    Stained sheets

Econolodge should probably just re-brand as the Disgusto-Lodge because this place was nothing but disgusting. I have stayed at numerous budget friendly cheap motels and I've never found a hotel as dirty and run down as this one. The carpet in the whole place looked 60 years old and like it hasn't ever been cleaned. I don't even know where to start with the room, the stained and paper-thin bed sheets and comforter, the ripped curtain, the dirty mirrors, the broken lights, the dirty bathroom, the broken smoke alarm, etc. etc. etc. I honestly probably could have had nicer accommodations down the road at the Florence US Federal penitentiary. Would have 100% rather camped then stay here. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay here. It's cheap but not worth it! ALSO to add gas to the fire, our room door did not lock at all which we didn't realize until we went to leave in the morning and we could just push the door open even when we would slam it shut. We let the front desk know and she was fully aware of the issue!! (Why would you book someone in a room that you know doesn't work?!?!!) but it gets better.... she then moved us to a new room, which she said also had some issues but had been working okay recently (I'm assuming it was the only room left open???) and guess f*ckin what... we got locked inside of the new room and the door handle FELL off!! We had to call the front desk to help us get out. That was the last straw... we just packed up and left. Jennifer at the front desk was understanding and said she would refund us but we had to go through Priceline. The ONLY good thing I have to say about this place was Lisa at the front desk. She was very nice and 100% understanding when we asked for new sheets and blankets. She even went and picked out the nicest ones she could find, even though those were stained too. Also, shower water pressure was pretty good. The end. TLDR: don't stay here.

Worst hotel experience this far. The econo lodge is canon city is the worst hotel I have had the displeasure of wasting my money on. Let's first start by saying that the pool area was unkempt, the safety equipment is way out of date, the bathroom was gross and to top it off there was vomit right by pool stairs. Going into the room, there was no Toilet paper, the siding on the tub was literally falling off and you can see all the plumbing, the pull out bed was disgusting, with crumbs all in it from who knows how long ago. The floors were FILTHY with dirt, looks like the place hasn't been mopped in ages. When I went to say something to management he pretty much told me that I'm free to leave but I shouldn't expect a refund. I told him he was running a shitty hotel with shitty housekeepers and the smartass told me "thank you" and then proceeded to tell me that it sounds like my kids were going to literally cave his floors in...which is absolute bullshit. They had been sitting on their tablets of watching TV. Kids are kids but they weren't loud like he claimed and waited for me to complain about the cleanliness of the hotel overall until he said something. Definitely don't recommend this awful place or the shit owner. Spend your money somewhere else. The picture of the towel is dirt that came from a small portion of the floor after my kids got out of the bath.. can just imagine how the rest of that floor looked.

No towels in a 5 day stay. 1 f%&$"n roll of toliet paper. Cheap DUMP!

Looks ,nice from the pictures, but it's a TOTAL DUMP! Stay away. The place is filthy. The staff is confrontational, and/or non-existent. Seedy people in and out of place, with the front desk constantly smoking out front. My room was disgusting, smoke filled, I never got housekeeping once, only 2 shitty towels, and 1 roll of tolietpaper for 5 days! Seriously! When I asked for an extra blanket, it was met with complete adversity and arguing! Paper thin everything, with holes in the walls, smokey rooms, and seedy people everywhere. Ugh, God. Please don't waste your money. You'd be better under a park bench. I have never been so happy to leave a place. Pay an added $10 a night and stay at the Hampton or Best Western where you at least get some type of service. Worst hotel I've EVER Stayed at!

    Stains on bedding

Don't do it! I booked the "Junior Suite" with a jacuzzi for my birthday, but I . was so disappointed

Ok, lets turn on the tv-remote batteries were dead-went to the desk to get some so I can watch tv. Not my job why am I doing this? Lets open the window, and enjoy the view-of the alley. Let me go to bed, and read a little-oh the light switch turns, but no light. Somebody didnt do thier job, again. Lets go to sleep, on the left side of the bed since its firm-the right side is a sponge. How old is this bed? I need a shower, so lets crank out the provided shampoo-there might be enough in this small bottle to just wash my hair (see picture). Guess who's never coming back? Me!

