Went in for a simple braid and beach curls for my wedding. Informed Mary in advance what I was looking for so they would have an idea upon my arrival of my wedding day. I made appointments for me and my little sister for 10:30 ma The guy that did my hair kept teasing my hair & spraying an excessive amount of hairspray while putting my hair up and taking it down for 2 hours and asked "Oh, you want curls in it too?" The pictures I demonstrated clearly shows curly hair. After 2 hours (12:30pm) I had to tell him he still needs to do my sister's hair and the wedding starts at 2. We still needed to drive down Sandfiddler 4x4 area (30 min drive) location. He only had time to curl my sister's hair but left many straight strands. I left with my hair in a complete mess w hair pins all over visible all over. I had to tear it out in the truck otw to my location. I also had to redo it myself. I had to do this without having the time to wash out the product that made undoing what he did nearly impossible ... bc of the mess he created with my "easy/less than one hour hair style" - I ended 1 hour late to my own wedding! And not happy at all with my hair for my big day...due to not having time to get it exactly done the way I wanted it in the 1st place. And still paid $200. Not good for sure!! Haven't done many reviews but this time I was angry. November, 2023. We had an 11:30 appointment. It was confirmed just two days earlier. When I arrived on time, the lights were off. No one was there. The doors were locked. I waited thinking they might be late. Nope !! Not even a phone call. I was outraged because I really needed this appointment and hurried to get there. Customer service is very important. And I was appalled I didn't even get a cancellation phone call- not good. This is the worst salon experience I have ever had. Beth was my hair dresser and she left me with chemically fried hair. She gave me nothing even close to what I asked for and in the middle of doing my hair she was cutting someone elses hair, therefore allowing the bleach on my head to fry my hair. I have ended up having to cut off several inches off my hair because of the damage. I have attempted to contact the owner and I have YET to get a reply from her which is extremely unprofessional. I would never reccomend this salon to anyone. I except more from an aveda salon. Because now I am left with chemically burned orange hair. Worst experience I have ever had. read more

I waited until the last minute to make an appointment for my wedding hair, and by the time I got around to it, most places I called were booked. Eden Day Spa was able to get me plus four bridesmaids in on a Sunday morning. They opened up just for us. The reviews made me nervous at first, but after reading them more closely, I saw that all the hair reviews were really high. Rightly so. We really couldn't have been more pleased, and I have to say- Rose is just such a champ. She had plenty of valid personal reasons to stay home that day, but she came in anyway so we'd have enough hands on deck that Sunday morning. We really appreciated her toughing it out. I hope she treated herself afterwards to a long nap. Rose did both my hair and makeup. I have a lot of hair- a LOT- and she managed to get it into an updo that held up for the entire day and looked great with my veil. For my makeup, Rose knocked it out of the park too- she brought to life exactly what I wanted, even though I'm not someone who normally wears make up. My eyes are super sensitive- they will twitch at the lightest touch. Rose put up with my stupid tick and somehow managed to make them look great Rose rocks. I was so grateful she was there that day. Araceelis (Iris is how it was pronounced) was amazing! My mom and I wanted to squeeze in a gel mani while we were here and tried to get in to beach nails. I am glad we walked around the corner to Eden. They were super accommodating and they got us in right away! Iris was so friendly and kept a conversation with us the entire time. I was able to make a same day appointment for a blow out. Upon walking into the salon, there was no one there at reception to check me. 10minutes later someone finally checked me in. I had been told on the phone that a blow out for long hair was $35. The styling team seemed to be put off that I was as there. She announced only having 45 minutes and that my hair was not only long but thick. The blow out was ok, I'm leaving 2 stars because my husband complimented me on my hair. However, when I went to check out, the cost was $45 instead of $35 because she used a flat iron for a few minutes. I wasn't ever given the option and never told it influenced the price. Trying to check out, the receptionist was more preoccupied with the person he had on the phone that checking me out. Service here stinks, I would stay away. read more

