1. The installed windows and garden doors were very well done with excellent quality 2. We have one oval window that took them 4 tries and 10 months to get the inside frame right. 3. Their communication about the hold up(s) came only after email from us and we ended up threatening them. 10 months later it was done! BEWARE. We are replacing the exterior door and sidelight Ecotech installed a few years ago, They shrunk the door by four inches, making it the size of a standard inside door and refused to fix it when they came to install. We had to accept it because they'd already removed and destroyed the other door and frame in the process. Home Depot is now installing a new, properly-sized door at less than half what we paid EcoTech and less than half what Ecotech wanted to charge to replace the door and correct their own mistake. read more

Windows and doors are not built very good and very expensive. Over charged by at least 10,000 according to other companies. Their advertising is false. After new windows were installed water was coming in every time it rained. They said it was normal.I guess it is normal to keep rags by your new windows to wipe up water when it rains. Had a audit done due to house being colder than usual after new windows and doors were installed . The Sales Rep right up to the manager were rude, condescending and very unprofessional. Despite having a new rep come out to check things out, they still didn't know what was going on. The Rep no longer works there. They completely dropped the ball on our project. Booked work without checking if owners home and available. The door Hardware was not installed properly and we waited over a year for them to come back and install the correct door hardware. The one Screen door has (missing magnets) never worked properly. Worst service I have ever experienced.... didn't complete the install and then thought I should pay to have them finish the job.

Extremely Disappointed!!! This has been a very frustrating experience and I don't want anyone else to go through this. I purchased top of the line steel doors. The double door installation started with a hole cut in the second door that I did not request and the pushbutton keypad installed but not functioning in the primary door. The installers stayed while I ran to the store to get another lock to cover the hole in the second door. The handles were installed unevenly. After two months of back and forth with the service department, the installers returned. The service department would not tell me what the installers were going to do but that the installers would work with a service technician when they arrived. But the installers did not have any intention or instructions to talk with a service technician. Instead they tried to fix the uneven anchors for the handles by drilling the holes bigger. They scratched the paint off the outside of the second door in the process of moving the handle. I hired a locksmith to replace the keypad with one that works (although there are scratches from the first one that are visible) and I'm still trying to buy something to cover the hole in the second door rather than having a dead bolt there that is not functional and doesn't match. But so far I have not been able to find anything in the market place. And notably the paint around that hole is all caving and cracking. I don't know if that is the result of having the door handles moved or if its a problem with the paint. The paint on the doors is not very good. It appears to scratch very easily. Hence my doors are very marked up after only being here 2 months. I would suggest you steer away from this company for doors. I have no experience with them with windows. But if I were buying doors again, I would instead go with a local company that uses local installers and lots of experience doing this kind of work. Service never gets back to me. They say they will and they don't. They say they are going to call and they don't. I call in and they say someone will get back to me and they don't. You cannot call them directly as their phone numbers all go to a central answering service which goes to voice mail most of the time and when you get someone, they take a message which never gets answered. Their service department must be very busy which suggests they have a lot of issues to deal with. Overall...bad experience : steer clear. read more

