Came for a friend's wedding and was shocked by the unprofessionalism of the staff, event coordinator, and venue as a whole. 1 hour long valet, walking back providing golf cart transportation for elderly and woman in heels, valet lost a friends key, event coordinator did not allow photos at the ceremony due to some permitting rule (??), and just general havoc by the staff. When our wedding venue plans fell through at the last minute, Edgewood Tahoe serendipitously entered the picture to save our wedding with only 5 weeks to spare in planning! This venue is nothing short of perfection in every way. The venue is cradled in lush forest and provides a quiet and serene atmosphere next to the water. We were married on the lawn against stunning lakeside views of Tahoe and the surrounding mountains. Brooke was incredibly helpful, timely with her responses, and even coordinated a virtual tour of the venue since we weren't able to visit due to such short notice. In fact, all of Edgewood staff went to such great lengths to make us feel welcome and did so with such grace and hospitality. Can we also talk about the food?? Every single one of our guests came to us over the course of the evening commenting on how delicious their meals were. I had the sea bass and it was cooked to perfect, flaking off into delightful morsels of bliss. My wife is vegan, and we scoured all of Tahoe to find a bakery to make us a vegan cake for our wedding and were sorely disappointed. We were about to simply give up on a cake altogether until Edgewood's chef offered to make us one. When it came to the cake cutting ceremony, we were both visibly stunned by how delicious the cake tasted! The chef seriously deserves a trophy and his own cooking show. We had an absolutely beautiful, incredible wedding at Edgewood on October 21st, 2018. We chose the South Room (a more intimate venue overlooking the lake) in the evening. The location was breathtaking, food was amazing and the staff was great--we didn't have to worry about any logistics throughout the entire event. We didn't have a wedding planner so we relied heavily on Brooke and Lori's help as we planned everything leading up to the big day. The day itself surpassed our expectations, with huge thanks to Brooke! Our friends and family couldn't stop talking about what an amazing time they had, and many mentioned how well Brooke handled the details with setup etc. (I was too busy and excited to notice everything myself.) As others have commented, we also had trouble with communication over the summer of 2018. I think the change in staffing must have been a challenge for them...however, they totally made up for it by the end and really impressed us. Lori helped finalize all the booking and payment related things and Brooke made sure everything ran smoothly despite our last-minute table edits, guest changes and all the other hoops we put her through! Meeting Brooke in person about 1.5 months before the wedding was super useful and I highly recommend everyone do the same--she was extremely organized, professional and just so great to work with. All in all, we had the wedding of our dreams in a fantastic location, and it went more smoothly than we had even hoped for. Edgewood is a special place for a wedding! P.S. I absolutely adored our wedding coordinator, Brooke. The venue is spectacular and absolutely gorgeous. The views from the ceremony site are stunning. It's WOW. This was to be our dream wedding and Brooke went above and BEYOND to help us from day one. I searched all day for a venue and Every site fell below expectations. I found this place last minute and walked in late. Brooke was pretty much done for the day and I believe leaving when she still agreed to show us around. She was so sweet and kept in contact frequently. I had a million questions and she answered every single one in ample time. We felt secure with our selection in Edgewood. We began working with them in October 2019 I believe and even received a Christmas card from their staff. What a nice personal touch that businesses often forget makes an impact! We were so sad to have to make the hard decision to cancel our date due to COVID. We explained our situation to Brooke and Edgewood and asked if they would consider a full or partial refund. The deposit was a significant amount and we were very concerned that they would not agree. The company did agree to the refund and apologized to us for the pandemic, sympathizing with our situation. We are so beyond grateful to them for their professionalism, compassion, and understanding. This is not just a stunning venue. We got married at Edgewood last winter. It was an incredible venue, but the wedding manager, Lori, was a nightmare to work with. We initially expressed our interest in securing our wedding date in May 2018 when we toured the venue. We were ready to provide a deposit on the spot that day. However, we were told it wouldn't be possible to receive/sign a formal contract until the following Monday (three days later). That was fine, but it ended up being far from the truth. It took another 4 months of numerous unreturned phone calls/voicemails for us to finally receive our formal contract from Edgewood and team. In the meantime, we lost out on our top vendors such as photographers and videographers who took other wedding clients while Lori held us up