I got tips w gel on my hands and the hollywood pedicure. Overall it cost me $140 without tip. My tips w gel are fine, no problems. The pedicure was probably to worst one Ive ever had in my life. There was no nail shaping or filing. The gel color already popped off two of my nails. He essentially just rubbed my legs with exfoliator and lotion for 20 minutes and then put gel polish on. After the polish was done, he did paraffin on my feet and didn't even get it all off. When i walked out I had to pick off random pieces of paraffin. read more

Despite a scheduled appointment my daughter and I waited almost 30-minutes past our appointment time for services to be rendered. Also the salon is NOT by any means "clean" looking and one of the technicians working had her young (3-4-yo) daughter running all over the salon. I don't know many workplaces that allow you to bring your child to work, so I'm hard pressed to believe she may have been one of the owners--or perhaps related to one!?! They also charged my daughter $30 to simply remove (soak off) an old set of Gel-X she had on and that price is absolutely absurd for the little bit of work that needed to be done. My suggestion? Find a better quality (and cleaner) salon in town!! read more

nail tech made me bleed 3 times and didn't even say sorry once. i got tips and they feel on the verge of snapping any moment. one of the nail techs was fine and my friends nails looked great. mine had uneven lines and some thick and some thin. lady made us tip more than we would like to. i do NOT recommend going here. so upset and mad. read more

i'm not one to leave bad reviews, i'd rather just suck it up and go about my day but this was ridiculous. two of us went in for pedicures and my friend also wanted a manicure. we sat in the chairs without service for about 40 minutes. she was serviced first. he finished her pedicure and then began began her manicure before i was even helped. i have sat here for two hours and now i am almost late to work. i will not be returning here as it was a waste of time and will cause me to be late to my job even though i got here two hours ago. no accommodation or anything. read more

The people are great! They're very nice and give you what you ask for but, if I'm going to pay $86 for a pedicure and a fill in, I expect my nails to be flawless. I have less imperfections when I pay $50 (for a pedicure and a fill in) at my local salon. Would I come back? Probably for a pedicure. I'd look elsewhere for a fill in. read more

The place I wanted to go was closed today and I wanted to get a pedicure before I left to go back home. I didn't mind waiting as it's Sunday after a holiday but once I was in the chair the technician was really rough on my feet. I have a skin burn from him using the pumice stone and yet he didn't do much for the callus removal. The leg massage was mediocre. After he was almost finished he put the paraffin wax on my feet and left for 25 minutes while he worked on another woman's feet. When the wax was actually cold, I finally said something and another technician came and finished. The finish on my toe nails is not even smooth. I'm not sure why I tipped but I didn't give much. I visited today at around 9am and got to see the salon before the hustle and bustle of the day. I drove in from Elizabeth City and it was definitely worth the drive! I wish I had taken photos of the salon, but it's neatly divided into sections and was very clean on both sides of the salon. I made an appointment a few weeks ago, but they welcomed in another woman who was a walk-in client around thirty minutes into my appointment. The woman who did my nails was very kind and welcoming, and the owner of the salon prepped by nails while the woman who did my nails took care of another client. She was very quick with her work and ask questions frequently to make sure my nails were the way I wanted and gave me several options for the butterflies and the pink acrylic on my nails. Their prices for everything were also very clearly written upon entry and super helpful, even though I already knew what I'd wanted. Overall I loved it and highly recommend going, especially in the morning while we're still in the midst of the pandemic if you want to avoid a lot of people! read more

I was recommended by a few people that this is the best nail shop in town but I found that that be a huge understatement. I can only comment on pedicures as I did not get a manicure, but I don't think I would trust the people who did me and my sister's nails to touch my hands. We walked into the store and it smelled like jasmine rice -- ok they are eating that's fine, but usually you expect a different smell from a nail place. The place itself didn't seem very clean and the selection of polishes was pretty bad. The shop was basically empty when we came in we still had to wait around a bit to get helped. The massage chair was broken? I'm assuming because they did not offer to turn it on for us or show us any remote for it. My sister's nails turned out super sloppy, so sloppy that she had to come home and clean up the polish that was all over his skin. I watched her technician clean nail polish off of her OWN hands rather than my sister's skin. My technician wasn't much better, but at least his painting job was better. He cut my nails crooked, and started painting my nails with a black matte polish instead of a regular black. I don't think they even had a regular black polish. During the pedi his phone went off a few times and he reached into his pockets and checked his phone and started using it. My sister and I were pretty shocked... it did not feel professional and we were way over charged for the quality of work done. We will not be returning and are still on the hunt to find a good nail place in the OBX! read more

