If excellence had a name, it would undoubtedly be Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach…read more My experience as a patient has been truly exceptional. I underwent surgery performed by the renowned Dr. Vulcano, an outstanding physician whose expertise, dedication, and compassion inspire complete confidence. I placed my trust in his hands, and I am hopeful that, thanks to his remarkable work, I will make a full recovery from my fractures. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire hospital staff. From the doctors and nurses to every member of the support team, everyone treated me with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. During one of the most challenging moments of my life, I found not only medical excellence but also humanity and compassion. Five stars are simply not enough to rate the quality of care provided by this hospital. Mount Sinai deserves the highest recognition for its unwavering commitment to the health, well-being, and recovery of its patients. Thank you for giving me hope and for guiding me through this journey toward recovery. Highly recommended and deserving of the highest praise. Gremaf Reyes

I went yesterday for my annual checkup and I had a very bad cold and was losing my voice. I walked in again today because I felt worse and really needed antibiotics and prednisone. I have a chest cold, fever, cough, congestion sore throat wheezing, and a very bad cold. I spoke to MARIA BALCOM the Office Manager who promised me that my antibiotics would be at Walgreens today. I went to your office between 3:00 and 3:30, then went by the pharmacy around 6:30 and they had no prescriptions from the office. MARIA BALCOM the person that claims to be the office manager, gives out her cell phones and then blocks the patients because I can't even reach her. So not sure why she does that. This is very unprofessional for her to tell me that the doctor is going to send the medication and then forget about it. This is extremely unprofessional. This is going to force me to go into an urgent care and pay a high copayment just to get the same medication that they could've sent me. This is a medical facility, not a retail store. You guys need to get your act together. Either that or Maria BALCOM needs some serious training. Because that's not the way to treat patients. This is very unprofessional to say the least. You don't promise a patient to send their antibiotics and prednisone that they desperately need and then forget about it and not send it. Did you forget to tell the Dr? I checked again at 8:50pm and the medicine was not a Walgreens. I checked again this morning and there's no sign of any prescription being sent. Another disappointment from this Palmetto Bay center. Maria Balcom, I hate to write reviews like this, but you earned this one. When are you going to call in my medications? I'll wait an hour, then I'll be going into the urgent care because now I'm feeling even worse.

I came to the hospital on a Sunday, and I spent 12 days receiving care. During my stay, I was informed that I was experiencing kidney failure. Hearing that news was frightening and overwhelming, but throughout my entire journey, the doctors, nurses, and Patient Care Technicians made sure I was never alone. They continued to check on me, support me, answer my questions, and make sure I was okay every step of the way. The care, compassion, and dedication shown by the Tower 3 team truly made a difference in my life. I believe the care I received helped save my life, and I will always be grateful for the incredible people who took care of me during this challenging time. I would like to give a special shout-out and my sincerest thanks to my nurses: Elizabeth, Natacha, Yalina, Denise, and Christina. Each of you showed incredible kindness, professionalism, patience, and compassion. You treated me with respect, listened to my concerns, and helped me feel safe during a very uncertain time. I also want to give a special thank you to my Patient Care Technician, Noel. Your dedication, positive attitude, and willingness to help made a meaningful impact on my stay. Your care and support did not go unnoticed. To all the doctors, nurses, and PCTs on Tower 3: thank you for everything you did for me. You were there during a moment when I needed help the most, and your hard work and commitment gave me strength during a very difficult chapter of my life. Elizabeth, Natacha, Yalina, Denise, Christina, and Noel -- I want you to know that I truly appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you for taking care of me, supporting me, and helping me through this journey. I will never forget the kindness you showed me.