and couldn't complete the most basic of paperwork/clerical tasks on an acceptable timeline. Once our contract was finally signed, Lori was no better to work with leading up to the wedding. Thankfully we had our own full service wedding planner or my wife and I would have totally lost our minds dealing with more unreturned phones calls and planning issues. You know someone has a bad reputation when our own wedding planners were not at all surprised by the lack of promptness and poor communication from the venue's wedding department. As a final low blow, Lori and the wedding department failed to alert anyone at all during our wedding that we had vastly exceeded the agreed upon/estimated bar consumption. No Edgewood staff member asked if we wanted to extend the tab or switch to a cash bar. It wasn't like it was just slightly over either, we're talking 70%+ above the original estimate. Overall, Edgewood is still the best wedding venue in Tahoe... for now. But if they continue to treat clients the way we were, their reign atop the Tahoe wedding circuit won't last long. If you plan to get married here, I highly recommend having your own full service planner to minimize the amount of contact you have with their wedding team. read more

I truly cannot express how much my husband and I enjoyed working with Lori and Brooke (Edgewood wedding coordinators). They were both so kind, patient and flexible throughout the entire planning process and worked so hard to make sure our day was flawless! My husband and I are not the best planners and we were a bit worried about the timeline and details leading up to our big day. With the addition of COVID hitting, there was a lot of unknown which of course changed our plans dramatically. We went from a 150 person wedding to 23 people, we kept changing our minds, adding and removing elements etc. Lori and Brooke were not only understanding but were extremely helpful and supportive in assisting us, coming up with new ideas and spending a lot of their time talking through possibilities. They were a true joy to work with and be around! I'm not sure I even need to mention it but Edgewood is the MOST beautiful venue there is with some of the best food I've ever eaten! :) You truly can't beat the view, it's perfect! When I walked into Edgewood with my husband and my parents we all knew at once that this is where my husband and I would be saying our "I do's." We booked it on the spot for our February 2012 wedding. The booking process was very easy, as was the planning for the event itself. The venue is incredible and all of our friends said that it would be impossible to beat :) My only problem with the whole venue was that no one talked to me the day of my wedding. Like no one. They told me I wouldn't need a coordinator with all of the help they would be giving me, but they gave me no help. Luckily Lake DJ was there and he was fabulous and made sure everything went perfectly. I can't even be that mad at Edgewood because everything turned out just fine. I was just a bit disappointed in the fact that they were really MIA for me. All in all I would 100% recommend Edgewood, simply because it is beautiful inside and out. Just make sure you tell them your expectations for the day of your wedding and make sure they know how involved you want them to be. That was a mistake on my part as well though. read more

We didn't have to spend a lot for flowers & decorations for our wedding bec the facility itself was already beautifully donned up.the postcardesque surrounding is so breathtaking that adding artificial decorations could make it overwhelming.the staff, (cleaners,valet peeps, servers, chef (LONNY), receptionists, wedding coordinators-LORI/BROOKE/MEL-etc)were very accomodating,understanding,& helpful. My wife and I got married at Edgewood in July 2018. The setting is perfect and right by the lake. However, as other reviews noted, there is a staffing change at the beginning of 2018 and everything went haywire. We found this out a couple of months before our wedding after radio silence from Edgewood for maybe 6 months. Edgewood staff would often go 10 - 14 days without responding to emails or voicemails. We had to go through our florist or cake vendor to get them to call us back. Up until the week of the wedding we still had many outstanding questions on the set up for the reception. They also screwed up our napkin color, misplaced our supplies and left over dessert. It took them FOREVER to find the top of our wedding cake the next day we thought they lost that as well. Service was ok, but they ran out of the food we ordered and I suspect they just took the leftover from the other banquet room and serve it at ours. When it was time to cut the cake they didn't even provide any forks, just leaving up there awkwardly with the photographer debating whether to actually try to eat the cake or not. Do NOT recommend anyone to have their wedding here. If you hear the names Lori or Brook in charge of your wedding run for the hills. read more

