Incorrect information, different clinical care information, when I can gain access to someone. The fees do not match the quality of care I am at least use to. So, they charged mw two times for the same thing. They charged the card I had on file for $200 and some change and then they sent me a bill around $200 which I paid over the internet. Only to find they had already charged me once for it! Okay, so it's a mistake or a miscommunication. It happens. But then I called their billing department, and I called them again. And then I called them again.... each time leaving messages and nobody ever gets back to me. On their phone message they say you won't get a response for 3-5 days. But emailing them is quicker. So, I email them. And I wait and I wait and I wait through the weekend. No word from anyone. Finally I call the regular receptionist to ask what the deal is. Do these people not work every day? They can't! Nobody ever answers their phone or their emails! In one week they charged me $400 and I cannot even get an answer from them. So she says she will email the director of the billing department. So far, no word from this mysterious "director of billing" who is most likely just a legend and doesn't really exist. If he/she does, they certainly don't give a damn about people's billing issues. I am going to my last appointment with my therapist tomorrow and I think I am going to be in the market for a different service that puts the patient first and treats people like patients instead of revenue streams to be ignored. This is a shame. I was happy with the place until then. Now I know I was nothing to them but an orange to squeeze money out of. read more

The staff is horrifying; you can't actually speak to anyone. My "doctor" prescribed two medicines that my pharmacist identified as having potentially deadly interactions; when I discussed it with her at my next appointment, she said she wasn't "concerned about that." I take her at her word that she didn't care if I lived or died. The entire organization is driven exclusively by greed. Their mistake left me out several dollars in an unnecessary copay; management admitted to me it was their mistake, but they refused to reimburse me. Go anywhere else. read more

My daughter was having some issues adjusting to kindergarten, and our pediatrician recommended Edgewood. I made the appointment, the therapist was sweet, and my kid seemed like she liked her. I have fairly high deductible insurance, so I paid out of pocket. It was $170/hour PLUS various "enrichment activity fees." The enrichment activities were... coloring and playing a board game. My daughter's issues got better or worse in direct correlation with my travel schedule. THEN I found out that her therapist was the intern. I paid over $200 an hour for an intern who played board games with my kid and couldn't get her to talk. Also, the voicemail system... the therapist was only introduced by her first name. You need first and last to find them in the menu. I never actually managed to get to a human at the office with the phone system. I came to one appointment, and there was no one at the front desk. I stood there for 20 minutes before starting to call, and kept getting the receptionist at another location. (The receptionist was filling in for someone else at another door, but didn't think to leave a note.) Another visit, the therapist had a meeting or something and didn't show up until nearly 40 minutes after our scheduled time. Of course I was charged for the entire visit. Not only am I very unhappy with Edgewood, I now doubt my pediatrician, since she recommended them to begin with. read more

Some providers can be great,... but some (connie shyu) seem to be in it for the paycheck. it's very upsetting leaving an appointment feeling like your doctor doesn't even care about you. I hope that people who look into this place try to find one of the few good providers, otherwise it can be very triggering. Update- moved it down to one star. after seeing multiple of their providers it seems like this place is only in it for the money. read more

Originally had my son's autism evaluation done here. Tried calling recently to schedule a new evaluation for insurance, got voicemail 3 times before finally getting a callback and was told they 'don't know their evaluation schedule but will call me in the next 4-6 weeks when they know an opening'. I'm sorry, but how do you not know your own clinical service schedule?! I called a Neuro-Psychological Services out of Darien, IL, got an answer on my first call and had an eval scheduled for less than 30 days out. I scheduled an initial appointment in December 2021, our evaluation was scheduled in February, the dr. cancelled last minute and said they will call back to reschedule. I never got a call, I have called LifeStance three times, they can't give me a date, they send me to one department to the other. I want to start all over again with another provider but I can't because I already had the initial appointment. Very frustrating, unprofessional. read more

Terrible billing practices ... complicated coding and overcharges ...plus they dont believe in waiting for insurance payments ...they require a credit card on file and keep running that card !! it is a scam. Also, not impressed by the therapist -- pretty green and pushers for sessions without setting up of any outcomes or goals. There are much better qualified therapist out there with out office overcharges! I wish more reviews were out there for these guys and would have avoided so much of agnst ! read more

Love them. Respectful. Polite. Responsive. After a terrible experience at another Naperville large psychiatry group practice, it's nice to be treated with politeness, respect and professionalism. Guys please read these reviews! It is not a coincidence that so many people have had issues with their billing. Their practices are fraudulent! They attempted to bill our HSA over $1100 for one 60 minute session! Luckily our health care provider flagged this as fraudulent and denied payment. I have tried contacting their office for over a week now with no response. My wife had reached out to them for help with post-par tum depression. They first paired her with a child psychologist that specialized in young children behavior disorders. She self admitted that she had never treated post par tum depression, but "was willing to give it a shot" If you are in serious need of help I suggest looking for a theaprist that is not willing to risk your mental health in such a manor. read more