Such a pleasant surprise here in OBX! I love having unique, colorful nails and rarely am I able to find a place that's able to copy a photo I have on my phone, especially when traveling. Leave it to Nails by LT to do it all! They receive an A++ on my gel acrylic fill with marble design (photo attached) and did a great job on my mom's gel pedicure and dip manicure. I would NOT recommend at all unless you're getting acrylics. I went in for a gel manicure for natural nails and a pedicure with regular polish. I requested black polish on my toes and a plain Mickey head on my big toe nails. I showed a picture of the look I was going for and the older lady was not able to understand because she kept giving me 3 separate dots not touching instead of 2small dots connected to a larger dot. I had her redo it 3 times and she still could not deliver it but by this time I was frustrated and just wanted to move on to the manicure. The same lady starts the manicure and disregarded the picture and my requests yet again. The nail design was simple(see pic) On the matte nail I requested a jewels to be placed in the shape of a Mickey head. The lady was about to do the same thing on my nails she did on my toes. After me trying to explain all I wanted was the simple design on the pic along with 3 jewels someone finally decided to step in. The other lady had to stop her work with another client which absolutely sucks because my lady couldn't do the simple design. Then the new lady was trying to rush me and give me Christmas color jewels when I requested blue or purple. She acted like it was inconveniencing her but I was not being heard or listened to at all. So she glued on the jewels in a rushed manner to get back to her client... then I paid $88 ..... only to walk out of there in tears because what I asked for was no where what I received and it was an hour of hell in that place and not relaxing at all! 3 hours later my jewels started to fall off!!! So I had to remove the entire polish on my nail that had the jewel and repaint it myself! I thought about going back and having them fix it but I don't have much availability in my schedule and I'm not confident that they could/would! I didn't even get a picture of my nails before I had to redo them! Edit AFTER owners reply: It's not mean... it was my perception ... and yes... The stones did fall off! The first small one fell off 3 hours after and I did nothing to make it fall off as I was only folding towels. The rest fell off by the next day and then I had to remove the whole polish and repaint. Had such a good experience here! I had left a different nail salon due to poor customer service earlier (Natural Nails) and came to Nails By LT and am SO HAPPY that I did. I was only getting my old acrylics removed, and even though this service is not very expensive the technician really took her time and put a lot of care into it. My natural nails have never looked better after removing acrylics before!! I'll keep coming back here every time I'm on the island. read more

Sure enough they charged my card and then state that it was not a charge and should disappear from my bank activity. Nope it hasn't. I visited this establishment with three of my friends during a vacation. Three of us ended up with crooked nails and I also with crooked eyebrows and a sore on my eyelid. I made an appointment online and we got there early and were seen right away. Three of us got pedicures. Two of us chose the signature pedicure and one of us chose the the classic. The signature was more expensive and supposed to involve more but all three of us got almost the exact same treatment and we were all finished at the same time. The man that did my toes rushed through roughly and never tried to make my toes even or take the time to do a good job so not great. Two of my friends got manicures and the nails on their hands were all uneven as well - different people did theirs. I also had my eyebrows done. When I was finished, I kept telling them my eyes were burning. It was quite painful. Later that day, you could see skin had been removed from a spot they never should have been touching. On top of all that, my eyebrows are CLEARLY uneven. I suggest you save your money because this place is over priced and horrible. read more

i went here last year to get my nails done and they looked good, but me and my sister went recently and they did a terrible job. they left my acrylics looking bumpy and uneven, they didn't even take the acrylic residue off under my nails. the man that did mine told me he could do square shaped nails, then contInued to do coffin shape without telling me beforehand. do not waste your time. they lure you in with amazing designs shown in the front of the store, but your nails will not even look close to that. we had two different people do our nails and they still look bad. so dissapointing. even though i only got an acrylic fill, i asked the young man if he could do square shaped and he said yes, so the whole time i thought i was getting what i requested until other staff told me it wasn't possible (after most of the filing had already been done.) read more

