Absolutely disgusted. We opened the door to our room at Econo Lodge, found old to-go boxes with fruit flies.. We didn't stay, we turned right around and left. After four weeks of disputing charges on our credit card. This hotel is frequently charging our card. It was supposed to be a family trip, passing by... And now we are left to deal with this misery. I was only in town one night and on a budget, so I chose the Econo Lodge. Unfortunately, it was not a pleasant stay. The desk clerk had to ask me if I had already paid since she could not tell for some reason, which I don't understand. Then, I was given a smoking room even though I requested non-smoking. The key to the new room wouldn't work, despite the clerk reprogramming it 3 times. Also, there isn't a voice mail service if the front desk clerk is away, so it just rings and rings and rings, which is what happened when I needed to call the next day. The room itself was plain and worn, which wasn't a big deal, but some things didn't work properly or were missing (hair dryer, sink area light, bathroom fan). The sheets were old and stained (it looked like laundry staining, but I would expect them to replace sheets when they get that way). Also, the "comforters/blankets" on the bed were so thin I needed to use the sheet and blanket from both beds. Finally, the water was brown. I used bottled water that I had brought with me to make my coffee and brush my teeth. I seriously considered not even showering the next day before driving home because of the water, but since I had just run a half marathon, I just took the quickest shower ever to get the layer of salt, sweat and dirt off. read more

This was the dirtiest motel. Every trash can was overflowing with trash and the place smelled like feces and urine. Upon check in, we were given a key to an occupied room and walked in on the customers. When were went back down, the employee working gave us another key to a room which was unlocked, opened, tv on, beds un-made without sheets and clearly not clean or ready for a new customer. When we told the employee, she said she thought the rooms were empty and clean and said the cleaning crew didn't do their job. Unexceptable. As we were asking for our money back, the men from the first room came running down with bags and clothes leaving the room as if they were not supposed to be there. It seemed like random people were staying in this hotel and not paying to stay. Perhaps friends of night employees. We left and stayed at the hotel next door which was much better and worth the cost. Now we know why there is such a price difference for the Econo lodge. The next day we called the motel manager at Econo and found out we had not been refunded but instead had been charged twice when we didn't even stay there. We are still dealing with this refund issue. This hotel is a complete mess all around. Do not stay here. As one review said, "he would rather sleep in his car than stay here." Wish I would have seen this review before booking. If I could give this establishment a 0 or negative stars, I would. read more

Disgusting!! Our room was not ready when we got there even though we had a reservation. We had reserved a non smoking room and got put in a smoking room anyway. The staff said they would bring airfresheners for the smell but never came back. The bedding was really cheap and had no heavier blankets than just a sheet. The floor was nasty dirty. It left our feet black and gross. They advertised a pool, but it wasn't open in the end of May in MS! It was so hot a pool would have been so nice. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Staff was unhelpful and just didn't care. Will not be returning! read more

Rooms are a bit old but it looks reasonably clean. Decor nothing to rave about. Only real problem was that both rooms I looked at smelt of cheap perfume/freshened.. That probably wouldn't bother most but it bothered me so I didn't stay. Walk in rate was only $45.00. There was a guy lurking about at the reception asking for money. read more

Four rooms looked like they were from an abandon hotel. Two we're wide open for homeless and drug addicts to wander into. Our room didn't have a remote for the tv. There was old dirty socks under the bed obviously no one vacuumed the room. I got super itchy and had to take Benadryl after being in the room. It was non smoking but reeked of old smoke. People were yelling earlier in the morning. I wouldn't be surprised like the old closed down K mart across the street this isn't closed down by next year. Nice front desk staff tho and deserve a better hotel then what they work for. read more

This is the worst hotel In Greenville, Ms it's Nasty, the bed was so okd it was sinking in the middle the floor was nasty, it was burn marks on the sink and rust on the tub, the furniture didn't match and it was scared all up. It was Awful Dont waste your time or money read more

The Motel from Hell Below is a list of problems we had at our brief two day stay at this sub-par motel. * September 28, 2016 - On arrival at 3:10 pm, the desk clerk checked us in a second floor room. When I informed him that we had requested first floor (we are both 64 and have physical problems), he said everyone wants a first floor and it is first come/first served. I informed him that we had made the reservations weeks prior (booked July 23rd). He mumbled that all first floor rooms were taken. The lady at the desk asked if would like a first floor room on the second day if any were available, I responded affirmatively, and we never heard from her again. About the room: o The bathroom door mirror was filthy and had not been cleaned recently o Three outlets on the wall were soft. I went to plug something in and they were not secure o The outside door threshold was so chewed up that a small critter could enter o The freezer in the refrigerator had not been defrosted in months o The floor lamp socket was broken and just hung loosely against the lamp shade o There was no phone in the room o There was no alarm clock in the room o Television suddenly muted itself - I had to reset the cable to get it to work. o When taking a shower, I had to pull the drain completely out in order for the water to drain. o After the shower, there was standing water next to the toilet. I do not know if the toilet or the tub leaked. * September 29, 2016 - On the second day, I stopped by the desk and told the desk clerk about the dirty mirror, and she wrote a large note and supposedly gave it to housekeeping. We left for the day and came back about 6:00 pm. Our room keys did not work. The desk clerk gave us new keys and came to the room with us to make sure they worked. At that time, I pointed out the above deficiencies in the room as well as the bathroom door mirror that again was not cleaned. The condescending apologies from the personnel meant nothing. Wanted to check out room too see if it was clean and bed bug free the guy at guest services agreed that it was ok for me to do so. As soon as he excorted me to the room i lifted up a pillow and I saw cigarette holes in the bed linen..And I might add, it was a nonsmoking room..the guy told me that i wasnt able to check the bed because the beds would be disturb and he wouldn't be unable to rent the room out to anyone because there's no housekeeping after a certain time. He told me I can undo the beds if I will be making the beds back!! He also tried to get me to pay or the room before i could inspect the beds in which he would refund if i found anything that made me decide to decline the room. This was idiotic because if i paid for the room and inspected it i would have disturbed the beds anyway. The guy was just very unprofessional. read more