Had reps for Eco Tech come to our Co-op to measure for window sizes and then install them. I have lived here for 37 years and have never ever encountered the unprofessional, condescending attitude from a tech like I had the day Eco Tech reps came to my unit and my neighbor's unit. I was so scared and taken aback by the man's attitude I even went to the Police to file a complaint! I never saw this guy before, he simply said, "Were coming in!!"...He had no I.D. he never explained for what until I asked and then because of his attitude and lack of professionalism I refused him entry. My neighbor has dementia, he did the same to her.....I am having a meeting with the board of directors here to find out why they would have hired a company like this.. The representative that came for a quote was misogynist, rude, and insulting. I will never give this company my business. I'll explain... My husband had booked a rep to come over to give us a quote. On the day of the appointment, my husband got called into work so wasn't home when the rep arrived. I answered the door and the rep said he would just quickly measure the windows and email us a quote (which sounded great to me as he had arrived late and I was in a rush). But then when he found out my husband wasn't home he said wanted to reschedule. I said it was fine (I didn't want to have to wait for another appointment), however the rep insisted we reschedule and went on to say that I "couldn't possibly retain the amount of technical information he was about share". Warning do not use this company! They use bait and switch tactics to take advantage of seniors on a fixed pension. I told they're sales rep that I had little knowledge of window and door terms and that I would have to rely on his expertise. So, when the electronic contract came with no picture of the door I contacted they're salesman and he assured me the picture in the contract would be the same the one in the quote he had supplied. When the doors were installed, the door was not the same as in the quote. When I contacted the company, they said they would do nothing as I got what was in the contract. Zero stars. Worst company ever. 11 months later and we still have outstanding installation issues. We have three windows so poorly installed (trim and out of square issues) that the shutter manufacturer cannot build or install them until it's corrected. We have two screens provided to them 8 months ago that don't seat correctly. There was the failed install of the patio door in February as well that took them 5 months to return to complete. At that time they gave us the two screens back but they were exactly the same screens with scratches on the colored finish. Clearly they were not repaired as they still didn't seat correctly. The original trim provided for three arched windows was not the proper radius. They attempted to order wood trim, first time it was so warped it was unusable. Second time was the wrong radius. Yet no one has ever taken a template of the radius on these three windows. I'm confident the third try will also fail. One of these windows also has a seal compromised which they have yet to correct although they acknowledge it. During the initial install October 2021, there was a spray foam incident which left the wall stained from the base of the window to the floor. This same foam issue left spray foam on our bed frame and bedspread. They have no showed at least four times. They take weeks to return calls and or emails if they do at all. You have to fight with them to even get a reply let alone a resolution. Mark Ginzberg is the leader here. We spoke twice many months ago but he no longer returns any calls. Just as the rest of the staff, won't return calls or emails. The complete lack of respect or common courtesy from the staff is a direct indication of the leader. At least there is an outstanding balance. Next steps maybe the Toronto Star- the fixer, the BBB and a more serious conversation with my lawyer. I would have paid 10k more not to deal with this company. Steer clear no matter what deal is offered. read more

Horrible Company to work with, do not stand behind their name or Company. If you have an issue it is your problem not theirs. Told me to go find someone in town to do the repair. Opened a case with BBB after first installed as windows would not close took over 6 months to get it fixed. Now have a cracked pain and they will not fix it told me to go find a glass repair shop in town and triple the cost. If I had not followed up on my initial request where they said not a problem, have ordered glass will get it done I would never have known that they now say will not do it. We ordered 2 bay windows on April 27, 2021 with an install date of July 28th, 2021. The installation crew showed up on time only to discover that the windows were not to the specified measurements. We have reached out to EcoTech to keep updated to the progress of our window order only to receive a generic email apologizing for the delay and they will advise us of a new installation date. No customer service rep has tried to contact us and we are now 7 months into a project that should have been completed 4 months ago. While we realize that Covid has delayed some availability of raw material it doesn't appear that our order was given any priority over newer orders. Please avoid this company at all costs. They promise tax rebates yet never come through even when calling numerous times. The owner who was quite nice at first became quite belligerent when I refused to pay for shoddy workmanship. They damaged my counter top and denied doing it. Unfortunately I found out a lot of disparaging information after my installation was done where I should have checked them out before hand. Just stay away as there are a lot more companies with better reputations to deal with. read more

UPDATE: A manager called me after hours today which was greatly appreciated. I am hopeful that this issue will be resolve propmtly! I wish this box allowed more characters - because I would love to include the full version. But here's the Cole's Notes: We had our windows installed 3 years ago - and for the past 2 years have had issues. The pins in the screens of the window have eroded within the first year. When the business came to assess the damage, they took 4 screens with them. Now we are waiting for replacement pins for all of the windows as well as screens for 4 of them. We have been in contact with the business many times. They claim that they have ordered the pins but are unsure of where to source out the screens and now - 2 years after the first issue - want us to source the screens out ourselves. Initially, we were told the screens they took were sitting in an employee's office. Then the story changed to the screens were damaged in the truck. I have repeatedly been told I cannot speak with a manager or owner in my attempts to resolve this issue independently. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. I am a patient woman, as is my mom. However, I feel like she is being taken advantage of and I am at a loss as to what we can do. My mom has been through so much and I am tired of people trying to take advantage of her. My mom is a 61-year-old widow. She has chronic health issues including but not limited to COPD, Asthma, and heart conditions, and she cannot even open her windows because the screens are missing to get fresh air into the house. This is not only posing a risk to her health, but also her safety, the safety of my nephews and my dogs. If someone opened that window - it is a two story drop to the ground. I believe I need not to expand on that thought any further. I am hoping that by reaching out and exposing this company for what they are that it will not only resolve the issue but prevent it from happening in the future to anyone else. As per the Better Business Bureaus reports, there are other customers experiencing negative issues with this company. I understand we are in a pandemic and life is very challenging, but we have been more than accommodating. My final question is, how difficult is it for a company to fix their errors and rectify a situation posing IMMEDIATE health and safety concerns to their customers who have spent approximately $12,000? read more