Giving Edgewood 3 starts due to the location and scenery. I could not have asked for a better backdrop for my wedding. My guests are still talking about it! The extra little things that Edgewood adds, such as butler style tray passes, really added to the elegance of the wedding. Now on to the negatives. Edgewood changed wedding coordinators before my wedding. Lori took over as the manager. She was very difficult to work with and almost impossible to communicate with. For example, I would email her, call her, and leave her a voicemail only to hear back from her 5 days later. The turnaround time was unacceptable if you ask me. When I did receive a response, I am certain that she did not even read my email. It took her eight times to get the seating chart right - she kept changing the table numbers and numbers at each table after we explicitly told her not to. There were some negatives during the actual wedding as well. There were items missing from our boxes that we brought. We trusted Edgewood to be able to handle the items that we brought. I received numerous complaints from the guests that the Edgewood servers were slow to bring out additional food. We did tri-tip and chicken and the tri-tip ran out rather quickly. I was told that it took them 10 minutes to bring more out. I also received complaints that they took away the water glasses from the tables before dessert was served. Guests had to go to the bar to get their water. Another negative is having the bridal room in the bathroom - people thought I was joking when I told them where to meet me. Overall, I think Edgewood is beyond gorgeous, but they have a lot of issues that need to be improved upon. read more

The overcooked Hawaiian Catch unfortunately was a miss despite the tasty Pineapple and Papaya Salsa. The best part of the meal was undeniably the CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN. My husband and I got married at Edgewood in October - the same place my parents got married 30 years ago. We had a great experience. The entire staff is friendly and easy to work with, and really helped me and my husband relax on our wedding day. They really have it down to a science and everything went so smoothly. The location is absolutely beautiful and guests had access to our reception room as well as patio during the reception. Almost all of our guests insisted that ours was one of the most beautiful weddings they had ever been to. We saved money by getting married on a Monday (which was actually our 8 year anniversary and a sentimental date for us), and we used the smaller South Room because of our smaller number of guests (around 55). Because of the fact that our wedding was on Monday and no other weddings were taking place, we were able to use the beautiful North Room deck/patio for our ceremony. We and our guests had a panoramic view of Lake Tahoe on a clear blue, warm fall day. During one part of the ceremony, a flock of Canadian geese in a V formation overflew us and made for a beautiful and symbolic photo. Leading up the the wedding, we made several appointments with Edgewood to discuss various things - menu and bar choices, number of people per table, number of tables, linen colors, etc. We didn't hire a wedding planner, which saved a ton of money, and I don't think a planner is really necessary at this venue especially if you stick primarily with Edgewood's list of suggested vendors. All of our vendors had done tons of Edgewood weddings and they knew the timeline and facilities well. Edgewood staff helped our families set up the table centerpieces and other decorations on the wedding day, made a few last minute changes to our tables due to cancellations, and helped to keep me relaxed and worry-free. We did the buffet brunch and it was delicious - everyone cleared their plates and the only food that got negative comments was the crab and oyster quiche which was pretty fishy tasting. Our wedding was an unforgettable experience and we have nothing negative to say about the venue. I'm sure everyone will be talking about the wedding for years to come, and we look forward to going to Edgewood's restaurant to celebrate our anniversary in future years. read more

We were married here in Feb 2013 and the guests were just amazed at this venue. We only took 1 month to plan our ceremony and Bobbi King and the rest of the staff were absolutely great in making the whole thing look effortless. The food was great from what everyone told us (we didnt eat for some reason ;). As a winter special the wine, beer and champagne was free for the entire event. Pretty awesome. We had our wedding on June 20, 2015 at Edgewood. It was a destination wedding, so most of the planning took place over the phone or via email. We worked with both Shannon and Debby during the planning and on the day of our event. They were excellent. They ensured that we had things organized and kept the event running smoothly. At around 9:00pm, two women attempted to crash our wedding. We assumed they had been eating/drinking at restaurant at Edgewood, and wandered in. My wife and I barely noticed the two enter, and we immediately saw Debby escorting them out of the room. She was great. Since we had our event on a Tuesday, Edgewood was flexible with location and timing. We held a ceremony at 4:30pm on the North Deck, with a reception in the South Room after. (We liked the view from the North deck, but the North room was too large for our group of 50, and we were worried that it might feel too empty.) Edgewood itself is a beautiful venue. We added cut wildflowers for centerpieces, and tied bunches of baby's breath to chairs along the aisle during our ceremony. Edgewood doesn't need