Just days before construction was scheduled to begin, the contractor completely stopped communicating with us. We called several times left messages asking everything was still on schedule or if something happened, and never received a response. Also, followed up with several emails and nothing. Now we're scrambling to find a new GC and reschedule our fabricator. The lack of communication was extremely unprofessional. While this has been frustrating, we're thankful it happened before construction started rather than in the middle of the project.

I didn't want to compromise on quality though and was tempted to pick another vendor. But I somehow trusted the other 6 solid reviews and decided to go with him, and I wasn't disappointed one bit. Right from the time I called him, he just quoted one price. He did come over and do some additional things, minor fixes on the garage door itself, but didn't charge me anything extra. Since I had a broken phone, all communication after the first phone call with Jamie was through Yelp messaging, but he still very prompt. (Actually that's an understatement. His responses were almost immediate. He later told me that I seemed to send him messages exactly when he was online, so there was no delay in responding, but that's still a huge plus in my review). On the day of, he arrived earlier than scheduled (he called to confirm first though). He greeted my dog and petted her a bit. She seemed to like him instantaneously, and that again was a huge plus; my dog is a way better judge of people than I am, and I trust her instincts. His work was exceptionally good. I don't know much about garage door installation, but for no moment did I feel like he was mucking around. He knew exactly what to do, had all the tools required to do it, and completed the whole thing in about 45 minutes, all the while chatting to me about Bollywood movies. Once done, he told me everything I needed to know about that specific door opener I had, saving me the trouble of reading the manual. He didn't specifically ask for cash, but I know family run businesses appreciate it as it helps them avoid expensive bank fees. From the time I made the call to when he finished the service was less than 24 hours, so technically I'd still consider it a same-day service.

We received a total of 4 quotes for a shower repair job from different independent contractors as well as the large box stores. We picked Duane because he was the only person who told us that we could save a considerable amount of money by repairing the shower insert instead of replacing it. We did just that and we couldn't be happier. In addition to saving us money, Duane's honesty and integrity was very refreshing. We were beyond satisfied with the quality of the work, the speediness of the service and the professionalism of the contractors. I understand that Oglesby Construction specializes in much larger jobs than one they did for us but nowhere along the way was Duane dismissive or disinterested in helping us. I believe that we got the same care and service that would have received were we working with on a more lucrative, complete home remodel, which we plan to do in the future.
