The teachers lead the class through singing and encouraging parents to do the same. Even the worse singer...hahaha...me sounds good when blending your voice with a great lead. Christina quickly makes the group comfortable through singing the hello song and then switching song to song mixed in with movements with filmy scarves, instruments in bags, and lively dancing. It is AMAZING. Whether you have infants or older toddlers, this class is like no other- the teachers are upbeat, engaging and passionate, and put so much thought into each semester, which is called a different instrument (so cute!) Along with a songbook, you also get a CD (my daughter loved this during car rides as well as at home), and honestly the songs are probably the best I've heard for kids (they're similar to the Laurie Berkner Band, where they encourage movement, following direction and acting things out along with the music which is awesome for toddlers!) We are Music Together's biggest fans- we continued with their Zoom classes while quarantined (so thankful that they continued), and even without all the class perks of instruments, scarves, parachutes, fairy lights, etc. my daughter was glued to Zoom the whole session. I was blown away when I found out he gave lessons, and the power of his playing continues into the lessons he gives. He asks all the same questions that every teacher has asked me in the past but what sets Nick apart from the rest is that he continues to make sure that we are on the path that I need to improve my playing speed and ablilty and knowledge of music theroy, instead of just telling me this is the best way to go. He involves you in the process, which makes you feel your part of the whole process, not just sitting there and copying what he's playing. He makes sure you know why it's done a certain way and how whatever you're playing correlates to the different scales and keys that are being played. Her studio is clean and comfortable, with a couch for parents or other students to wait on, has nice lighting, and good instruments. My 9 year old son (with an ADHD diagnosis) has only had two lessons with her so far but he is SO STOKED to practice piano all the time. She was able to form a good repoire with him, which really helped. She also sets up a sticker chart to incentivize kids to improve, for the chance of winning prizes. I'm really impressed with Linda's teaching style and demeanor. The cost is a bit pricier than I can actually afford, but if playing piano actually does help to improve focus and math skills (that's what studies say), it will be worth it!
