The best part of Rosalia's was our server. She was so sweet and friendly. The food was very generous as far as portion size. The salsa tasted very fresh and was my favorite part of the meal. The food itself was okay. Very bland. I don't even mean that it wasn't spicy. It just wasn't seasoned at all. Disappointing in that respect. We were pleasantly surprised to find a pretty good Mexican restaurant in tiny Orangeburg, South Carolina. The chips were served warm, the salsa was tasty and mild, very onion forward. The fajita's arrived sizzling and well-seasoned. About half meat and half onions and peppers. And the taco salad was served in a nice crispy flour tortilla bowl. The frozen strawberry Margarita was good, but the lime Margarita was made with a mix, not fresh lime juice. All in all a pleasant experience. read more

10/27/24 Dined in around 7:30 pm and had an absolutely wonderful time at Rosalia's! The food was super good and flavorful and seating was available as soon as we entered with wonderful service from our waitress Catherine who was very patient and knowledgeable assisting my parents, brother and I. We were just here and enjoyed an amazing lunch! The service was friendly and helpful. This is some of the better Mexican food I've had in a long time! The chicken soup really is amazing and the portion is Huge. The photo is AFTER I had already had enough to fill me up! My husband had a chicken rice and cheese special dish (I don't remember specifically what it's called but was a customer requested dish that on the menu now and he raved and raved about it! SO GOOD! Also we asked about a spicy salsa and we were promptly given one that had a lovely flavor! I wish we lived closer because we would be regulars, but we will stop in when we pass this area! read more

First off, this is my 2nd time ordering from them. The first time I ordered guacamole and chips with Veggie Fajitas. TERRIBLE... all they gave me was the shells, NO VEGGIES. THIS time, all I ordered was guacamole and chips. I was watching the server get my order together and noticed he didn't have any gloves on while picking up my chips, and this was after I saw him touching his face. The first time I ordered it, the lady wore gloves because I said something before she could get to them. I work in 2 restaurants and I don't play about people's food like that AT ALL. Opened up the guacamole, it looks nothing like the 1st time I ordered it and it was barely any avocado just mainly the veggie mix that used to make it and it was watery...I just threw everything in the trash. I'm vegan, so there's not much I do actually eat, but this was so simple to mess up. read more

Both the enchiladas and quesadilla were delicious. The quesadilla was not quite what I expected but no complaints! Rather than a thin quesadilla with a little cheese and meat, this one was loaded with seasoned chicken and ground beef! Came with a nice bed of lettuce, tomatoes, Cheese and guacamole. Spent the night in Orangeburg on our way north.....boy, the non-fast food options here are very limited and the Yelp reviews are varied. I have a feeling the pandemic was really hard on this small town. We chose Rosalia's and were very happy. It is in the downtown area about a 10 minute drive from our hotel with a large parking lot across the street. They also have a few outside tables on the sidewalk. I would say Rosalia's is the highlight of the historic area. The service was good and the food plentiful. They have VERY limited wine offerings and a little better selection of beers. The place is a bit run down - bench seat covers are cracked and the higher decorations and shelves haven't been dusted in a longtime. The good news is the the hot chips and fresh salsa were delicious. The chicken fajitas were delicious- ask about the spice levels - mine was a medium heat and were perfect! You get a huge plate of beans, fresh guacamole and lettuce on the side. My husband ordered the chicken and creamed spinach quesadilla. It was very tasty but we both agreed the fajitas were the star of the evening. Give it a try! read more

If I could give it Zero stars I would. Took forever for our drinks and our food. Then they did not tell me that they didn't have corn dogs and after waiting forever we were told they had to go to the store to buy some. So I canceled it. We ordered beef tacos, a go-to, as it is easy to assess the seriousness of a Mexican restaurant by how well a beef taco is seasoned. Overall, it was ok but a bit mild for my taste. My dinner companion who is not one to go for heavily spiced food even said it was bland. It also could have used more cilantro. Odd, as Mexican restaurants use cilantro quite generously. At least, the drinks were good. Yet, it is difficult to screw up gin and tonics. Service was average. The booth was clean aside from a torn seat. May visit again if circumstances allow. read more

The servers and waitress who served me were so kind and quick to attend to me throughout my whole time here! My draft Dos Equis was brought quickly, and was ice-cold. I ordered the 4 birria tacos, advertised for 12.99 - and I received 5 crispy golden fried birria tacos, still steaming, along with the delicious consommé (dipping sauce). I wasn't charged extra, I just received extra. The atmosphere here was also quite nice - music wasn't overly loud, and overall was the perfect place to enjoy some good Mexican food. In Orangeburg for maybe a month, and on my first night here (a Sunday) it was hard to find a highly rated restaurant nearby, or most anything not a chain. Yelped into Rosalia's authentic Mexican restaurant. Boy, am I glad I came! Easy to find. Easy parking. Small place but high ceilings make it roomy. I do love a small restaurant. Separate dining room and bar. About ten tables in the dining room. Service very friendly and super attentive. Asked for a Michelada with Modelo. Delicious, and big enough to swim in! Chips and salsa were awesome, the salsa just spicy enough and chips super hot. Ordered the Texans fajitas. Steak, Chicken and Shrimp. Huge, piping hot and delicioso. I could only eat a bit less than half. Boxed everything up and it will be a filling lunch tomorrow. One negative, the menus are paper booklets unable to be cleaned, so it's hand sanitizer or if you're super COVID concerned might be an issue. So, a couple of tips. One, I'm guessing on a Friday or Saturday this place will be packed with locals, it's that kind of spot. So I'd get there early. Two, unless you and your dad are both playing for the Green Bay Packers, I would say the fajitas is actually fajitas for two, and the fajitas for two would be fajitas for four. Rosalia's is a slam dunk. Reasonable prices too for the (huge) portions. If you're in Orangeburg for lunch or dinner you have to try. Mucho Gusto! read more

They called the cops on us because we politely refused to pay an inaccurate bill. We were finishing our dinner, waiting on our check when a couple walking out before us warned us to check our bill against the menu prices. His was $10 higher than the menu prices. Ours was $12! We did the math and found that ours was off too and told the waitress we would pay our bill when it was correct. On the back of the menu it says prices subject to change with menu update....menu update means they reprint the menu and update the prices. It ***DOES NOT MEAN*** they change the prices at their whim, without notice! Food was good, waitress was nice and attentive. We will ABSOLUTELY not be back with a blatant attempt of robbery. Inflation has hit everyone. Be honest and transparent with your prices. Don't try to steal from your customers.... How many people have paid these bills without questioning them?! They've probably stolen hundreds of dollars from their regular customers and then some! read more
