The South Room deck in October. Photo cred: David Braun

We had an absolutely beautiful, incredible wedding at Edgewood on October 21st, 2018. We chose the South Room (a more intimate venue overlooking the lake) in the evening. The location was breathtaking, food was amazing and the staff was great--we didn't have to worry about any logistics throughout the entire event. We didn't have a wedding planner so we relied heavily on Brooke and Lori's help as we planned everything leading up to the big day. The day itself surpassed our expectations, with huge thanks to Brooke! Our friends and family couldn't stop talking about what an amazing time they had, and many mentioned how well Brooke handled the details with setup etc. (I was too busy and excited to notice everything myself.) As others have commented, we also had trouble with communication over the summer of 2018. I think the change in staffing must have been a challenge for them...however, they totally made up for it by the end and really impressed us. Lori helped finalize all the booking and payment related things and Brooke made sure everything ran smoothly despite our last-minute table edits, guest changes and all the other hoops we put her through! Meeting Brooke in person about 1.5 months before the wedding was super useful and I highly recommend everyone do the same--she was extremely organized, professional and just so great to work with. All in all, we had the wedding of our dreams in a fantastic location, and it went more smoothly than we had even hoped for. Edgewood is a special place for a wedding! P.S. Photos taken by our awesome photographer David Braun: https://www.yelp.com/biz/go-west-foto-south-lake-tahoe-4?uid=a-CtXGkmHkaaXSvnOLFxOg&utm_campaign=www_business_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)

We got married at Edgewood last winter. It was an incredible venue, but the wedding manager, Lori, was a nightmare to work with. We initially expressed our interest in securing our wedding date in May 2018 when we toured the venue. We were ready to provide a deposit on the spot that day. However, we were told it wouldn't be possible to receive/sign a formal contract until the following Monday (three days later). That was fine, but it ended up being far from the truth. It took another 4 months of numerous unreturned phone calls/voicemails for us to finally receive our formal contract from Edgewood and team. In the meantime, we lost out on our top vendors such as photographers and videographers who took other wedding clients while Lori held us up and couldn't complete the most basic of paperwork/clerical tasks on an acceptable timeline. Once our contract was finally signed, Lori was no better to work with leading up to the wedding. Thankfully we had our own full service wedding planner or my wife and I would have totally lost our minds dealing with more unreturned phones calls and planning issues. You know someone has a bad reputation when our own wedding planners were not at all surprised by the lack of promptness and poor communication from the venue's wedding department. As a final low blow, Lori and the wedding department failed to alert anyone at all during our wedding that we had vastly exceeded the agreed upon/estimated bar consumption. No Edgewood staff member asked if we wanted to extend the tab or switch to a cash bar. It wasn't like it was just slightly over either, we're talking 70%+ above the original estimate. Overall, Edgewood is still the best wedding venue in Tahoe... for now. But if they continue to treat clients the way we were, their reign atop the Tahoe wedding circuit won't last long. If you plan to get married here, I highly recommend having your own full service planner to minimize the amount of contact you have with their wedding team.

Edgewood is unbeatable. We didn't have to spend a lot for flowers & decorations for our wedding bec the facility itself was already beautifully donned up.the postcardesque surrounding is so breathtaking that adding artificial decorations could make it overwhelming.the staff, (cleaners, valet peeps, servers, chef (LONNY), receptionists, wedding coordinators-LORI/BROOKE/MEL-etc)were very accomodating, understanding,& helpful. We are all impressed by their quality service . And oh, food is the best!my hubby & I have decided to make it a habit to stay at Edgewood whenever we're in town. See you soon!xx

this venue has it all. One stop shop, great food, they can do it all, experienced helpful staff and let's not forget the Lake! it's right on the Lake. As a local wedding photographer, I always enjoy photographing at this location. By adding the superb new lodge! game changer! Don't hesitate to consider this venue, tough to beat!