I don't usually give harsh reviews. First, the positive. They were so flexible booking...very responsive. My only concern is when we mentioned we may want acrylics if some nails get broken, the receptionist said "oh no problem". We arrive promptly, they take us back for our nails. This is great! I think to myself :) Aveda concept salons really can't be beat...usually. Well the excitement stops there. For a "spa pedicure", the chair was delightful but that was the best part of the experience. They barely scrubbed my calluses which were about a month past due from a pedicure, the massage consisted of rubbing lotion on your legs for about 30 seconds. No salt scrub. No hot towels. No massage. My mother was also cut while they were trimming cuticles on her foot... she was not happy. Just wait til I tell you how much we paid.... Well, i would say it was great but by the end of the day when I got a good look at my toes (which were fine when we left an hour after they were done) not one, but BOTH of my big toes were ruined... not good for a beach wedding. I had to do ER nail fixing on the day of. I'm so shocked, I've never had a pedicure last less than 2 weeks before I mess it up! They don't use any type of UV drying system for nails unless you do shellac. Fast forward to everyone elses' manicures before I get into my own shellac battle. Water they soaked our hands in was cold... usually it's slightly warm and soapy. That's fine, no big deal. But again, my mom's cuticles were cut and she's bleeding...YET AGAIN! Everyone seemed fine, but again, no massage,nothing. Well, I was informed when I wanted acrylic/gel since I broke a nail 2 week prior that they don't do that in their spa. Really? would have been nice to know when I booked the appointments. So it was Shellac or bust at this point. I didn't have any time to go anywhere else. Well, while she was "baking" my nails. she baked a brush hair into it. I had to fight to get it corrected. She refused to correct the brush hair she baked into the clear part of my nail. $210 dollars for 3 "spa" pedis, 2 manis and 1 shellac. No discount considered for making my mother bleed on both her hand and her feet. I can only say I'm happy that they continually sterilized their equipment. My mother and sister were $60 each for a mani and pedi. I pay that price for a whole lot more in Northern Virginia. We paid 90 for my shellac and pedi... usually I pay 80 here in NoVA. I can't attest to the hair quality. But go somewhere else for your nails. That's my advice, Brides. read more

I recieved a 90 minute massage and it was definitely the worst I ever had. It was pricey and disappointing. It felt like they massaged this one spot on my neck for 20-30 minutes. I seriously thought the therapist had dosed off. My neck was perfectly fine when I came in but was then sore for 2 days after. I also told them my lower back was a trouble area. So he completely avoided that area. I had to ask towards the end of the massage if he could work on my lower back! Also the massage rooms are more like a cubicle and you can hear everything going on around you. The temperature was very warm and a lot of hot rags were used during the massage. I typically always run cold and I was uncomfortable and sweating. I left feeling agitated that my back felt no better and I now had a stiff neck. I will definitely not return and will not recommend to anyone. read more

While the staff was nice, the manicures & pedicures were not at the level that I've come to expect from Aveda level spas/salons. The price points are way off for what you get - no massage, no scrub. My mom and I decided to get our very first pedicures while on vacation. I looked up places on yelp and saw that Eden had mixed reviews. Well unfortunately we got to experience the bad side. Yes we only got the express pedicures but it was very rushed. The girl doing my pedicure didn't even tell me that mine was over. She just walked away. My mom was left to take out the cotton from her toes. Not even three hours later, my mom's pedicure was ruined. I don't think hers ever fully set up. We have just used Eden Day Spa for my sons wedding. We booked well in advance and paid a deposit. There were about 10 people in our party and the staff were very friendly and accommodating of all our needs, including last minute changes. We mainly had hair and make up with one or two manicure/pedicure. Everyone was pleased with the result. I was unsure of my hair do......not quite what I had in mind and I had a hard time explaining what I wanted. However, the make up I had was superb. Very natural, not at all heavy and well done. Overall I was pleased, and the experience as a whole was good. I liked that the salon was spacious and that the staff were ready to go once we arrived. read more

