Very well-run and convenient dental clinic next to Edgewood Towne Centre. I had my first appointment this month and they were very helpful with scheduling, appointment reminders, etc. They have Covid protocols in place to limit capacity but they communicate well to get you in on time and without having to wait outside your car. The hygienist was friendly and helpful in explaining my x-rays. The cleaning was pretty quick too but I didn't feel like it was rushed. The dentist only spent a couple minutes with me and seemed. hurried (he was the only one on staff at the time) but I didn't have anything major to look over. Their work cost me a lot of money and it didn't last. Twice I had to return to have the temp cap reapplied. Both times an assistant was called to it and both times it was painful. Then the permanent filling did not last and I was out over a $1,000. I never liked going to the dentist's. Absolutely do yourself a favor and find another dentist who keeps actual records! Edgewood made a custom bruxism device with anterior bite plane for me for jaw clenching & grinding my teeth, and after I accidentally lost it, they tried to replace it twice with just a regular design retainer night guard. Not only did this office "have no record" of the actual kind of device they had given me in any of their records apparently, the dentist then tried to convince me that I must have gotten the nightguard at another office. After painstakingly describing the issue with the device to him and him literally sending me a video confirming what kind of device I had gotten from him previously, the dentist ultimately decided that I must have gotten it at another office, as he did not make appliances like that. I'm sorry, what is this gaslighting bs? This is the only dentist I've seen in Pennsylvania. Clearly something went wrong despite the lab "using the same prescription" to make both devices, but you would rather make me believe I must have stepped into an alternate reality rather than admit you or the lab made a mistake. Incredibly baffling, do yourself a favor an go with any other dentist who is actually keeps accurate records! Because if I did somehow see another dentist at this office who made me the original device, wouldn't you have a record of that? LOL read more

I just moved to Pittsburgh and cracked a tooth on a Friday. I couldn't find anyone over the weekend. On Monday, I picked EDA almost out of a hat. They were in-network, close by and had good reviews. I called, explained the issue, and they immediately found a space for me the next day. They were kind, careful and explained every option possible to let me make the decision I wanted. We all thought I needed a crown. They told me the price in advance. After a short procedure, they realized only a filling was necessary. They didn't push extra procedures. They got the filling fitted perfectly on the first try. I was in and out in 90 minutes. I very much appreciated their professionalism and confidence mixed with an approachable attitude. I am seriously disappointed in this place. I came here because I moved back to my hometown of Pittsburgh and both my mom and grandmother have been coming here for years. They had nothing but good things to say. I went in there with such a positive mindset and came out extremely upset and down $600 without getting what I came in to get fixed take care of. I have a "gap coming back in my teeth". They talked me into buying the Invisalign retainers for $600 instead of a regular one for $200. Didn't fix my problem. I wore the retainers constantly and it didn't fix anything, I go to my old dentist from 10 years ago who I thought retired. Told me the retainer will not take care of my problem of my gap I want fixed. The dentist at Edgewood never explained this. The manager called me after she knew I was VERY upset. I asked when all was said and done when my gap closed if they could make me a new retainer at no charge. Never apologized, said no, and only offered to put money toward if I chose to come back there toward Invisalign orthodontics. What a joke for customer service. Can't trust the dentist there so I'm taking my $$$ elsewhere. Don't go here read more

