This place is an oasis from the suburbia that is lower Seattle. The greenery driving in is incredible and the views from the shore are picturesque. This is as close to a beach as you're going to get in Seattle and is not far from the airport. read more

Cutesy park with easy parking, a playground, and the beach. The playground is on the smaller side but did entertain my twins for a couple of hours. I loved that the restrooms were nearby and well kept. Easy place to have a picnic and let the kiddos play. Once they were bored of the playground, they went to the beach, and then hit the playground again. I wish there were more swings available. read more

Ah, Seahurst Park at sunset--a hidden gem where Burien's finest gather to watch the sun dip beyond the Olympics. Unlike the chaotic circus that is Golden Gardens, this park offers a serene escape without the volleyball bros and bonfire smoke. The beach is pristine, the trails are a workout disguised as nature walks, and the parking? Let's just say it's a test of patience. But once you're there, it's all worth it. Decent park thats behind a neighborhood. My fiance and I always come here when we have to dogsit our nephew or when we just want to enjoy a beautiful sunset to start/end our night. Dogs are allowed here but they are to stay on a leash. However, I do see dogs let loose so they can swim and play with their owners. Some people mind and some dont so be mindful of your surroundings. The entrance closes/locks at dusk, but sometimes they will put a sign saying a specific time they will close. There is parking available right in front of the beach front but its small so I always recommend when entering, take the first parking lot you see on the left as there is a ton of availability. Difference is a walk downhill to the park but a walk uphill to leave. It isnt too steep of a hill but I would keep this in mind if this is may be a bother to you. read more

I came here based on recommendation and to go during low tide. I didn't realize I went during on of the year's lowest tides! The park is not hard to find. There is an upper and lower parking lot. There's plenty of parking, but you're better off parking in the upper lot and walking down. It's a short walk. The beach here is so nice. It's nice scenic beach with drift wood, peddles, and sand once was the tides are low. There were so many sea creatures! This was the first time I saw a starfish in the wild and it was super memorable. Reminder to be gentle, touch with one finger, and never take anything out from the beach besides trash. There was so much to see it was overwhelming. I highly recommend coming here. read more

Seahurst Park is a popular and beautiful park right along the shore. There are plenty of places for picnics, playgrounds, or just taking a stroll and enjoying the beautiful views of the water. Parking can get crowded (I was there on a nice weekend afternoon) but it was well worth it to stop by! read more

Beautiful beach park with views of the Puget Sound. On a clear, sunny day, this is an ideal place to spend all day outside by the water. The Ed Munro Seahurst Park is located on the west end of Burien. I would highly recommend checking it out if you haven't visited before. We came here on a Saturday when it was sunny. Around the early afternoon, the place was already busy; yet, with how spacious the park is, it didn't feel crammed. We were easily able to find parking in the main parking lot on the upper end when you first enter the park. There is a small parking lot right next to the beach with a turn-around, ideal for drop-offs, but know that those spots get taken first. Get here early if you don't want to park on the upper end, as it's a walk up the hill from the beach. The park is big. There was a lot of space for us to claim a spot along the beach. We visited during low tides, which was ideal for our dog who isn't a swimmer, but she likes to gently put her paws in the water. And with the sun hitting the Sound, the shallow had water warm, which was nice to go barefoot in. We spotted a lot of crabs in the water and birds catching them for food. I just love how dog-friendly this park is, with many dogs along the shore and in the water! Because of the pandemic, the public restrooms were closed, but there was a handful of honeybuckets and a handwash station nearby the main entrance of the park. There was a playground area, as well as a few picnic shelters with BBQ grills. Throughout the park were trails in the wooded area that were easy to walk along, if you need a break from the water. We had a nice time here. I rarely am down in the Burien area, but I'm glad to have visited and learned about this park, which I'd come back to. read more

This beach park is absolutely stunning. My family and I are planning on taking some photos here. I cannot wait. It'd be especially beautiful with some of the drift wood in the shots along the shore. I don't know the specifics but fully trust the photographer to do a fabulous job as he comes highly recommended by my family. I hope it'll be low tide so that we can explore the tide pools together. I like that there are 2 lots and that they are both easily accessible. I don't know where else you can go and get this kind of a view of the puget sound on a clear day. Seriously this park is wonderful. It is located on the west end of Burien. Grab a coffee and bring your sudoku, word search, crossword or whatever you do . . . relax and enjoy the view. This park is really cool we love coming down here with and without our dogs. Great lil hill hikes to specially if you trying to get a workout on. So they have bathrooms here which are very clean. They have areas you can get to have family and friends over to bbq for any situation. They also have a lil kid park with swings and slides and fun stuff like that for the little ones. Beautiful place to get tons of amazing views for really good pictures. Take your dates on a nice walk thru the woods. They only bad thing is people are breaking into cars while you go to the park. So be aware and put all belongings away from a thief's view. It suck people gotta try to ruin google things. Just look alive. And they have tons of parking as well on the top lot. Bottom lot is smaller. Great trails thru the hills you can go through. Very dog friendly just make sure you keep them on a leash and do your part and clean the dog messes up. It's located back behind a residential area in burien. It's like a hidden gem. They have multiple ways to walk/hike thru the park. So please do your part and help keep it clean and enjoy your time here. It's a very peaceful place to go and relax to. Also no discover pass needed. And it closes at dusk so around 8. read more

