The best barbecue almost always comes from those unassuming hole in the wall places. My inner voice of confidence, the one that says "it's gonna be great," was already humming before I even stepped inside. At first glance, I wondered what exactly this industrial looking neighborhood had to do with good food. Still, I parked, walked in, and was immediately greeted by the unmistakable aroma of meat that had been slow smoking all day long. A very kind older lady welcomed me and explained that the buffet was all-you-can-eat for just $17. That sounded easy enough. I grabbed a plate and began my journey down the line. There were the staples: rice, collard greens, fried okra, hush puppies. Then came the showstoppers. A massive tray of mac & cheese, golden fried chicken, barbecue chicken, and pulled pork that looked like it had been tended with care. Oh, my. Off to the side sat squeeze bottles of sauce and ketchup, flanked by potato salad, cole slaw, and two varieties of pickles that added a crisp counterpoint to the richness of the meats. I ate far more than I intended, but every bite was worth it. The mac & cheese was excellent, very cheesy and full of flavor. Maybe not quite as good as when Mrs. K. blesses me with her recipe, but still, excellent. The barbecue chicken was moist and seasoned just right. The pulled pork was some of the best I have had, with a few larger pieces mixed in that gave it texture and depth. It was so good it really didn't need any sauce at all. If desserts were offered, I didn't see them. A small scoop of banana pudding would have tied the whole experience together in a perfect knot. Even without it, this was a five-star meal in my book. This place has good food and good southern hospitality! Delicious BBQ sauce, and hush puppies - all I can say whoo doggie!! So pleasant, I stopped here on a business trip and was very hungry. If you're looking for a hole in the wall with delicious food, this is the place. There is absolutely nothing fancy about this place and the food was incredible. It's buffet style so you get to try everything. The bbq was good but the fried chicken was perfect. The green beans were perfectly seasoned. Yesterday was a great day with my friend Tom. We did our annual Dukes BBQ in Orangeburg and then drove to Cameron for the best pecans money can buy. She wanted fried chicken, and so we drove the 5 minutes off of I-26 and went in to eat. $16/person for All You Can Eat buffet. Small buffet. Fried chicken, barbecue chicken, pulled pork, rice & some kind of pork hash, baked beans, green beans, mac & cheese, hush puppies, coke slaw, pickle slices, and several different sauces. Included soft drinks and teas. BEST barbecue I think I've ever had!!!!! Outstanding. We are two plates each. Do yourself a favor and stop in to eat. Excellent, excellent barbecue. I was expecting pork, instead I got chicken! It wasn't bad just not what I expected. Hush puppies were great. Something spicy in the green beans (not a fan). Baked beans were great. Chicken...wing with some mild sauce. Phil had the fried. Good. We were confused when we entered, did not know it was buffet @$15 adult. Sat ourselves, and followed two others in line. I'm working in Orangeburg for a few months and have been having trouble finding restaurants on Yelp. Its not really used here. Hence the minus-10 reviews as of yet. I'm helping to change that. Dukes is an old fashioned barbecue joint, serving great Carolina barbecue. They had a buffet for $15 which I'd have liked to try, but I was working my COVID-19 testing site and can't take that much time away from it. The older lady who served me looked to me to be the owner, or one of them. Everything cooked fresh. I had the pork sandwich, and its delicious! Mac and cheese side was great, too. And all reasonably priced. Not open every day of the week, and I'm not sure what days, so check first. Well worth the trip, you'll love it! read more

Went to this "buffet" after a college tour thinking we're finna eat this food up, we come in, there's a long line wrapped around the building for what? The food options had nothing but 9 options and the drink options consisted of tea, unsweetened tea, and pink lemonade..while I was in the line waiting on my food, this lady sneezed in her hand, and didn't even think twice about going to the bathroom and washing her hands. I only ate the hush puppies because those were the only tolerable thing to eat, my stomach was on ten, the people in there were not looking classy, the food was bad, disgusting and nasty. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

Bought two tickets for a fundraiser for the SCV for tonight's dinner. I walked up to the window, placed my order and only had to wait a few minutes for my order to be done. Very fast take out service! When the wonderful lady called me up to pay, I asked if I could add a brownie to my order as well since they were sitting there as a dessert offering! She said sure you can have them all!! I said "In that case, I'll take two! Chocolate is a girls best friend-who needs diamonds!!!" I loved that she had a sense of humor as she enjoyed the comment! Brought dinner home and was surprised by how full the take out container was! Love the cole slaw and my husband loves the actual BBQ. He was not as thrilled with my comment about chocolate or the fact that I would share my brownies. Great customer service and good food!! read more

Horrible so called "barb q" restaurant. At $14.00 per plate, there should have been some choices, however, all they had was chicken with hot sauce poured over it, and dried out pork. The "sauce" they had tasted like nothing more than ketchup and mayo mixed together. The green beans had absolutely no seasonings. The "hushpuppies" tasted like they were made with jiffy cornbread mix. All in all, a terrible place to waste money on food. read more

Fried chicken is on point, pulled pork needs sauce (I went with the house BBQ & Hubs went with the house spicy), and the baked beans are darn delicious. They even make their own pickles here - crunchy slices of bread & butter or plain dill! Potato salad looked well made but I could not partake as it had peppers in it. Never made it to the coleslaw either as was too busy stuffing ourselves with the other goodies. Dine in is all you can eat (yes, ALL YOU CAN EAT) and very casual. A quality BBQ buffet for 11 bucks are you kidding me??? I'm from Nashville and was driving through from Charleston and I've been to my fair share of BBQ places. No other place made me feel like home than this one. Hush puppies taste nothing like I've ever had and the fried chicken skins are incredible. Pulled pork was a little dryer than I expected but this is home cooking and the home made BBQ sauce cured that right up. Nothing was too greasy either!! After a disappointing performance by the Miami Hurricanes in their first ACC game, I was driving back home to Miami looking for some Southern comfort. I came across a billboard telling me to exit and boy, did I make the right decision. This place ain't fancy but the food definitely trumps a Michelin star restaurant (maybe I'm exaggerating a bit but please forgive me, I was starving). Drowning in my own tears the night before, the buffet and wonderful stuff uplifted my spirits at just $11. It's an experience for sure. You eat at long tables and it's cafeteria style, it's a lot of food and the price is really good. I'm not a big pork fan but if you are this is a fun place to experience a southern food, souther style. I don't need to go back and I know enough people go there that they won't miss me. As you try to find your way to Duke's you find yourself asking if you are in the right part of town, its not in a little downtown or a business district, but its food is well worth the journey. I and my daughters are Mac & Cheese lovers til the end and we sample it wherever we go. Duke's is amazing, the only thing its missing is a little cream cheese. It's cheesy and soft and full of flavor! When my husband told the lady in the kitchen how much we liked it she even brought us an extra side as she saw we were all sharing a "large plate to go". The pork is tender and plenty, the sauce is a mustard base sauce that even our kids liked who don't like mustard much, though they love most everything mind you. We are a family of foodies :-) The staff was attentive and nice and the sweet tea comes with every meal and is in a pitcher on every table. We live about an hour from this place and we WILL be back! read more