I've had an outstanding experience at Edgewood dental. Everything from the waiting area to the facilities to the technology is what dentistry should be. I was so used to the old, outdated place I went before I didn't know places like this existed. The waiting room is modern and welcoming. It's more like a salon than a dentist office with a coffee maker and drinks in a mini fridge. The front desk staff are all nice. The rooms have modern technology. They show you everything right there and have much more advanced systems than what I've seen in the past. Dr Baroni is awesome. She's sweet, caring, and very personable. She truly cares about how you feel about the experience and whether you are comfortable. She spends time explaining things and making sure you understand what's happening and why. Jennifer is also fantastic. I had a rough start the first time I went with another of the staff but Jennifer was spot on with my caps. I can't say enough about this place. My husband paid thousands of dollars for dentures from a word injury settlement. Dr. Brown verbally guaranteed them for the life of the dentures, any adjustments, relines, etc. I had lost some weight and needed them relined so I came in. I felt like since I didn't have a fistful of money like we did at first, that I was treated like a lower level patient. Dr. Brown didn't do the realign, I was passed to a woman who did it and it didn't feel right while she was holding it in and I tried to tell her. Well needless to say they came back not fitting right. Then I received a bill! I called the office, and the girls there, (who I all knew by then) assured me that I should ignore that bill, and to reschedule the appointment because their goal was to make sure that I was happy with my dentures. I was having health problems so I told the girls that I would have to schedule later. My health problems got worse, so I didn't reschedule for a long period of time, but I wasn't told that there was a time limit on this issue. About a year and some months went by, I was putting a temporary liner purchased at Walmart in my denture every month or so in order to keep it fitting, and that was really expensive and a pain. When I called the office, there was a whole nother set of girls working at the front desk, and when I made the appointment they mentioned something about payment and I told them that Dr. Brown would remember me, and that I was pretty sure I wasn't going to be charged for the appointment because it was fouled up by someone there and although it had been some time (I had serious health problems that I had to deal with and it took some time to get back on my feet and feeling well enough to go back to Pittsburgh) that I was sure that Dr. Brown would resolve this problem. The receptionist said that she would check, and if there was a problem with payment that she would let me know before the day of my appointment, so I wouldn't have to drive to Pgh. Unless the adjustment was free, I wouldn't be able to get it done because I don't have extra money to put towards my teeth, I am not what I guess you would call Dr. Browns "regular" patient. I am not a "high end" client, who makes hundreds of thousands of dollars in a year. My husband is a hard working oil and gas industry supervisor, and just like everybody else, we are trying to keep our head above water in the midst of all this. No one called, so I went to my appointment. After a brief discussion about my reline, Dr. Brown started talking about financing. I stopped him there, I said, "wait a minute, you guaranteed these dentures, and my husband was witness to this conversation." He denied it, saying he wouldn't do this. Dr. Brown has had an explosion of popularity and an increase in patients. I think greed and getting his rear end up on his shoulders, made Dr. Brown "forget where he came from". He should do what he says he is going to do, and not let the dollar sign rule. read more

No one likes the dentist in fact one could say that the dentist terrifies me. I have this memory of getting my first filling and kicking the dentist while in the chair and then fast forward later I met a dentist who didn't know how to numb me completely and discovered that mid procedure. One can see why I have issues with stepping foot into a dental office but these guys are different. They know no one loves the dentist and they embrace that by trying to make you as comfy as possible. From the moment you step foot in the door and you notice they offer you drinks (of the non alcoholic type) and with little gestures like giving you their cell phone number after a procedure makes you realize that they care about you and not just your money. They didn't sugar coat things for me but they also assured me that I was in good hands. I've never had a dentist allow me to listen to my headphones during the procedure or work with me to ensure that they could fit in my schedule. Met Dr Brown @ Edgewood Dental on lower Maple Ave many years ago. Dr Brown was all a young dentist who proved he could be all he could be then and hasn't changed in the ensuing years. He treats all dental patients the same and is caring in every way. I give permission to Dr Brown to open my records for all to see. This is a great practice. I've had my share of bad dental experiences, and Edgewood Dental Associates reminds me that great dental offices exist. They took the time to work with me on a treatment plan, which included long-term care and prevention. My first visit included a discussion of any previous health conditions that may contribute to dental health. They also walked me through treatment of a tooth, and my options for treatment. Dr. Ed really worked hard to be sure I was comfortable and that the procedure was as painless as possible. When a part of a procedure was more painful than expected, they slowed down to be sure I was okay. He has great etiquette and is respectful and knowledgeable. The assistant was a tad rough on my mouth at times, but there was a lot going on, and she was very, very nice. In any case, based on my experience, this is a solid, professional dental office. I would certainly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a good dentist in the Pittsburgh area. read more

Beware!!! Predatory dentist who doesn't care about fair billing or informing patient about services they are undertaking and fees. You may take home a bill you never expected. I am new to Lincoln and was referred to Edgewood Dental. I was told that they accepted my insurance and scheduled a cleaning. The people were very nice. They did an extensive cleaning they said. I hadn't been for a cleaning in about 18 months. I received a statement that my insurance was not billed for a cleaning, but for some specialized cosmetic cleaning debridement service; which they do not cover. The dentist never told me I was having a specialized debridement service, I was never asked if I wanted a specialized service, I was never told that additional charges may be incurred or that it was more expensive ;to the tune of $175 for this cleaning service I did not request. My insurance would have covered a normal cleaning. But now I have to pay the full boat??? When I asked if they would reduce this bill due to the fact that i did not request this specialized service they said no. When I complained a second time they gave me a courtesy discount of 10% = $17.50. I usually get that for paying cash. I am so insulted and angry. I was taken advantage of while in the chair with their hands and tools in my mouth. I didn't ask for a specialized service and was never told about it. I was hoping that at the very least they could have taken off the fee for a normal cleaning that my insurance would have covered. But no. I guess they have bill to pay, and their bottom line is much more important than their patients. I canceled all future appointments and found another dentist. read more