What a beautiful park and so close to Seattle! I had looked up parks with tidepools and this was one of the ones that turned up - unfortunately we weren't able to come during low tide but it was still a great place to hang out. There's a long beach with lots of rocks, shells, etc to explore and great views. There is a playground that appears to be open as well. Most people were wearing masks so that was good to see. I think we'll definitely come back when it's low tide to see what kind of sea life we can find read more

This is a nice place to stop to enjoy beautiful Washington nature! While there are forested trails to enjoy, the main draw is the beach - definitely a nice place to go in the summer. You can go quite away down the beach (though it's less than a mile), view a variety of plants and animals when the tide is low, and even reserve picnic tables for that fun summer party! read more

In our instance, no valuables left in the car and multiple vehicles at one time. If you don't want to pay for new windows, I'd suggest not visiting. Like most parks with a Sound view, this place offers plenty of natural beauty. The beach, that is mostly gravel & rounded stones, is narrow but long with lots of driftwood logs to sit on that add to the natural setting. There are 2 covered areas with about 4-5 picnic tables each, that can be reserved for larger parties. Also has another 10-15 standalone concrete picnic tables scattered along the path that runs the length of the park along the waterfront. Parking close by is limited with more in a second lot about a quarter mile up the road that is rather isolated & subject to higher security risks. Good place to view sunsets if that's in your interest. Nice place if you're in the area but wouldn't travel too far to get to this place. read more

What a hidden gem!! Off of Ambaum, you take a couple of random turns, go down a long road through the forest, and out of nowhere there is a freaking huge parking lot. How intriguing! Continue down the road even more and you end up at this GORGEOUS beach park, offering 1000+ feet of waterfront, swings, a playground, public restrooms, benches, and tons of driftwood to sit on. The view is simply spectacular. Picture Alki. Now add way more driftwood to the beach, subtract all the houses and businesses, bring a forest right up to the beach, and you've got it! I'm in love!! If I could make up a beach park, it would be something just like this. I could not believe that I have driven by so many times without even knowing that this park existed! A new favorite! read more

Huge shoreline park with picnic tables, bbq's, and shelters. Tons of driftwood logs to perch. Fun to walk along the beach stretch. Some wooded walking paths. Plenty of parking and multiple lots to do so. *I noticed most of the population here was smoking... Not a turn on. Some evidence of park violation: alcoholic beverage litter, cigarette butts. I'd think kids would love it here, but for the reasons above it may not be the right place for them. :( read more

The park is a strip of sandy reef curling around the water. The walk down is alongside a deep and heavily wooded forest that is great if you like to hike for real. There is plenty of parking which is nice on the hot days. The park is great for barbecuing and many people take advantage of the free picnic areas and firepits. The view is amazing and you can see most of the peninsula as well as part of the city in the distance. Its a great destination for those looking to rock collect, scour for sea life or metal detect the beaches! Some people like to swim here but for me it's a little too rocky with a bit too much seaweed so its more of a walk-along-the beach kind of place. The sunsets here are gorgeous as well. Its a little hidden gem of a park in Burien and definitely one of my favorite spots within the city!! read more

I love Seahurst Park! The park is a thin strip of roughly 2000 feet of waterfront on beautiful Puget Sound and offers a true Northwest beach experience. We're not talking sand - we are talking barnacle covered rocks, seaweed of all different types, clams, sand-dollars, starfish, octopi, sea cucumbers, and so much more! The park offers an AMAZING free naturalist program. If you call ahead you can request a trained naturalist to come along for a beach walk with your group and help you understand what you are seeing. This was a HUGE hit with my Day Camp kids. The park also has bathrooms and a fantastic big toy. You can choose to walk on the beach or on a path on top of a bulkhead. I'm told that there is a decaying wooden boat somewhere on the beach hidden below the water which is a treat for scuba/snorkelers alike. Parking can be challenging during the summer - but the park is worth it! read more