I went today to the emergency room at North Shore Medical Center after having gallbladder removal…read moresurgery last week and being in pain. Upon arrival the security ignored me and told me to took a seat. No one was at the front desk. Once the representatives at the front desk, a lady with long hair and a guy with a beard they completely ignored my need for help. It took 40 minutes for them to take me in after I threw up and was screaming and crying in pain to be helped. I was ignored multiple times by the lady in the front desk until I yelled sternly for her to tell them I needed to see someone. She made smart remarks about me to another member of the hospital saying "that one" to refer to me needing help and the lady told her "and what". Had it been a worse situation I could've been seriously hurt or worse. It is completely unacceptable how they treat patients. The nurses and doctors were very nice and understanding and took care of me as quick as they could but the front of the Emergency room needs a lot of improvement and people that actually like their jobs and have some sense of urgency. The hospital is dirty and the bathrooms smell awful. Compared to other hospitals I've been to it's clearly noticeable there is no priority to make a good impression on patients. Had I not been in such pain I would've left. I will also never recommend this place to anyone

Incident Statement…read more Date of Incident: July 18, 2026 Approximate Time: 7:30 PM-8:36 PM Location: North Tower, First Floor Front Desk My name is Vicky Myers. On July 18, 2026, my husband, Mark Szporka, and I visited the hospital to see my friend, Aines Hernandez Gonzalez's father, Pedro Hernandez, who had undergone surgery earlier that day and was a patient at the hospital. We checked in at the North Tower first-floor front desk at approximately 7:30-7:42 PM. The room number my friend had provided was incorrect, so I called her to verify it. During that call, she was crying and repeatedly said, "Vicky, please help me. Please help." I immediately informed the two front desk employees that my friend was trapped in an elevator and was asking for help. They instructed me to tell her to press the elevator emergency alarm button and stated that only an engineer had a key to the elevator. Based on what I observed, no immediate action appeared to be taken. A short time later, my friend called again. She was crying and stated, "Vicky, I can't breathe. I'm going to die in here. I have panic and anxiety attacks. Please help." I immediately informed the front desk staff of what she had said and again requested that they respond urgently because I believed she was experiencing a medical emergency while trapped inside the elevator. By that point, approximately ten minutes had already passed. Throughout this time, my friend continued pressing the elevator emergency alarm. I repeatedly asked the front desk staff to obtain immediate assistance. While doing so, I observed the two employees look at one another, smile, and laugh. Given the circumstances, I found their demeanor to be inappropriate. Eventually, one of the employees made a telephone call. I initially believed he was contacting someone to assist with the elevator. Instead, I later learned that hospital security had been contacted because I had raised my voice while repeatedly asking for help. When it became apparent to me that no immediate action was being taken to free my friend, I went outside and called 911 Then the female officer showed up asked me what was happening, which surprised me because security had already been contacted. Based on what I observed, I did not believe the staff appreciated the urgency of the situation or responded appropriately. While the elevator alarm continued sounding, I observed employees leaving work without anyone appearing to respond to the alarm or attempt to assist. Based on the times known to me, my friend remained trapped in the elevator from approximately 7:42 PM until 8:19 PM, a total of approximately 37 minutes. There were also two police officers present, one female and one male. While my friend was still trapped, they repeatedly questioned me instead of focusing on the emergency. The female officer instructed me to lower my voice. I explained that I had repeatedly requested assistance from the front desk staff but believed no meaningful action had been taken and that I had observed staff smiling and laughing during the incident. Both officers then instructed me to leave the premises and stated that I would be arrested if I refused. At that point, I had already checked in, presented my identification, and was simply attempting to obtain emergency assistance for my friend. According to my friend, she has a history of anxiety and panic attacks. She later told me that while trapped in the elevator she experienced severe anxiety, difficulty breathing, shaking, crying, and believed she might die. By the time the fire department arrived, she had already been released from the elevator. She told me that the elevator suddenly began moving, the doors opened, and a woman who was present asked whether she was all right. When I saw Aines after she exited the elevator, she appeared pale, visibly shaken, sweating, dizzy, short of breath, crying, and emotionally distressed. I also observed a female police officer tell her to calm down despite her apparent distress. The front desk employees involved did not identify themselves or provide their names when requested. I have attached photographs of the individuals I was able to capture for identification purposes. Based on what I personally observed, I believe this incident demonstrated a serious lack of urgency, professionalism, compassion, communication, and appropriate judgment by the staff involved. In a situation involving a person trapped in an elevator who appeared to be experiencing a medical emergency, I expected staff to promptly coordinate an emergency response, communicate with the appropriate personnel, and treat the situation with the seriousness it required. This incident also raises concerns regarding the hospital's emergency procedures for elevator entrapments, including the apparent lack of an immediately available means of releasing trapped occupants or a clearly implemented emergency response protocol. I respectfully request that the hospital conduct a thor
