We loved this place! We brought our son and his friend to camp Colorado without much of a plan. Sweet water River Ranch was a gem. Gavin was extremely helpful and a great host and was even able to accommodate us for an extra night... we loved this place so much! Bathhouse was clean and convenient and we slept amazing with the sound of the river flowing right through our sight. It was Amazing! The tent site was a dream. We stayed across the bridge right on the river. We can't wait to come back!

    My wonderful campsite...riverside.

Stayed 3 days and 2 nights and loved every minute. It was only a short beautiful drive from Colorado Springs and worth every mile. We had a tent site on the opposite side of the river from the rest of the park. The walk across the wire foot bridge was exciting. The even provided a cart to get your gear across. Camp site was nice and big with a fire pit and picnic table. The bathrooms were super clean and had plenty of hot water. The price was reasonable, about $50 for two nights. I usually camp at state parks and this place made me reconsider. I think the biggest compliment I can give is that I'll go back because I never go to the same place twice. The best part of the whole adventure though was the owners, Dave & Joan Nowlan. They were both very nice, helpful, and welcoming. I also really loved their sweet dog, Ursa. She came over and hung out with my family and German Shepherd, Kenzo.

Our most scenic campsite during Colorado trip!

Just nestle on long grassy bank we found this gem during recent camping trip. Our G1 site is absolutely gorgeous with the Arkansas river flows right next to it. Gentle sound of water rushes downstream, cricket singing, frog croaking, trout splashing... occasionally interrupted by cars passing at distance, sing a long lullaby for our restful sleep. Well, we both have our earplugs on to diminish the HWY50 somewhat! Combo restroom and hot shower are among the cleanest we have seen. We love the no quarters hot shower and the peaceful setting to wake up to. Will definitely come back for more.

From history lessons to hilarious jokes and endless encouragement, Luke felt like just one more member of our crazy family! Even the ride in the van was a hoot, thanks to Josie! He made going over the safety rules checklist fun and easy to remember. Also, Hank, Henry, or was it Harry? Who knows! But the photographer captured all our fun and chaos along the way. This adventure is definitely saved to the top of my list for my next trip out! Zipline::: 1-2-3, ready, zip! Today's afternoon adventure was packed with excitement, featuring hikes with no cactus grabs, Bob's wonderful splits, and Zoe's tree touches, all with a side of zipping through Mongoose Valley! Guide of All Time. Funny, knowledgeable, calm in the chaos, and somehow knew both river facts and dad jokes. He could lead a TED Talk on how to have a good time on water. It was our family of four (two adults, two kids -- 12 and 15, professional eye-rollers) plus another awesome family we met on the raft. Total strangers at first, river besties by lunch. Echo Canyon clearly knows how to pair people up -- no drama, just good vibes and shared paddling trauma bonding. The river itself? Just enough rapids to make us scream-laugh, plus plenty of chill spots where we could float, swim, or yeet ourselves off rocks like majestic river creatures. It was basically summer camp, adrenaline edition. Speaking of lunch: we expected, like, a soggy sandwich and a dream. What we got was a deluxe box lunch -- huge, delicious, and teen-boy approved (which is saying something). Energy fully restored. We were ready to conquer the next round of splashes. By the end of the day, we were soaked, sun-drenched, mildly sore, and so happy. JP made the whole experience feel like a guided nature documentary with more laughs and fewer khakis. Book the trip. Ask for JP. Make friends on the raft. Eat the lunch. Jump in the river. Live your best life.

We booked our trip beginning of 2022-ish when they were running som specials on 2 and 3 day trips…read more I gave the information to my girl scouts and had a couple that wanted to go. I was not initially supposed to be the adult going with. I have a fear of bigger and faster rapids....... However stuff happened and it ended up being me. From the beginning they were easy to work with. I had made a tentative reservation online but we didn't have quite enough people. However our trip was early in the season. I called after a couple of days to see if they thought we would be a go. They opted to run the trip for us since we were early season. They did keep it up for others to potentially join but no others did. Which is unfortunate. Our experience was great! They sent plenty of email communications as it got closer including asking about dietary needs and then reminders. When we arrived we got there an hour early as instructed in the email. They checked us in. Got us a dry bag and our tokens for getting the wet suit. We went and packed our dry bags. And then picked up our wet suits and went to the bathrooms to change. Bathrooms were clean and well kept. The wet suits dont have the arms and neck so you would want to wear a non cotton shirt underneath or be sure to wear a lot of sunscreen (if you are renting a wet suit. We were early season and it was recommended to us) Turbo, the driver came out to chat with us as we were waiting and gave a pep talk. Through our chat he had found out I was nervous. Appreciated the pep talk. Our guides, Kat and Gregg were professional and knowledgable about rafting. Kat shared quite a bit of some of the cool history of the area. Gregg really try to engage my quiet and introverted girls. Being that we were doing a 2 day trip there was food involved. We had 3 of us who have celiacs and then one who is also vegan and one who is also vegetarian. They were able to accomodate our needs with really yummy, delicious and filling food. Gregg and Kat prepared all our meals. Honestly we all felt a little bad we are used to being doers. It was weird to have someone else doing all the work. But they did a great job and the food was yummy and satisfying! They also had some desert available at times and hot drinks. Was so thankful that they did such a good job with the food. Sometimes places can't get it right when you have a gluten free and vegan combo. That was not the case here. They did a great job!! Our camping area was lovely. There was a little bit of hiking available. But they also brought some games that we played for a bit. It was nice and relaxing. The next day going through the canyon was definitely a lot of fun. As with most companies they do take some pics of your ride, if you want pics be sure to stop back by the front desk after your experience. You wont be sorry this is a great company.