We are horrified at our experience with Ecotech. We were screwed around, lied to, and lost thousands in revenue for days we missed off work to be home for installations that never happened because Ecotech kept dropping the ball and cancelling hours after teams were supposed to be on site. Mark the owner will not get back to you even after promising a reply. Michael the GM can't even manage to address an email. You'll be told you'll get a discount to make up for all these mistakes, and then Mark and Michael will say no because... they're that cheap? Do yourself a BIG favour and shop anywhere but here. We had someone from this company give us a window quote in mid-November- so precovid- on a Saturday morning. We had a few issues, and I will relay them all issue by issue for the sake of ensuring clear communication. Honestly if the rep had handled the below issues better, he would have gotten the sale. He claimed there was a TAX rebate. After he left, we called a tax company and they said there were no tax rebates available at the moment for window installations. So we called the salesman and NOW he claims it was a MANUFACTURERS rebate. We asked more questions and found out that the program did not start for another month. I asked him how I would qualify for the rebate if I purchased the windows now. He said not to worry about it because he does all the paperwork. Please note: the company has replied to this by saying there was a confusion between tax rebates and save the tax. We were told by the rep that we would QUALIFY FOR BOTH. There was no confusion on our end. I file my family taxes, and taxes for a charity. I know the difference! He also quoted us on a different model then what we wanted. The model we wanted was one with a crescent glass but offered privacy because of the location of the glass. He quoted us for a style that had oval glass and was primarily glass- it would not have offfered us any privacy or security. We mentioned this mistake also while on the phone with him and asked about the price difference- the one he quoted us for had a lot more glass then the style we wanted. He said they were the same price. After the phone conversation, I did not trust him, so I emailed him Sunday night saying we did not want to hire them. On Monday, we got a phone call letting us know he got my email and now the door we wanted was $100 cheaper (Remember- earlier he had said it was the same price. Now after loosing the sale, it was cheaper). If this salesman was trustworthy, he would have asked me to give him some time to check it out instead of giving me an answer immediately. Please note: the reponse to this from Ecotech is that he gave me the right price in the end, but in reality, that was not his first reaction to the mistake. His first response was incorrect information. I see that as being crooked, and do not feel as if the salesman had any committment to truth or communicating it. When he was there in person, we filled out the financing paperwork with the understanding that we had a few days to think about it- he came on Saturday and we thought we had until Monday. He was pushy about the sale and told us that he could only save the tax for us if he had our sale by Monday. After cancelling the sale, we also got a notification that our credit had been checked, which means that he did not keep his promise to hold off. Please note: Ecotech has responded to this by admitting that they file things the day of. The problem is that the guy who came to our home made a verbal promise to us, and this makes us wonder what else he incorrectly promised. The reason why he promised to hold off the filing of the paperwork was because we were not willing to fill anything out originally- we told him it was OUR POLICY that we do not fill anything out before we have had a chance to think about it, and we were READY TO END THE MEETING! The only reason why we went back on our policy is because he promised us that he would give us the rest of Saturday up until Monday (48 hours) to think about it. However, if we wanted to save the tax we had to fill out the paperwork THAT DAY, otherwise after Monday he could not give us that promotion. It was his idea to hold off on filing the paperwork until Monday. If it is company policy to file paperwork immediately, then he should have not have suggested that solution- or promise. But then that would have meant that he would have driven over an hour and come back empty handed- or have to drive it a second time when we were ready to fill out the paperwork. Two weeks later, they were still offering the save the tax- the offer that he insisted that he could not give to us unless we filled out the paperwork that day and let him know in 48 hours. I would also like to mention that the salesman did a measure on our windows. We wanted 6 windows replaced, and all 6 of the measurements Ecotech did were incorrect- the company we hired measured them twice so we know what the correct size is. We have had the windows for 6 months and the ones they installed were perfect- no drafts or problems! It does not surprise me that Ecotech customers have had problems with their windows- we would have! These guys are super sneaky! Beware! We hired a company who made 5 trips from London to our home 1 hour away: 1 for the quote, 1 to fill out the paperwork (with no sales tactics or pressure), 1 as a second measure, 1 to install the windows, 1 to finish the job. We are VERY happy we did not choose Ecotech. I DO NOT TRUST THEM! And btw- our company was cheaper in the end, despite Ecotech's promos! read more

