A close friend who's a realtor, mentioned that he refers a number of his clients to Carla's office, and suggested I call. I spoke to Maria, and shared information regarding the coverage I had recieved, and the property in question. Maria promised to get back to me quickly, and she kept her word. She let me know that I had an exceptionally low rate with the existing carrier, and should definitely renew it. She didn't try to upsell me, invent silly reasons why the existing coverage was not good, or any of the other shenanigans that too many of us have come to expect from some insurance folks, sad to say. She also shared with me other insurance options her company offers, and helpful advice around future insurance purchases. Overall, even though I didn't end up purchasing a policy, Maria and the team at Carla's office was outstanding for being transparent, helpful and responsive. I explain the issue clearly within seconds, and they still waste an hour circling the same basic information. Support is clueless, disorganized, and painfully slow. Update--shockingly we received more letters from Blue Shield saying now the total we owe them is…read more$70,000.! Weird that Blue Shield would not go to the medical provider who we gave the checks to (the medical provider cashed the checks) instead of coming to us... We did not keep a dime... Every check was forwarded to the medical provider who was billing them for the amounts. Evidently Blue Shield negotiated a new deal with the medical provider and wants some of its money back that it had paid. The medical provider has told us that they are working with Blue Shield to work it out... hopefully, they will. Have not heard from Blue Shield since those new letters--hopefully the medical provider and Blue Shield can work it out and quit bothering us asking for tens of thousands of dollars which we never touched!!