Can I give 6 stars?? We had our wedding at Edgewood in January 2017. The wedding team is amazing and made my wedding day unforgettable. We did a brunch wedding, since the sun sets so early in the winter and wanted the lake in view the whole time, and the food was amazing! And the scenery can't be beat. If you're considering having your wedding here, stop considering and just do it. You won't regret it. :)

We went on the 2PM cruise today and had fantastic weather for a lake cruise. They advised us to start lining up around 1:30p, started boarding around 1:45p and were promptly cruising following key safety messages. Key things to note below: -There is available seating toward the front outside, if you appreciate some sun and a cool breeze these may be the seats for you! -Guests moved in and out throughout the cruise, we opted to stay in for most of it but had no issues moving around outside to take photos comfortably. -Snacks and drinks are available for purchase onboard. -They had comfy blankets available inside to take outside to keep warm (very nice touch and they appeared to be very clean) -They did a great job slowing down in Emerald Bay and highlighting wildlife nearby for viewing and photography. -Don't forget to bring cash to tip the well-deserving crew! -We had a cool mix of tourists and locals to chat with on the cruise. -There are padded bench style seats indoor and plastic chairs as well. The upper deck also had seating (no shade up top aside from some in the front) -There are restrooms on board, I didn't use them but they were available. Highly recommend for a relaxing and informative cruise around South Lake Tahoe & Emerald Bay. Will definitely cruise again on our next visit to South Lake Tahoe. Star employee - The gal in the ticket office helped us as our tickets printed oddly. She confirmed we were on the list and would be able to board without it. We also have a friend who is a photographer and we haven't had professional photos taken since our wedding 18 years ago so we thought The Landing would be the perfect place since they host weddings here and it's right next to the beach. There are so many excellent parts to mention but I will start with the staff. From the moment we walked in, everyone was so friendly and welcoming to us and our dog. Our 15 year old had just passed and so our 12 year old was a little lost and loved all of the attention. She was treated just like one of the family. They even allow dogs on the free shuttle which is so perfect so we were able to go into the village and have lunch with her. It's a downhill walk back and so pretty, so we enjoyed the fresh air back. They upgraded our room and the views of the lake were perfect. It was so easy taking Juno out for potty breaks. It was extremely quiet and clean. The heated floors and toilets are a nice touch. We had dinner one night in the restaurant and it is the best meal I've had in Tahoe. The Venison is unbelievably tender and flavorful. My husband loved his homemade pasta with huge prawns. Our server, Kevin, went above and beyond to make the night special. They even let us take a few pictures in the bar area which I think turned out really cool with all of the bottles and colors in the background. Of course we all come for Tahoe! This place is right on a perfect spot. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, some trees and grassy areas also made for perfect pictures. We were there right at the start of Memorial Day weekend so it was extremely quiet and peaceful. I'm sure it will get busy in the height of summer but even then being able to walk across the street from your room makes it so convenient. We want to thank everyone at The Landing for a perfect trip! We can't wait to do it again!

There's a mini fridge and Lavazza espresso machine and coffee pods. Heated bathroom floors, heated toilet seats, great shower pressure, and a bathtub with jets. Loved the touch with bath robes and slippers! They also have a rooftop bar with a direct view of the lake. One of the nights, there was a wedding and it was closed to hotel guests. The next day around 5:30pm there was live music- the duo was singing covers and taking requests. They were amazing! There was also complimentary charcuterie. Definitely a perfect spot to watch the sunset. Here are some other noteworthy amenities during our stay: Complimentary champagne from 3pm-10pm. Smores kits 6pm-10pm. Coffee, hot cocoa, tea, fresh apples in the lobby- and the best water from Tahoe. Free daily admission to the private Lakeside Beach. Heated pool and Jacuzzi. Fire pits. Even after we checked out, beach admission, parking and shuttle drives are still included for the whole day. Onsite restaurant, formerly known as Jimmy's which we didn't try. We stayed for a couple nights and wished we could stay longer. It was a stay that made us not want to leave the room and hotel! It was a perfect getaway and we can't wait to return for many more firsts together.

Check in was seamless and the front desk worker was able to get us two rooms only a few doors from each other. We ate at the landshark night one and it was empty. The kids did the pool every night and had a blast. Yes, there is a lot of chlorine in the pool but I understand why. The kids loved checking out the turtles everyone we walked by. Minor inconveniences/issues: The Cafe is only open until 5 or 6pm on weekends days which is fine, but unless you go to a bar there's no vending machines I could find for late night drinks or snacks. Going to the bar for a soda might be triggering to someone sober. Vending machines might be a nice addition. The room wasn't filthy but the couch had stains (presumably from pets but who knows). I understand they only have so much time to flip a room. The TV in the bedroom didn't work. I didn't complain or mention to the front desk as it didn't seem like a huge deal since there's another TV in the living room. I wasn't hugely fond of the curtains for the window facing the hallway inside the building. It isn't completely blackout so there is light from the hallway at all times. It also felt like people could see in and as a female alone with 3 kids that was a little worrisome. Thankfully we were at the end of the hall. Overall, would stay again.