Seahurst Park is a great beach park tucked away in Burien. Over the last decade its underwent a number of renovations/restoration projects to clean up the shoreline, make it look better, and make it a better beach/park for families. Seahurst Park is a great place to sit on the beach and enjoy the waves, toss rocks, or spend time with friends and family. There's a playground for the kiddos, a shore-line trail that runs the length of the beach, a number of canopies/covered-areas for barbecues and parties, as well as other pathways through the adjacent wooded areas. The main beach area is your typical PNW beach with gray sand, small rocks, and sticks here and there. The water is 40-45 degrees the entire year, so it's not a place where I'd volunteer to swim, but to each their own. It's a really good park to take your kids, let them play on the beach, build sand castles and play in the small streams that are just off the water. It's also a good place to take them to play on the playground while you take in the view of the water. Beyond that, the beach itself is fairly long, so it's also a nice place to come and relax by yourself or with friends, away from the crowded main area. There's a gravel/rock pathway that runs the length of the beach/shoreline, so if you're not wanting to walk on the beach you can take the trail/pathway instead. The only real downside to this park is that there are a limited number of parking spots in the lower area, so there's a good chance you're going to have to park above and walk down to the beach, which is about a quarter mile hike down a hill (that's paved) and then walk back up it on the way back. The beach could've definitely used more parking - but I'm sure the layout of the land prevents it. All-in-all, it's one of my favorite beach parks in Seattle - I am biased though since I'm from Burien. If I'm not going to Alki and I'm south of Seattle, then I'm heading to Seahurst if I want to get some time at the beach. read more

BEWARE!! Within 20 minutes of our plane landing in Seattle, most of our luggage was stolen out of the trunk. It was 9 in the morning. We left our car uphill in the designated parking. We were gone for about 7 minutes. That's all it took to smash out our windows and peel back the cars interior to the trunk, taking all our clothes, shoes, wallet, and an engagement ring, (talk about an upsetting proposal). The police told us this happens at least weekly. There are no cameras or security, so we will never get back what was stolen from us. It kills me to relive how much they tooI, but I can at least hope this saves you some grief if you consider going to this terrible place , (yes, it is beautiful - a perfect ploy to keep you distracted). read more

If I had reviewed this park as a kid, I would have given it a 5 star rating, but they've changed a lot of things since then. They took out the seawall (apparently, it was environmentally unsound) which was great to walk along. They have improved the restrooms, and the views are as nice as before. I'm disappointed that the trails in the woods above the beach are no longer maintained. My friends and I spent many summer afternoons roaming those trails, exploring the woods. Now the trails are mostly overgrown, the bridges installed by park personnel have collapsed. I hope someday they have the funds to restore the trails and bridges. read more

Limited parking near the beach. Contractors will building some sort of retaining wall thus taking up quite a few of the limited parking stalls. Parking in upper lot is a LONG walk down hill to the beach and even longer up hill. Especially if you have children with you. The ocean is BEAUTIFUL. The beach...there are definately better ones; in Washington even. The biggest downfall is the parking though. The trek up and down the hill carrying kids, supplies and food can be exhausting. SO, I guess the positive would be if you are looking for exercise then this is the place to be. Park up top and start walking up and down, up and down. Don't forget your cell phone though just in case you may need to call medical aid for shortness of breath or a faster than normal heart beat. read more

One of my most favorite places to go. Not much parking down at the bottom but there's an upper lot to park and you can walk down. Low tide is good I have found many seashells, sand dollars, and sea glass. There are many picnic shelters that you can use close to the restroom facilities and playground area. You can you cross the bridge near the creek and there are other picnic areas but no bathroom facilities and you'll have to walk all the way to the other side to use the restroom that is the only downfall. Other than that this is great place to just relax, get full sun most of the day. Just beautiful since the renovation. read more

we were there for an hour, beach was beautiful. But our car got window smashed (and the car next to us, and there was a broken glass on the ground near by). It is not worth driving windowless in the rain with a kid for a beach outing. I think it's an ongoing issue no one is doing anything about. Keep your cars open people, i guess. read more

Seahurst Park is one of my favorite local parks. Located on the beaches of Burien, this park is a common destination for both the immediate neighborhood and locals all around. The parking here is pretty decent, but there are some transit options if you want to avoid driving. The best way to get here is definitely by bicycle, as you can get through all the local areas on some decent bike trails and get to enjoy the view at a more leisurely pace. It takes some time to get down to the beach from the entrance, but get parking sooner rather than later because there is no real parking options at the end of the drive unless you're extremely lucky. The rocky shores of Washington have all the classic habitats here. You will hopefully find a wide variety of wildlife here from birds, to sea stars, to shellfish. There is a stream that is also leading into the Sound along with some short trails for you to explore the vegetation here. Most people stick to the beach area, walking dogs and/or children along the well kept path. Some people will also break out some grilling equipment and have a party here on a nice summer day. When the days are at their hottest, the crowds will be large here, and you will see plenty of children and adults braving the waters. This is also the only park I've been maliciously attacked by ducks, but since then we have called a truce so no further hostilities occur. Definitely one of my more favorite spring time destinations, but I can't complain any time of the year. I'll be back. read more

What a beautiful location for picnic and family fun. Our non profit organization rented a space 6 months out for only $90. Tons of picnic tables and bbq grills... beach setting, playground for kids, walks for the adults and bathrooms for everyone. It's just a lovely and clean park. I would recommend it for family outings, company events or even birthday parties. Heck even just to watch the waves. Could be romantic... Warning: the gates close when they say they close so don't get stuck otherwise you'll have to pay big time to get your car out. read more