There were bugs in my bed.

There were bugs in my bed. That's it. It was gross. There shouldn't be bugs crawling in the bed. The person at the front desk did not seem concerned but said they'd treat it.

When we arrived around midnight, there was no greeting or even basic courtesy. The front desk attendant acted like we were interrupting her night and got an attitude over our reservation--insisting we only had one room when our app clearly showed two. Her response was that she didn't see both rooms because we checked in online. Only after we had all our luggage loaded onto the cart with a flat tire did she tell us the elevators weren't working--and that no rooms were available on the first floor. It would've been courteous to receive a phone call prior to arrival letting us know about the situation. Had we been elderly or disabled, I doubt any assistance would have been offered. As it was, we had to haul a full cart of luggage up three flights of stairs after midnight, without a single offer of help. Once in the rooms, it got worse. One room had only one towel, a towel thrown in the closet, an earring back on the floor, and a strange blue stain on one of the beds. The second room had a broken security lock and a bed that wasn't even made. When we returned to the desk to request a room change, the attendant mentioned there had been "a lot of police activity lately" and that she'd mention the cleaning issues to housekeeping. We've stayed at many Hampton Inns, including in far rougher areas, and never had an experience anywhere near this bad. The customer service, cleanliness, and maintenance at this property are unacceptable. Absolutely avoid this hotel. It does not meet Hampton Inn standards in any way.

To be clear, the woman at the front desk did everything in her power to make our stay great. But someone needs to invest some love into this hotel. We came here for a mountain bike race for one night - the hotel is full and there is only one person on staff. The first room we got hadn't been cleaned and the front office person had to leave the front desk to clean it herself. Room 302 doesn't have a working lock. The king size sheets don't actually fully fit on the bed. The elevator is covered in fingerprints and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a year. The floors are sticky. Talking to other customers, the rooms seem to be set at 88 degrees. The thermostat in a neighboring room had all of its buttons broken off. Someone had a fridge that wasn't working. Our room didn't like, despite pulling up on it like we were told to do. The pool had no towels. The washer/dryer for personal use is broken. In the morning, we learned that the oven was broken and they couldn't make eggs, sausage or potatoes for breakfast. What was good? The rooms and the pool seemed really clean and everyone was friendly. The A/C in the room is quiet. And they have make-your-own waffles. I hope this place can do what it needs to do to be great.

Fun facts: my aunt got married here in the 90's when it was the Cañon Inn, I also got married here in the 2000's, but it was bought by Quality at that time! Our stay was Tuesday night thru Saturday morning. Checking in the front desk gal was sweet and attentive. My husband had thrown the card with the internet passcode on it into the outside trashcan accidentally, so I had to go back down and get that info again from her. I complemented that the room was bigger than the photos showed online (we stayed in a 2 queen room and there was room for our kiddos blow up bed and all our luggage!) The free breakfast was just okay, nothing too crazy, except the waffles were very yummy (when there was table syrup instead of sugar free syrup available) but can't complain too much when it's FREE! We knock a star off because our room was not cleaned and our towels were not replaced, even with asking the front desk, the entire time we stayed. That's 4 nights; and they told me they clean every 3rd day... on the 3rd day, we stayed in our room in the morning and never heard a housekeeper knock or anything... our trash was overflowing and we had to put our used towels in the tub, just so we could use the toilet in the tiny bathroom. The sink in the bathroom did not drain very well, but we only really used it for washing hands and teeth brushing so it wasn't a huge deal to us. The beds and pillows were comfy, the tv didn't connect to the WiFi and therefore could not connect to Netflix, but we had food network on whenever we were in the room.
