The tin ceilings were gorgeous and the exposed brick added a warmth that you can't get in a newer commercial space. We really enjoyed the DJ & dancing, but the floor plan of the building also allowed space to somewhat get away from the noise for some intimate conversation in the dining area. Well-lit and close parking areas were a plus for women leaving after dark. A great time was had here by all in attendance.

According to Facebook and also on their website, they offered a variety of foods on different days and I chose Sunday. I was attracted by the carving station in particular and many other items that were listed. Morning of the day that I was to visit, there was again a Facebook ad listing the foods that would be available that day. When I arrived at the restaurant, they were very busy. There was a waiting period of about 30 minutes. I had to sit outside where it was extremely extremely hot and I was getting bit by bugs. Once inside, I was disappointed to see that there was no carving station and items listed in their advertisement on Facebook that morning and other days for Sunday, which included prime rib, ribs, ham, etc. we're not available In all approximately 90% of what had been listed that morning on Facebook as well as in previous ads for Sunday, were not available. The manager (who is also the cook) informed me that the carving station with prime rib etc., was available on Friday. He could not explain why it was listed in their ad for Sunday. The breakfast served was good, but far from great or "interesting", which was kind of a letdown. It was just breakfast. Our room was a little cramped and the furniture etc. was very outdated, but the room was clean. Unfortunately they don't post their rates online on their website, and this is for good reason. They are simply outrageously overpriced for what you get. So whenever you see a B & B not publish their rates, BEWARE. Virtually all of them do. We try and stay at them whenever possible. Almost all B & B's of any repute publish their rates.

The best barbecue almost always comes from those unassuming hole in the wall places. At first glance, I wondered what exactly this industrial looking neighborhood had to do with good food. Still, I parked, walked in, and was immediately greeted by the unmistakable aroma of meat that had been slow smoking all day long. A very kind older lady welcomed me and explained that the buffet was all-you-can-eat for just $17. That sounded easy enough. I grabbed a plate and began my journey down the line. There were the staples: rice, collard greens, fried okra, hush puppies. Then came the showstoppers. A massive tray of mac & cheese, golden fried chicken, barbecue chicken, and pulled pork that looked like it had been tended with care. Oh, my. Off to the side sat squeeze bottles of sauce and ketchup, flanked by potato salad, cole slaw, and two varieties of pickles that added a crisp counterpoint to the richness of the meats. I ate far more than I intended, but every bite was worth it. The mac & cheese was excellent, very cheesy and full of flavor. Maybe not quite as good as when Mrs. K. blesses me with her recipe, but still, excellent. The barbecue chicken was moist and seasoned just right. The pulled pork was some of the best I have had, with a few larger pieces mixed in that gave it texture and depth. It was so good it really didn't need any sauce at all. If desserts were offered, I didn't see them. A small scoop of banana pudding would have tied the whole experience together in a perfect knot. Even without it, this was a five-star meal in my book.