much to look awesome. It isn't an inexpensive venue, but it's well worth the price. Other information: Most of our vendors knew each other as well as Edgewood, and that helped keep everything running smoothly. Lori and Brooke were a joy to work with. They made the wedding preparation process very smooth. Day of the wedding was stress free, since they made sure everything ran according to schedule. Even though we were planning our wedding in Tahoe from across the country, it was very doable with Lori and Brooke on board. The venue was absolutely stunning and the food was delicious (not to mention the food tasting was such a treat and so unique to have one on one time with the head chef). Since the venue is so beautiful, flowers and decor can be minimal. We didn't have anything for decor at the ceremony except an arch. Staying your wedding night at the Edgewood Lodge was a must. Came here for a wedding last month, wow this place is amazing. The location is absolutely beautiful and guests had access to our reception room as well as patio during the reception. Having the ceremony and the reception at the same venue can save time and money and of course the planning headaches. My buddy got married to his bride right long the shore of Lake Tahoe, then took a few steps to the reception. The ceremony was on the beach which is a part of Edgewood. Everything was set up to a key. With a beautiful scenery of water and mountain of Lake Tahoe in the background. As the wedding start everyone seated, the wedding party come down the stairs from the patio area to the aisle. The reception, they have two place for the reception the North and South room. We had the party in the North room which is the bigger room. Has a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe and has a bar inside that room. Didn't get to see the other room as there was another wedding there as well. Our reception was all you can eat buffet style and open bar. It was set for eating after eating the staff cleared the food and it was time for the rest of the festivities of the wedding like the bouquet toss, first dance, and so on. My husband and I were married here in August of 2013. We knew as soon as we walked in that this was THE place. Trust the planners all of them are fantastic, Debbie and Shannon helped us. Trust the preferred vendor list- we used Jarvis photography, Thrans flowers, Sharon Rusk, Flour Girl cakes, Music Magic DJ. We had around 50 total people and were married on the terrace of the south room on a Sunday evening (great value). By far the best wedding food I've ever had, and we got the buffet, great options and we even added in plated appetizers. We can't fully express how wonderful and stress free our day was. We are still getting compliments on the wedding. Also- check out the buffet brunch at Brook's Bar & Grill, we held our Newlywed brunch there and it was delicious. Attended a wedding here as a guest, immediate family of the bride. I can honestly say the setting was nice but everything else was basic, boring and bland. For starters there isn't a really nice actual spot for the wedding ceremony, like an archway covered in flowers. Just you and your partner in front of the lake, staring directly at the sun as the wind blows you away. There are stairs just to go to the restroom from the ceremony area. And the outdoor cocktail hour before the reception really started had maybe 3 tables set up and we were all freezing. The bar area in the room we were on was directly in front of the door to the restrooms. There was always congestion there for no reason. The lighting for the dance floor wasn't impressive. Just disco type lighting, this might be the choice of the bride and groom. Now the food......... options were steak and chicken. Steak was on everyone's plate I could see severely undercooked. You cannot assume mass quantities of people want rare steak. Mine was inedible. The salads were just as bad as the main course. You get a butter size quantity of potatoes with maybe 3 vegetables. And from what I heard the food cost, I'd definitely disagree with what they charge. Lastly, there is not a good send off area for the bride and groom here. It's all built up so high that there are winding stairs and walkways to get down and it wasn't working for it at all. Besides the backdrop which I still didn't find all that impressive, I don't believe this would be worth anyone's money. read more

My youngest daughter was married at Edgewood Lake Tahoe 5 years ago and it was amazing. Soooo, when my oldest daughter was getting married I suggested Edgewood. This was. her second wedding and they were having a small (20 People) reception. Everyone was flying in since we no longer lived in Tahoe.. Once again it was spectacular...The food was amazing and we loved the room that we had for dinner and patio off of The Grill at Edgewood for appetizers. After my daughter checked many places in Lake Tahoe, Edgewood prices are amazing and no one can beat the food that is served. Everyone is still talking about the size of steaks that were served. My daughters wedding was on July 31, and I want to thank everyone from servers to cooks to booking on a wonderful wonderful wedding reception. read more

