I've been on two tours now - the Strathcona one around Halloween and a mini one on the U of A campus yesterday. Nadine is a great speaker! Full of animation, enunciates clearly, and speaks loudly enough to hear her in the back of the group! She has a wealth of knowledge so ask questions - especially if you can walk with her between stops! One of my favourite stories was about Pembina Hall being used as a morgue during the Spanish Flu pandemic after the soldiers were returning home from the war. My friend and I were looking for an affordable, fun night out when we saw an ad for these ghost tours on Facebook. We chose the U of A ghost tour which was about 1 1/2 hours in length. To start off, the tours are managed by Eventbrite which was really easy to use. The booking process took less than five minutes each after which the tickets were emailed to us. After arrival to the Rutherford House (the meeting place) it was soon apparent that there were only going to be the two of us, plus Nadine who was our tour guide. Nadine had no issues going with a small group. The atmosphere of the night, which started at 9PM, could not have been spookier as it was pitch black, and the wind was howling. It was like we had the whole campus to ourselves as few, if any, students were seen that night. We learned a lot about the U of A's history, with lots of interesting trivia. Nadine, was very personable and had a lively sense of humor. She was easy to hear and spoke very clearly. After this experience I will never look at the U of A the same way ever again. The stories were indeed spooky, and I find myself reflecting on the content a day later. There probably won't be many tours like this one left this year, but I encourage anyone to sign up for this when Nadine sets up shop again in the New Year. Overall, my friend and I had a great time despite the chilly weather. The tour was well worth the price of admission. A friend and I did the haunted trolley tour and loved it! The trolley was restored beautifully and Nadine was a great storyteller. The trolley was heated for those that don't like walking in the cold. I made the reservations online. Really, easy to book. The tour was about an hour long. The scariest part for my friend was being on the trolley stopped in the middle of the bridge while some of the stories were told. This was a great way to learn some of Edmonton's history! read more

This review is for the High Level Bridge Street Car tour only. It is an hour of your night stepping back in time in this beautifully restored street car! The street car is beyond gorgeous. It's cozy. It's heated too. I was able to bring my latte with me when I walked up into this time capsule. The tour departs right on time. Parking was plentiful right on Calgary Trail - and we had free street parking! The tour starts with loading passengers onto the trolley from an alley. There was no covered space in case it rains. Some points to consider. For an hour long tour, 40 dollars was steep. But I get it. It is an intimate setting and there is only one trolley! I've been to lots of different ghost tours in lots of different cities. This particular ghost tour was not exciting. If this tour was a walking tour I would be disappointed. If you are afraid of heights, this tour is not for you. You park right on the center of the high level bridge for a very long time! The views were fantastic. I learned a lot about Edmontonian history. I crossed riding the trolley off my Edmonton bucket list. read more

Nadine from Edmonton Ghost Tours is awesome! She's not only personable, but funny and knowledgable as well. I met her today a Yelp event and enjoyed an awesome Ghost Tour. The tours were about a half hour each on the U of A campus. I had no idea that it was so haunted. I was in the first group so she told us an extra story about Pembina Hall! I love history and sometimes I can't believe all these stories about Edmonton. I've heard that the Spanish Flu hit Edmonton, but it just doesn't seem real until you hear about it from the Ghost Lady. She also took us to the Emily Murphy House. I knew that was haunted, but I didn't know the history. I would absolutely recommend a Ghost Tour from Nadine. Not just during the Halloween season, but throughout the year. She said she does tours throughout the year! I might have to hop on one of the booze cruises she was mentioning. The Edmonton Ghost Tour around the university was so fascinating! I was suprised by the fact that I learned more about history in general, than ghosts, haha. I learned so much! Nadine would teach us the history of a building on campus, or about a particular person, and after an epic story, we'd learn about the ghostly connection. My favorite story was about Emily Murphy's house, and Mary Macdonald's brothel. Both women were huge in Edmonton's history, and thanks to this tour, I learned more about their lives. Heck, thanks to the ghost tour, I even learned why Edmonton is the capital. I'd highly recommend this tour to history buffs, ghost lovers, and people who want an entertaining walk that will teach them more about the amazing city of Edmonton read more

Nadine is pleasant, informative, and has lots of spooky/tragic historical information to keep us, her audience entertained! In fact, I noticed how often people would slow down while walking by as she was so engaging that she would draw them in as well! My friend and I took our sons (10 & 9) on the tour. It was very interesting. I learned a lot about Edmonton's darker history. It was fine for the kids they really enjoyed it. There was only one touchy part where a woman and a man had a "business transaction" and my son asked what business they were doing. Otherwise fine for all who aren't squeamish! I heard about the Edmonton Ghost Tours of Old Strathcona many years ago but never tried it. I saw a tweet recently that mentioned the last tours of this season were happening on November 1st so I thought "we should that!". The weather turned out a bit colder than planned but we have had far worse starts to November. The tour guide Nadine Bailey is the founder of Edmonton Ghost Tours. She does tours in Old Strathcona and at the UofA/Garneau area. Tours run 7pm for Old Strathcona and 9pm for the UofA/Garneau tours. The tour takes about 75-80 mins and you walk a few Kilometres (maybe 3-4?). Nadine is a great story teller and she says that all of the stories are true and come from her own research and from interviews from shop owners and residents of the areas. From what I heave heard each tour can be quite different because she doesn't have the time to go through all of the stories on each tour. I think we heard about 7-8 stories on our tour. I think our group was larger than the usual crowds because it was the last night of the 2016 season. I think we had about 45 people total in our group. Nadine was very easy to hear as she can project her voice quite well and she has a megaphone to use when required. At $10/person it is a fun date night out on a fun walking tour. Whether you believe in ghosts or not you should have a bit of fun with this one! read more

We did the Edmonton ghost tour this evening. Nadine was funny and engaging and so knowledgable about the history of Edmonton. It was so interesting to hear true stories of the past. Nadine was our Tour Guide for the Whyte Avenue Ghost Tour. She is an excellent story teller! She also went above and beyond her story telling role by making sure I got some cream for my coffee at one of our stops when the waitress brought me milk instead of cream. She had to go next door to get the cream! The 2 hours flew by and when it ended I was wanting more! I recently went on a Ghost Tour in downtown LA and I can tell you that this one was just as good as the LA one. You will learn about local stories and history that you probably never knew. So interesting. If you love history, ghosts and spooky stories don't miss out. I highly recommend this tour. read more