We decided we did not want to do business with them after the sales consultation. Why? Because we found the saleman, Mike S., to lack honesty, integrity and product knowledge. This occurred November 16-19th, 2019. We caught a few things that did not sit well with us and I will explain how each of these things played out over the course of these few days. Situation one: Saturday morning during consulation: He promised us up to 25% back on our taxes because of a program. We checked it out. We could not find any program like that. We even called a rep from an organization that files taxes to check it out! Saturday afternoon: We called him back and inquired on speakerphone. We were told it was a new program that starts in a month but we would still reap the benefits of the program EVEN though we signed up before the program started. Sunday: Told him we did not want to hire Ecotech. Monday: Mike left a voicemail informing us it was a manufacture's rebate of $100 off per window. I am glad we did not continue any further, as I would have been very angry at tax time-his semantics made it sounds like we would be getting WAY more back! and a tax rebate is not the same thing as a manufacture's rebate! We felt very mislead by his statement. Situation 2: Saturday during consultation: He also us a quote for an exterior door and he quoted us on the wrong model. The model we wanted was more door than glass by a significant margin. I even had pictures of models we liked from brochures I had found while shopping at Home Improvement stores. I showed him those pictures and explained we like that the glass was higher, which made us feel like it offered more privacy. The model he quoted us on was one of those doors which was about half glass, and anyone knocking on our door would know we were there. Saturday afternoon: Informed him the he quoted the wrong model and asked how much cheaper the door we wanted was. He told us it was the same price. No indication he would be looking into anything or open to adjusting the price. Sunday: Told him we did not want to hire Ecotech. Monday: Left voicemail telling us that the door we wanted was $100 cheaper than what he quoted us. I have my suspicions that he would not have told us about the price difference if I had been ok with paying the price he quoted. I also have my suspicions that the price difference is more than $100. Situation 3: Saturday during consulation: The arrangement we had made with Mike was that we would fill out the paperwork, but that he was not to do anything until Monday. (He was pressuring us to know within 24 hours, and only extended it to 48 when we told him we had a lot going on in the next 24 hours and may not be able to get back to him) Sunday night: emailed to tell him we would not be hiring Ecotech. Monday: Mike left a voicemail saying that he could cancel everything without a problem and then continued to tell me the discounts mentioned above. Those discounts in total meant we would be saving $700 dollars. Tuesday: I got a credit alert on Tuesday saying the company that does the customer financing inquired on my credit report. So just to recap- he promised not to do anything until he heard back from us by Monday, we told him NO before the next business day, and yet he continued to try to process our financing. That financing was only required if we hired Ecotech, so once I said no deal, he had no business giving our information to the company. Situation 4: Tuesday: I emailed Mike and told him again we would not be hiring Ecotech, despite the newly found discounts and that we are very angry with him for all this. I even told him we wanted nothing to do with him. Wednesday: He phoned me today and acknowledged me email. In the first breath, he apologized, and in the second breath, he justified what he was trying to do. His voicemail came across insincere, more like a ploy to get my business. We would give him a rating in the negatives if we could. I have only known the guy for 5 days and we did not even buy the product! I cannot comment on the quality of the actual product. Mike has said fantastic things about their products, but I do not trust him and so I will not hire this company, PERIOD! I do not recommend setting up a consultation. There are other companies out there that will give you a quote without so many problems. We have talked to 4 other companies. This was the only one that pressured us into a time frame that we had to decide by. He originally wanted us to tell him within 24 hours of the consultation, but we asked if we could hold off until Monday. FYI- The guys we decided to go with patiently answered our questions for over a week. No pressure, no time frames, no attitude. Dealing with Mike made it very easy to sign on with another company! read more

Window quality seems okay, but very poor installation workmanship and finishing. Didn't clean up site. Made a huge mess inside the property when cutting in new windows and never cleaned up. Took forever to correct major errors and still haven't finished all problems. Service manager is brutal and completely fabricates stories to get out of his problems. Extremely dishonest company. Have no idea how they are still in business. If you end up using them be very careful with your documentation and make sure you withhold money until everything is complete. read more
