I especially appreciate the lovely and funny staff. Zoe and Fiona are really cute. The staff overall have friendly rapport and create an inclusive atmosphere. I felt very welcome and at ease. They also communicate clearly and thoroughly. Zoe went the extra mile explaining my nail health, differences in the salon's services and products as well as what shape, color, etc. would look nice on me. Best place ever!! Zoe was amazing. She not only fixed my botched dip w/ tips done by another salon but she educated me on the healthiest ways to get your nails done and take care of them. And she said she does this in case people go to another salon. She doesn't want them to ask for something that could actually lead to unhealthy nails. I think that shows great character. We wish there was a six star option! My girlfriend and I went there and splurged on the Forbidden Fruit Pedicure. It includes basic nail care, a lotion massage, sugar scrub, hot stones, a clay mask, and paraffin wax. It's my second time going and I don't think I will ever go anywhere else. It's owned by an extremely adorable couple - Fiona and Zoe. They are so friendly and hilarious, and we had a great time chatting with them. They remembered me from last time and seemed to know all of their other customers too. The pedicure itself was fantastic - my last one lasted almost two months. All of the treatments feel fantastic, and they really make you feel cared for. We will be back soon! Well I have given this review thought. Having given my SNS nails and pedicure a week long test. I am happy to say this place is awesome! The owners are simply amazing and a joy to spend a couple hours with. Salon is intimate and spotless. Staff were friendly and engaging while allowing you to relax. I was hesitent to try. I am very very picky when it comes to nail salons. I am happy to report I found the perfect place for me. Don't look any further. They take pride in their work and your experience. I am so glad I found Eden Nail Spa! I took myself and my two daughters (ages 7/10) to get mani/pedi's and they were so easy to communicate with for both me and my kids. They offer water, soda, and wine, which the three of us appreciated. It wasn't loud, no chitter chatting between co-workers, and that was really refreshing. I am not a huge talker outside of my workplace and Zoe and Fiona respected that but also were endearing enough that I wanted to chat some. I even took lots of time to speak with another client (who was awesome, by the way), which I would normally never do. Fiona and Zoe are very articulate, knowledgable, funny, capable, and are really into the business they've created. They follow your lead as a client, help educate you about what may be best for your lifestyle and needs in personal care in a way that made me respect them as experts. As a business owner of a hair salon myself, I feel like they connected with us in a way that I deem my own personal work ethic mandates. My nails (because they are in water all day long) have never been much of a priority for me. These ladies have made me think about that and suggested some in salon products that I was not previously aware of. I'm not easily sold, but they weren't selling to me, they believe in what they are doing, and that confidence is conveyed. I can't say enough about how great they were. The place is bare bones, not a spa, I liked that, it wasn't some cheesy, "we're trying to appeal to the upscale set", kind of place. They know their stuff, they're vocal about it, and I respect that. They have a client "rewards" card that you get stamped as you visit if that's enticing to you/ Support women owned businesses!!! As a Midwest transplant to Durham, I had been looking for I nail salon I liked as much as the one I had left. I wanted to find one that was close to home, where I could walk-in without an appointment and not have to wait too long. I also wanted a place where I knew the pedicure was in a sanitary tub (they line the tub each time). I went to about 10 of them before I found Eden (formerly Woodcroft Nail Salon). Even though it was the farthest from my home, this is the place I have chosen from all the rest. Not long after I had picked Eden, they closed to remodel (under new ownership). I had to go to another place instead, which further convinced me to come back after the remodel was done. First off, I will express that my initial experience in the salon was great! My return visit for a nail repair was horrible. I came in for a simple thumb "gel polish" repair. LITERALLY... the polish split and tore off the edge of my nail. I was greeted and told that I would have to come back another day (with an appointment) and not the weekend because they were booked. I had no problem with that since I had walked in. Luckily, the lady in front of me had to soak her nails so my nail was eventually tended to . Everything was going well until I was hassled numerous times (even after stating I prefer gel polish) to try dip powder. I've tried dip powder before and I'm not a fan. Ma'am.. I only want my nail repair.. thanks, but no thanks! I was so disappointed to see that she only polished the empty edge of my nail and did not redo the whole nail. To make things worse.. she then told me I had to pay a small fee since I was out of the warranty period (only ONE DAY after the period which I was unaware about). I've never been to ANY NAIL SALON that charges for a simple repair as the one I got. I didn't complain.. I just said "that's fine" and continued to the register. As soon as she told me the total was $6, I was thoroughly displeased! $6 may not seem like a lot.. but for a simple nail repair, that is absurd. I will end by saying that my nail has SPLIT again since I left and it sucks to report that I wouldn't recommend anyone to this nail salon. read more

I wanted to love this place because it has excellent reviews and is right near my house, however the quality of my manicure was terrible. I got a dip on a Monday night and by Friday morning the top coat was mostly all chipped off as well as the design on multiple nails. Because the top coat was coming off, the color was chipping as well. They were kind and said they'd fix it, and it turned out the problem was that top coat for gel was used instead of for dip. They had to remove the design, which I paid extra for, and instead of redoing the nails that had chipped she put little spots of new dip. She had me check them and they looked fine in the moment but later I could tell they were all bumpy due to patchwork and all the fixes she had done chipped again, even worse, THAT night. Now I have a completely messed up manicure but am obviously not going back a third time to get them fixed again. Regarding pricing, it was not clear what the cost of the manicure was and when doing the design she asked how much I was willing to pay so she could decide the level of design. I was thrown off by the question and the design looked very basic (think crayon drawing) but I felt bad asking for it to be redone. They didn't charge me for the fixes (thank you!) but did offer to do a fill in at the time and said that would cost (I'll take this as her just trying to help out since the first go went so poorly). When I asked how much the fill in was she didn't know and after a while eventually told me a price. Was that the price they normally charge everyone for this service? I didn't go with it, since I was already not confident in the quality at this point. She was nice and said she'd give me a discount on a design next time I go in since she had to completely remove the design after I had paid for it. Unfortunately tho I definitely don't plan on going back. I hate to say, this just didn't go well. read more

I followed the glowing reviews to Eden Nail Bar about a month ago to get my first mani-pedi in the area. I'm not really a nail person, and I wanted to do it more to try something new than anything. In the course of my visit, I interacted with Nancy, Fiona, and Zoe, who are all spectacular nail technicians and genuinely pleasant people. Fiona introduced me to dipping powder, and my nails are still flawless a full month later. Fiona is quick, efficient, and has no qualms about redoing anything that isn't perfect. Although the excellence of the manicure alone is reason enough to visit the salon, the personalities behind Eden have me hooked. I am giving Eden Nail Bar a 1 out of 5 stars because they sent my mother a text message requesting that she and I no longer come to their establishment. We were aware that there was some awkwardness between ourselves and the owners, but we thought it was just because we were new customers and we all needed to get to know each other better. When we called and asked for a reason, they stated they did not want us to come in on the weekends anymore and they wanted us to receive a higher priced service. When I asked if adhering to those requests would change anything they simply said no. The whole situation was quite confusing and we are truly shocked and hurt by their decision to ask us not to come back. We feel we are kind people who always inquired about their personal lives and provided consistent business for them.
