It's also right on a snowmobile trail. They have a very nice breakfast, breakfast room and seating area. Their pool & hot tub was open and in use. We didn't use it as there was a group of heavy drinkers in there. The receptionist was very friendly and offered dinner recommendations. I would definitely stay here again.

Having said that, this is a good solid place to stay: *Clean *Friendly *Beds were Comfortable *I thought it was Reasonably Priced...2 Qn beds, during one of the busiest winter weekends, when nothing was available through Expedia, or other I'net sites. but I called and booked directly for about $125/nt *Honest (told me a day before we were to check in, without my asking, that their hot tub was being repaired and they hoped to have it done by Fri when we were checking in & it turned out that it WAS repaired by the time we got there) *Nice 24hr pool and hot tub area *Very Respectable Free Breakfast (look for the cheese omelettes to micro-wave in the fridge--pretty tasty) If you have stayed up in the Hurley WI or Ironwood / Bessemer MI area before, then you would know you're not going to find anything close to "high class" hotels. This Days Inn is as good as you will find up here. Although it is the farthest from the main U.P. ski areas, it's very close to Whitecap. Also, it's very close to Hwy2, which is the main east west road up there. Would definitely stay here again...but I'd book far enough in advance to get one of those 1st floor rooms if we're skiing.

It won't shut off completely and they clearly don't have anybody on site to come and fix it since it's a very small town... also the sauna was locked when we tried to use that amenity as well. Over $200 a night for this room is a little bit outrageous for the situations that we've had to deal with for that. I wouldn't 100% recommend this place but I would not also say no completely. I wish there was some type of small refund for all of that since they seem to not care about that issue with the plumbing or whatever it was going on with the Jacuzzi tub.

I made reservations for three rooms and Cloverland did not disappoint! It's an older motel, with outside doors, but the rooms were SO clean. The beds were absolutely comfortable. We all got a great night's rest and everyone commented on the friendliness of the owner, how well maintained the rooms were, and the excellent price for the room. We will be back, and recommend Cloverland to everyone.