By far the worst gel manicure I have ever gotten. Set aside the fact that the woman couldn't do a french manicure with the gel polish - I appreciate her honesty so I elected to just get a color. 90 min massage. Seems like things haven't changed much from previous reviews. Music is loud to cover up regular ambient noise. Lots of doors closing, well slamming and the walls aren't very sturdy. The therapist did work some back areas but seemed to be passively rubbing calves not really a massage. Lots of hot towels, I thought they smelled like wet tube socks after being worn all day. Was pricey. Overall it was a C- If you can try else where I suggest try ! Lesson learned! read more

One person in the group was unhappy with her color and her nail tech had left. The other employees were more than happy to fix the problem. At 11:35 on Monday I received a phone stating Heather was running behind due to a wedding party. I can understand how that could happen. Visiting the outer banks for a wedding my wife and I where looking for a place to have our hair done for the event. I called on Tuesday and had no problem getting an apt for friday. When we got there we where greeted right away by a nice gentleman who offered us beverages. We waited maybe 2 min before we where called and we both had wonderful friendly girls do our hair. Our hair was done just as we asked. We are very happy with the results and would absolutely reccomend using them if your looking for a place to have your hair done for a wedding or event. read more

I paid for a spa pedicure $65 and had to pay an additional $30 for a French tip gel manicure....I was told this upfront but it was raining and I had time so I thought why not. The lady was very nice but once she was done I thought WOW....my nail salon at home does 100 times better than that for a regular pedicure and I proceeded to look online for the description of the spa pedicure on their website and it stated that it included a massage and paraffin. Well, if you count just applying lotion for 30 seconds as a massage then we need to talk. No paraffin. On to the manicure which was an additional $45 because again I had gel and French tip to my fingernails as well. No soaking of my fingernails before she started working on them, again if you count putting on lotion for 30 seconds as a massage we really reallly need to talk. She didn't even get the gel completely down to my cuticle. I was just passing through so unable to return to the spa. I called and left a voicemail on Friday and didn't receive a return call until Tuesday.... 4 days. All I got was an apology that their service didn't meet my expectations and that their spa pedicure doesn't include paraffin. I told her that that is not what their website said was included in a spa pedicure. I told her about no soaking my nails, etc. Just an apology. $150 and I feel totally ripped off! I asked for a partial refund but she says she would talk to the owner. She asked if I was still in the area.... I called 4 days ago so no I am not. Eden Day Spa and Salon, at 817 Ocean Trail, Corolla, NC, is a business that you should avoid at all costs. These people are unbelievable. My wife and my stepdaughters went to this spa to prepare for my stepdaughter's wedding. And they looked lovely for the wedding. The problem is with this spa's policy--or lack of policy--regarding payment. They charged my wife $295 for services, and my wife tipped each of the five stylists. However, when we checked our credit card debit slip, we found an extra $115 charged to our card! Turns out that the daffy receptionist who charged my wife forgot to charge for make-up for one of my stepdaughters. They also tacked on an additional $65 charge for hair for the groom's mother--which she had already paid for! And here's the kicker: they just charged these to the card without first contacting us or the bride (who's phone number they certainly had). We have a receipt for $345, and the credit card charge that showed up on our account was $460. Unreal. Then, when my wife calls to find out why we were overcharged without our knowledge--after paying, mind you--the receptionist tells us that they forgot to charge for the makeup service, $65. And, of course, the receptionist has a gigantic attitude, which my wife has to deal with. We were finally refunded the $65 in hair charges for the groom's mom, which she had already paid for. If we hadn't checked our credit card bill closely, we would have never found out about these extra charges that were made to our credit card without our permission or knowledge. What kind of business is this? Do yourself a favor and stay away from Eden Day Spa and Salon. If you're forced to go there--and that's what it would take for us to ever, ever use this place again--do yourself a favor and pay in cash. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER BECAUSE THEY WILL PLACE CHARGES ON YOUR CARD WITHOUT YOUR APPROVAL! read more