There is no option for a zero so this review is actually glowing with a one star. My daughter was seeing the same therapist at Edgewood Clinical services for three years. Throughout those three years, they had over billed and charged my credit card without my consent. I had tried to clear up the inconsistencies but was always sent to a different person saying the last account was no longer with them. I finally had to file a complaint with my insurer who is investigating the billing practice. I ended up filing a claim with the Illinois attorney general which is a very simple form and finally received almost $2K owed to me by Edgewood. If you are not getting resolution from the accounting department here I strongly urge you to go the Illinois Attorney Generals website and file a claim with one of the simple forms available. read more

Do not come here if you expect to get decent care. The psychiatrist herself isn't bad, but the psychiatry department is run by a bunch of fools. I don't even think they have an RN on staff. They will NEVER get your refills refilled. Don't even bother having your pharmacy send a refill request. It's been 4 weeks and they never responded. I call and they say it can take up to 5 days for refill requests. And of course you have to leave a msg. It's not my fault that the script wasn't sent correctly in the 1st place. People come here to get help! They don't even take in consideration that their clients are fragile and if they run out of a medication it could be life threatening!!! You can't even talk to a manager. Now I'm wo one of my meds and no one cares and I'm about to lose it. read more

With the first visit, I had to wait over an hour to be seen. On my second and final visit I was running late so I called but when I got to the office, 15 minutes late, the doctor was not available and I got charged $150 which is more than my regular fee. It's funny, I don't remember being compensated for them running more than an hour late. I guess their time is more valuable. read more

There are many reasons I would not recommend Edgewood Clinical Services. Here are just the top 2. #1 Let's start with the therapy that my child and I received with the therapist we saw for 5 visits from October-November 2019. Over the course of the 5 visits, I stepped out and my minor child was alone with the therapist for approximately 45 mins total. Within one of these alone moments, the therapist told my child that they were lucky that their dad just walked out on us and didn't murder them. My child told me about this after we stopped seeing the therapist due to billing issues. If I knew about this moment, we wouldn't have stepped back into a room with this person nor would we have waited for billing problems to stop our relationship with this business. If this therapist knew how to read a child, they would have known this was way too much to put into my child's head. #2 Billing. We were seeing a therapist in summer of 2019, that therapist left the practice. While seeing that therapist, my insurance was always billed as family therapy...no matter who was in the room or how the time was divided. When they left, we stayed with the practice because they used my insurance, we just switched therapists. After 4 visits, I was made aware that they were billing through my child and not my insurance, as was always done. They billed without me filling out paperwork, signing forms or informing me. When I was made aware, billing and the therapist assured me I had a $0 balance and that it was a mistake in billing. We went in for the 5th visit being assured of these facts. After our 5th visit, we were introduced to Ava Howard. Ava told me under no circumstances was it their fault and that we owed $200 immediately and if we didn't pay, they would take me to collections. I asserted we would never have gone for therapy if I had known they would bill my child for the family session because I can't afford that. I am a single mom and I would never extend myself to have this type of bill that I can't afford. Please do yourself and your family a favor....Don't go here because #1 the therapists and #2 billing. read more

While I am pleased with the clinical staff, the billing practices are questionable. Add on codes are used to pad fees for the clinic, which increases the deductibles and co-insurance of the patient. For psychiatric med management they bill for both med management and a 30 min psycho therapy code which doubles my copay and the amount billed to the insurance company. Our previous psychiatrist performed the same service and only coded it as med management. Everytime I go in to talk to my son's therapist a complexity code is added which is not covered by my insurance. My previous therapist never added a complexity code. Complexity codes are intended for complex situations like language barriers or third party reporting. read more

I have had positive experiences with my Med management. My appointment was only delayed 1 time by 15 minutes, otherwise right on time. Billing and scheduling is clear. Very thorough needing ALL my records was a bit of a pain but I understand. read more

Less than 1 star because after providing all of my insurance information, and my verifying my insurance info with my own insurance provider, and answering all personal info AND symptoms I am experiencing, the intake scheduler informed me she had just received an alert that I am over 60 years old and therefore they cannot accept me as a patient. I wish age was her first question. read more

I seem to have had a similar experience as many other reviewers - the clinical staff our family has worked with was great, but the rest of the company is a disaster. The Intake, Billing, Psychiatry Line, and Medical Records departments are essentially just voicemail systems - most of my calls were never returned, and if they were, it would be such an inappropriate time-frame to return calls. If there is a receptionist (seems to depend on what office you're at), all but one have been fairly useless. They really need to get their stuff together. read more

Experienced clinical staff and high quality clinical care. I recommend for children, teens, adults and couples. Edgewood offers psychiatric services, psychological testing, pre-surgical evaluations, substance abuse evaluation and anger evaluations. The coordination of care is excellent! read more

So far, I am not impressed. The Intake Coordinator is basically a Scheduler as matching up the needs of a patient to a clinician is not their goal. When I called I was not asked any questions as far as the reason for the appointment - only my availability. Also their only psychiatrist is booked out over TWO MONTHS. There are a lot of clients who require medication which needs to be monitored, and this is not safe or helpful for the client. read more