Came across the Edgewood and loved it, requested pricing end of Feb 2018 for weddings Jan/feb 2019. Melissa kindly responded with a pricing packet valid through April 2019. Plan a trip out there beginning of June since we are not local. Only looking at one other venue cause we were almost positive Edgewood was going to be the spot for the wedding. Get there, and it's what we hoped. Excited, we start to move forward when we are informed that the pricing we had got less than a month & 1/2 early wasn't valid and then raised their rates and removed the winter special for beer & wine. This added over $2000 to the total. We can no longer afford the location. It's very disheartening that the send pricing but can change it whenever they want without informing you until you are ready to book. Most bride and grooms are already trying to make it work, to just add $2000+ without a thought is kind of cruel. We would have never visited if we knew the price was so far out of the range they had provided. If you said "pricing valid through" you should be willing and understanding and honor what YOU said. I did not have my wedding here, however I did want to. Lake Tahoe is very special in my relationship so when I got engaged my fiance and I decided to make the long trip from SoCal to Tahoe in hopes of finding a wedding venue. I am from NorCal and loved the idea of a snowy wedding looking out to the lake. Well, with about 45 min left on my drive the wedding coordinator at Edgewood called me up and cancelled our scheduled meeting, which had been set for weeks and confirmed multiple times. I was given no excuse or reason, just "There is no one here to show you around but you can always reschedule for another time!". I had specifically made the long trip to Tahoe for this venue because it was my favorite online and I was excited to see the first venue on my wedding planning journey. The reason I kept my ratings at 2 stars and not lower is because after the meeting was cancelled, we decided to look around anyways, I mean we were already en route! A staff member let us in the building to look around and admittedly the site is beautiful. But there was no freaking way I was going to let the wedding staff at this place have any part of my wedding day, the trust was gone and I never even got an apology. Just wanted to post a friendly warning to anyone else who was looking here. I hope everyone finds the perfect place to say "I Do". Edit on 5/3/18 Today I have received an apology from Edgewood. The younger thin male bartender with glasses was rude, and left the bar for 20 minutes unattended while a crowd of 15 people waited to purchase drinks, and ultimately left the bar. My husband and I just recently had our wedding at Edgewood Tahoe! Edgewood Tahoe is an amazing place to get married, it is so beautiful all year round! We were so thrilled to be working with Brooke, she exceeded our expectations of wedding planning, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! She knew I was a little bit of a crazy one and was so sweet with every question and concern that I had. The day could not of gone any smoother than it did. We got married January 19, 2019. The venue was absolutely beautiful, and the people that we worked with to organize our event were wonderful. We spoke with Lori on several occasions by phone (since we were organizing our wedding remotely) and she was always so nice and helpful. She made sure she was always available for any questions we had, and I always came away with the feeling that she cared as much as we did about making sure our reception was fantastic. I would do everything again in a heartbeat, and would definitely recommend Edgewood as a place for a beautiful reception/wedding venue. We had so much fun, and made many lasting memories. I was just a guest but the servers were prompt and ON TOP of the alcohol, food, plates, it was just top notch! Booked the North Room for our son's wedding... Absolutely Fabulous! They got married on the lawn with a sailboat out on the water and soft waves lapping up on the sand. Then to the glass North Room for the reception with the most wonderful food and service. Every single detail was top notch. A great time for our 90+ friends and family. We are so happy we chose to have our wedding here on Feb. 18th, 2012. It was absolutely spectacular. It is so naturally beautiful that you don't have to add a lot of decor to it to make it look amazing. The staff were great and helpful, the food was the best food I have ever had at a wedding, and the setup was perfect. All of our friends and family said that it was the best food they have had and the most beautiful wedding they have attended! We highly recommend them. read more

