, I had a lovely experience. There were four areas that I could pick from. But the English lavender that I really coveted was not quite ready yet this may prompt me to take a second trip this year to make up for all the years that I have missed out. The process is fairly simple. They give you a cute basket and a cute pair of purple scissors and show you exactly how to cut your lavender. Prices are a little bit high for what you get anything you can fit into trash bag style twist tie is $10. But you're paying for an experience not just the product. Be aware if you are afraid of bees, there are plenty frolicking about the buds. I personally enjoyed this and got some nice video. I think the heat kept a lot of people away this weekend because it wasn't very crowded and I have heard that it gets pretty crowded. In addition to my lavender, I picked up a lavender honey and a lavender stress balm and I am quite excited to make something with my culinary lavender that I picked. All in all, I enjoyed my experience and like I said, I may go back when the English lavender is ready but for now I am quite content to know that I did not miss out on the 2026 lavender picking season.

Don't get me wrong - all great stores but I just wanted a change. I feel like record stores that carry new vinyl are really far and few between. I was reminded of BRR as I was going through my Instagram feed and decided to take the hour drive out west to see if they had a couple of RSD2024 releases left over that I was seeking out. Great little quaint town and the shop is on a side street off of the main. Nice selection and knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately for me the shop sold out of what I was looking for - the early bird definitely got the worms - but the one guy working (could've been the owner) suggested I visit rsdmrkt.com that Monday to check on RSD titles that didn't sell out at other record stores. I ended up purchasing a couple of releases that were moderately priced. Would I come back? For sure.

Everything was exceptionally organized and they had all the usual categories of music. A lot of their stock seemed to be new and not just all used records. The prices were generally fair. I loved that they also had a lot of movie memorabilia as well and I ended up walking away with a record from the rare crate as well as some movie memorabilia for my bf. Definitely the coolest space and I'd love to just hang out here more. The gentleman who works (or owns) the shop was also very nice and helpful. They've been there for about 2 years and have a sister store I also really liked.