Made an appointment for Lash Lift and Tint, which you would think would include upper & lower lashes. I didn't make an appt for upper Last Lift & Tint. Also was not told beforehand that couldn't get eyelash wet for 48 hrs!! I didn't realize lower lashes were not tinted until after I got home. Went back to salon and was told lower lashes to tint would be $30, crazy. Business up the street does Lash Lift & Tint, upper & lower for $75!!! Do your research...... read more

I got a pedicure and the massage was very good! The lady that painted my nails rushed and there was paint all over my skin. I had to get it off. She didn't give me flip flops to walk over to the dryer and the floor was really dirty. I look really young so I think she just didn't care and rushed. read more

What a great nail place! Walk-ins are welcome! They have about 8 pedicure chairs and one Little Mermaid chair for young children. The detail that my technician put into my gel pedicure was pretty impressive. Everyone who worked there was so friendly! I am only giving two stars because they are ridiculously overpriced for the quality of work they give. My nails are uneven and every nail looks different. I ask the man who did my nails to cute cuticles he tried to sand them down and scratched my fingers up. He didn't do it properly so now in a couple of days my nails will look even worse than they do because of hang nails. What I had done was not hard at all, I got a acrylic set with gel polish they charged $45. NEVER HAVE I EVER paid that price for an acrylic set. Even with gel polish. I would NEVER recommend coming here to anyone. read more

Hanging out in the Outer Banks on off season for my spring break and looking to do a little pampering. After reading several reviews landed on Nails by LT. Am I ever so happy I didn't go to another place I was closer to! The attention to detail was AMAZING! I got a pedicure and a manicure (which I never do). The pedicure was amazing. I didn't catch names, but I had an amazing guy working on my feet. Had another guy start my manicure, he did the filing work and listened to what I asked (in regards to shape of my nail). He had to stop and a woman took over my manicure. She did a phenomenal job with the dip color and was extremely accommodating to what I requested. Back to the guy giving my pedicure. I'm on my feet 8-12 hours a day for work and seriously, the work he did cleaning up my feet was GREAT! I was over the moon. I wish the massage would have been a little more pressure and longer but that is literally my only "complaint" :) I will definitely be back, was SO pleased with the work done!!!!!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The entire "spa" pedicure lasted less than 6 minutes (including soaking, filing, painting). There was no massage. The BEST! My fiance and I came one afternoon for last minute pedicures while on a mid week getaway. We called and they were able to fit us in right away. The place is very clean and inviting. The staff were so kind and the pedicures were REALLY good! My toes feel so soft and the polish is perfect. My fiance really enjoyed his service too and he REALLY needed a pedi. It was also a very reasonable price, much more reasonable than some other places on the OBX. Finallly, I cannot thank the team enough for going above and beyond when my fiance left his phone and only realized he had forgotten it after the salon had closed. I sent a facebook message and they got back to me and came back to the store to make sure my fiance got his phone back that night. We were so grateful. I feel really good supporting a business run by such kind and genuine people we will definitely be back and recomend them to everyone. Thank you! read more

Please do not waste your time or Money. You will leave with awful nails, spend at least $150 no matter what, and have people who act like you are inconveniencing them after you ask them to fix something wrong / you don't like. I do see the prices they have listed on their menu. However, it's definitely not clear (for our entire group) on how much you'll actually be paying. We went just to have a day to ourselves. Wanted the cheapest possible since it was just to relax. I figured I was getting the $35 acrylics since I got super basic, and chose the $30 pedi. Showed them an example of what I was wanting just because it seemed like they didn't know what I was asking. They said ok after seeing my picture. No problem, right? Literally not anything about my toes was good OR what I showed them besides the color which was still not correct. Two different hues of gold on the same toe. Painted my big toes completely different than each other. Caked on polish. Horrible. My nails were ok I guess. Color was not even close to right but I didn't say anything when I first saw it Because I was trusting them to know what they were doing after showing a picture. My nails and the picture have some similarities to appoint but nothing like what I wanted. And like I said I did super basic so I'm not sure how my nails ended up being over $120. Or how my daughters was $50 to paint her nails. Literally that's all they did and even that was awful. Missing spots. Extremely bumpy and uneven. Over $200 was my total and ironically I "couldn't get a receipt". Every person with me also ended up paying at LEAST $150. If you saw what a lot of them got, and some only did a manicure, on why that is outrageously ridiculous. Just go elsewhere. *I will post pics tomorrow read more