My husband and I had our destination wedding here and absolutely loved it. This venue is exceptional. We got married on the beach and had our reception in the south room. It was flawless due to the amazing customer service. It rained on our wedding day and they allowed us to wait a few minutes before beginning the ceremony to see if it would pass and it did!!! We still got our dream beach wedding (that was super private) and really good pictures at sunset. The food (buffet) was great. They even sent us home with left overs the next day when we came back to pick up all our stuff. We are planning on having dinner at Edgewood for our 1st anniversary this month. My husband and I were married in August 2018 at the Edgewood. I am giving the Edgewood 2-stars based on the lack of communication from their sales manager / coordinator - Lori. The venue & scenery itself is a solid 5 stars - beautiful Lodge, lake view, golf course and club house (where wedding receptions are held). If you book your venue here, I HIGHLY recommend hiring an event planner. The Edgewood welcome packet states that the vast majority of couples who book at this venue do NOT hire an outside event planner which I believe is a complete mistake! I booked the Edgewood a year out from the wedding date. The venue just finished building their Lodge so there is a high demand for having weddings here since they now have an adjacent hotel that sits steps away from the club house. However, the Lodge is VERY pricey (in the summer months) so I'd recommend guests staying at the Hard Rock Hotel if possible. Most of the problems arose at the beginning of 2018 when they had a staffing change of their event manager / coordinator (which they never gave notification to us about). I would send an email or leave a voicemail and was left waiting for a response for weeks. This didn't happen just once. It happened over and over again in a 8 month span. When I finally asked to speak to Lori's manager, I received a response met with excuses that she was trying to catch up with her emails but was behind. The questions I had regarding the menu, table arrangement, outdoor lighting, etc were basic and easy questions; yet, many times I was asked to wait to get my answer because she'd have to check on it. These are things that a coordinator should already know like the back of their hand. The reception - Once we sat down for dinner, I noticed that none of the wedding party, myself and the groom had champagne. We were told that our drink limit had been reached during cocktail hour. It made no sense to us since we asked to ONLY have beer/wine/champagne served to guests during this time. We later found out that they were serving mixed drinks which is why our alcohol limit was reached so quickly! We decided to pay additional money so our guests could enjoy some drinks during the actual reception. It was incredibly difficult to get anyone to bring us a drink so the groom's uncle went to the bar to grab us all champagne and brought two at a time to our tables until everyone had a glass. This is minor but disappointing for our wedding party. The major issue was about an hour after the dancing had begun when a family member slipped and fell on the dance floor (most likely from a spilled drink). I was very disappointed with the overall service of the staff that night and their negligence to ensure the dance floor remained safe and dry. The next day - We went to pick up our decorations from the venue. Every item was thoughtlessly thrown into 2 of the plastic bins we brought. Candle holders were broken into glass shards. Our wooden wedding welcome sign was severely scratched at the bottom right corner and other items were bent and unusable. If I had been told that the staff was going to just throw every item loosely into a box, I would have stayed afterwards and taken down the decorations myself. Additionally, my veil (that apparently was left in the South waiting room) and an entire $50 box of string lights was missing. I know that the missing items are at my own my discretion, but I had relied on the staff to make sure everything was put inside our "cage" (where supplies are secured). After everything being said and done, I am leaving this experience feeling like the money my husband and I spent did not match the service that we received. I feel that Lori did not communicate well with me nor the staff at Edgewood. The executed contract and timeline of the wedding was not followed and left me (the bride) running around the venue minutes before my wedding ceremony making sure certain items were corrected. I would like to leave feedback for other people to know what I went through so that it doesn't happen to other couples on what should be a special and magical day. My advise - Hire your own wedding planner/coordinator! Good luck to you! read more

Edgewood really is the most beautiful place to get married in tahoe. We booked the venue without seeing it an were absolutely thrilled with the location. Yes it's a little more expensive than some of the other venues but there decor is so beautiful you really save costs. They're staff is incredibly helpful with setting everything up for you the day of. All of the food they serve is delicious as well. This place does lots of weddings so you feel confident that they know exactly what they're doing. read more

What an amazing experience we had on our wedding day here at Edgewood!! EVERYTHING went smooth and flawless!! My husband and I were married at Edgewood on August 27th. Deborah was amazing to work with. She answered any and all emails and PROMPTLY. Although I'm certain I became a typical worried ,frazzled bride , Deborah was always so pleasant to work with and speak to. All of our guests RAVED about the food, the service, the venue AND THE VIEW! The favors, tables, decor was all placed perfectly and looked beautiful!! We held our Rehearsal lunch the day before at Brooks Bar as well. The food and service was spectacular! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! We plan on returning on our one year Anniversary and staying at the new Hotel. read more