I had such a great experience at Eden Spa in Corolla. I can't thank them enough for all their help getting ready for my wedding, especially my technician Rose. She did such an amazing job on my hair and makeup. She turned my thick and tangled hair into a beautiful work of art and she applied my makeup just how I wanted it, light and natural. Rose was easy to work with and a pleasure to talk to. She simply asked what I wanted and delivered amazing results, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Very unprofessional! As a loyal AVEDA product consumer, this is one of the few, if only, options I have to use an Aveda "Concepts" Salon in the outer banks. I went in to this salon two days ago in hopes to cover a few greys, get a trim, and go to a basic, fall, natural brown. What I ended up with was a level 3 near black color that made me look washed out, pale, and near gothic. I called immediately after arriving home and seeing the damage (since my hair was not blown out in the salon, it is an up charge to see the finished work) and was told to come back in two days for corrective coloring. Fast forward to my second appointment, in which I was made to feel uncomfortable as I hear other stylists commenting on how "great" and "healthy" my too dark hair color was and was told that I should have mentioned having had color on my hair prior to my initial appointment. (You ARE the stylist, this is something that should be asked upfront) Then I sat through 2 hours of hard bleach highlights to lighten my color to the way it originally was, before my initial appointment. I did end up happy with the final color results, but it caused major damage on my once healthy hair. I was then told after my blow out that I was not getting charged for the "blow dry because I had to come back" however I was charged 70$ for the corrective color!! In any service, if you make a mistake, you do NOT charge to fix it! I will not be back to this salon, or any of the other Eden salons on the outer banks. read more

Got a mediocre massage while in town on vacation. The masseur was cordial but not friendly. I expected a consultation, but there was none. In fact there was almost no communication at all, and this lack included neglect of my indicated target area. Moreover, I sensed that he lacked real skill at massage; his movements were sporadic, sometimes lingering and (overly) firm but other times fleeting and only glancing. I wanted to relax but I couldn't get there. Most generally, the etiquette of the salon staff overall left something to be desired. The front desk person was smoking on a personal call immediately outside the salon when I arrived, and the furnishings looked dusty and relatively spare. It was not a luxe Aveda spa and salon like I'm used to. I would be unlikely to visit again. read more

Visited Eden Day Spa while on vacation with family. All of us decided on pedicures but were disappointed. My nail tech was very rough and filed my nails too short. She over painted each nail, explaining it was her technique for covering the entire nail! She tried to clean up the skin with polish remover but the end result was sloppy. And after 5 days my toes are still tender when I try to wear closed toe shoes! Other family members complained that their nails were either uneven from thick polish or that the bottom of their feet were still rough. None of us received any additional pampering, such as foot or leg message, which is usually done even in the chain type salons. Not sure why this business uses the word "spa" in the name-it is misleading. Better to save your money and buy a good bottle of polish! read more

My sister-in-law treated ourselves to facials while on vacation. The spa area is one large space with partitions dividing each "room". Friends, this is not the place to go! Six of us (there for a wedding) were greeted by a friendly receptionist and then made to wait because someone had made our appointments for one hour before the salon actually opened. They did call in another technician who was kind, friendly and polite, but had no clue how to do a french manicure. Every member of our party had trouble with their manicure and pedicure and mine looked as if a kindergartner had drawn on my nails. The polish chipped off later that day. My niece and I went to this salon on 6/13/13. We called to ask how much a pedicure was and they told us $35 over the phone. We reserved a time.When we arrived we were brought to the chairs for our feet to soak in the water, for at least 20 minutes, while they were waiting to finish with another customer and while the other person swept the floor. Then when they began the pedicures they said did you get the $35 pedicure and we said yes, and they said that was the express pedicure. We were not told this over the phone when we had called. So we got our toes clipped and polished and just a brief buffing of the bottom of the feet. There was no massaging of the legs. It was very basic. And they clipped one of my nails too short and it is very sore this week. They did not have nail dryers to put your feet in, so I ruined one of my toes almost immediately upon leaving the place. They also polished our toenails with our own sandals on. We were not impressed. read more
