I have been dreading going to the dentist because of how my past experiences have been, but wow -- where you go truly makes a difference. This is by far the best dentist's office I've ever been to. I've moved around the US quite a lot, so I've been to several different ones. I'm so glad that I'm finally settled because I never want to go to a different dentist. First, they are extremely personable and friendly, from start to finish. Before the doctor even starts the exam, she just chats for a few minutes to get to know you and explain everything and answer any questions. You don't feel rushed at all. Second, the doctor is the one who actually performs the cleaning. That's a first for me. It was the most thorough cleaning I've ever had and I learned things about my teeth that I never learned in all my 36 years of going to dental cleanings twice a year. My husband is the one who found this office first and referred me. I'm so glad he did. We both had different doctors at the office, but had the exact same experience. They even mailed us both thank you cards afterwards, and sent him a referral gift card. Overall, I haven't ever been to a dentist's office I would recommend as highly as this one. I've had bad experiences at dentists, to include 2 others in Pittsburgh. I would drive out of my way to go back here. read more

I stopped coming here because it was impossible to get an appt. I had a rather rude hygienist once but still came back. But the cherry on top was when i received a text saying i cancelled my appt. i called to advise that i did not cancel my appt. they were like oh you didnt? well we dont have another appt opening for another 6mo. BEFORE making an appointment...I started coming here last June. GREAT dentist, TERRIBLE time getting an appointment rescheduled. As a new patient I loved coming here. I even brought my husband on as a new patient because I like Dr, Colaizzi so much. However, trying to reschedule a canceled appointment was horrible. I needed to get in for my follow up 6 month cleaning AND a nightguard. I was shocked to hear that the next available appointment for both was another 6 months away! This left me waiting over a year between cleanings and 6 months for an important dental appliance. Their lack of available appointments and flexibility in scheduling was a deal breaker. TBH, I was surprised ANY dentist office was comfortable telling a new patient that they had to wait 6 months for an appliance and SO LONG between cleanings. read more

If you are looking for a fabulous dentist, look no further. After getting my first (4!) cavities at age 26 all at once, I got them filled by another dentist and had excruciating pain whenever I ate. Long story short no matter how many different dentists I went to, everyone said there was nothing wrong and I was unable to chew on the right side of my mouth for 10 YEARS!. Until I went to Dr. Tovissi. She was immediately able to troubleshoot the problem and fixed it right away. Then she noticed teeth grinding while I was simultaneously being tested for sleep apnea. I couldn't tolerate THE CPAP so I thought I was just going to have to live with it but Dr. Tovissi made me a custom mouth guard for the teeth grinding which has now resolved the apnea . She is the absolute best dentist and I cannot sing her praises enough. read more

I recently became a patient of Babcock Dental. I have never been a fan of going to the dentist my whole life. I enjoyed my experience 100% from my first phone call to make my first appointment til the minute I walked out the door afterwards. Dr. Elena Kureichyk was excellent, patient, kind, and very knowledgeable. Everything was explained to me in detail and I felt extremely comfortable my entire visit. Going to the dentist is about as high up on my fun list as colonoscopies, eating green peppers, and attending a Justin Bieber concert. I can't imagine anyone loves it. That said, the team at Babcock dental make the experience, well, not hell. The staff is infectiously perky, Dr. Tovissi is a delight, and Shannin is my homegirl. They don't try to oversell you on unneeded procedures, they're merciful with that angry looking silver pick, and they won't shame you TOO much when you're honest about your less-than-stellar flossing habits. Overall, they are five-stars for going to the dentist. Still better than the Beebs. And if all else fails, Sieb's is next door, so you can drink it off. read more

I was referred here after unsuccessfully trying numerous dentists after the retirement of the DMD I grew up going to. I was told to ask for Dr Elena. I not only needed a cleaning and exam, but I needed a chipped bonding replaced. I made the appointment mid-September for the last week of September. Melissa, the assistant, was friendly and chipper as she prepped me for Dr Elena. Dr Elena took time to greet me, talk a little bit, & explain the procedure before she even put her gloves on. Dr Elena was kind, gentle, and very thorough as she talked me through the repair of my chipped bonding - even going as far to explain that one of the substances used was going to smell like nail polish remover. She made sure I was doing okay because we didn't use any numbing agents as she was not close to any open cavities or my gums. She walked me through the whole thing, start to finish, which was comforting because you knew what was being done. It took maybe 25 minutes tops. I will definitely recommend Dr Elena to anybody! The only reason this is a 4 star review instead of 5 was miscommunication between me and the scheduling staff. I asked them for cleaning and exam, and if Dr Elena was able to do the bonding afterwards and from what I was told, that's how I was scheduled... but that's not what happened. I only had the bonding procedure done and had to schedule a separate cleaning and exam for November which is an entire month from now. I have the beginnings of two cavities and I have to wait until November (it's late September) to just get the cleaning and exam and will probably have to return a 3rd time to fill the cavities. That's my only gripe was the miscommunication between scheduling my appointment for a cleaning/exam and a small bonding procedure. I understand that they're human and make easy mistakes, I just wish I had confirmed the cleaning AND the bonding! Would recommend Dr Elena to anyone looking for a local dentist. Office is very accessible with wide range of hours! read more

Shannon (hygienist) is my Person of the Year! After going to a dentist in California for my past 2 cleanings, Shannon discovered that they had not done a thorough job on my mouth... at all. This created an extra challenge for her but she went above and beyond to get everything that had been left behind by the California hygienist and then some.
