Facility design could be more senior friendly: common area seating is too low for people with mobility issues; hallways are long and dark. Maintenance guys are fantastic--prompt, patient, helpful. Administration is scattershot. Got multiple different packages of papers to sign prior to move in despite also having three face to face meetings with managers. Would have been helpful to see a checklist and timeline leading up to move in. Also would have been helpful if someone greeted resident on day one and went over his meal times, housekeeping, laundry, and bathing schedule And provided a print out of this information. Difficult to get accurate information related to health care staffing. No one seemed to know for sure the days staff nurse or geriatric doctor are onsite. No one seemed to know how the facility lending library operated in conjunction with Shorewood library.

Maintenance, activities ,CNA's, and the receptionists at the front desk were all very good. However, I am only giving the Timbers a one star rating because when she moved out they kept $1,000 of her security deposit. The only explanation given-Damages: replace carpet. After numerous attempts to speak to someone in charge with no one calling back, I gave up. I don't think it is right that someone on a fixed income should have to replace carpeting that just needed shampooing. Isn't there normal wear and tear after 2 1/2 years? The residents should not be responsible for decorating after they move out.

As a family we appreciate the schedule in/near the elevators and the TV screens with announcements. There was plenty to do if they want to. A few issues not sure if they are common or not. We had reserved the her appointment several month ahead of move in date and still found things that needed to be fixed upon move in day. I must say nothing major just more annoying - loose handles, leaking faucet.... Willow Falls was quick to take money and not so quick to refund. Mom went to the hospital at the beginning of the month and had an extra meal plan for $150 per month. We agreed to pay for it because Mom wanted the convenience. Willow Falls called the ambulance, the family kept in touch with Willow Falls. Needless to say Mom continued to pay even though she was in the hospital. On the 21st or 22nd of the month the family asked Willow Falls to cancel the plan - they did but charged all the days they KNEW she was in the hospital, still not eating at Willow Falls, not using any services AND paying rent. Mom passed away, they prorated the month but are in no hurry to refund - it took 6 weeks and constant follow up - no one would accept responsibility. It became the principal of the money not the money itself.

The staff does not care or try very hard. I had to suggest and purchase protein shakes when my mother stopped eating. They got bills/mail from ambulance service and doctors. They did not give me these items until my mother died. Front desk just shrugged their shoulders when I asked why I was not given them during my visits. There is a level of incompetence that is not acceptable. My mother passed away and I came a week later to clean out her room. They surprise charged me for this additional week by just grabbing money out of the bank account. If you are looking for care for a parent or loved one.....pass on this place.

They are short staffed, and nobody has an answer as to how the injury occurred to my family members who are residents there. They have not been there more than 2 weeks and have fallen and been hospitalized for a severe head injury and a broken clavicle. Yet when we initially visited the facility, they portrayed this place as a loving, caring and nurturing facility for seniors. I wonder how many other residents there have fallen or been injured due to negligent service. If this facility is not equipped to handle the large number of residents they have, then they need to focus on hiring more staff and provide ample training. I would definitely not give this place not one star rating at all. Not only is it very expensive, but it is also so negligent in its care for their residents. My grandfather had bruising, swollen lip and a cut on his right knee. My grandmother fell a total of 5 times broken clavicle and head injury along with bleeding. Like, I said they have not been there more than 2 weeks. Just Horrible care.
