This was our first time here so the server explained how ordering on the slip works. Wait time wasn't terrible. And like I mentioned before, this place was so packed and full of people. All the servers that night were weaving through aisles, delivering food, and taking orders. They were all hustling. Food was delicious. We started off with a couple of rolls like California Rolls, Avocado, Tuna, Salmon, and Tamago. The sushi rolls were pretty small, but I didn't have a problem with it. The flavor of the sauce was great: savory, slightly sweet, it was reminiscent of a teriyaki flavor for me. And lastly, we had the BC Roll, Alberta Roll, Crunchy Roll, Philadelphia Roll, the seared Beef Nigiri again, and a few other rolls. In particular, my good friend from U of A gave high praise for Tokiwa and said it was the best ramen in the city, so I decided to give it a go. The first day I went, it was a busy Saturday morning, I got there 20 minutes before opening, and there was still a line that I had to wait in, so keep that in mind and prepare for that, get there early enough if it's a Saturday morning and you want to avoid waiting in line. The ramen was amazing, so flavorful, so nuanced, and I never had ramen quite like it before, it was the Yuzu Shio. So delicious, the service and staff was amazing as well. The second day I went was on a weekday around 1 PM and there was no wait that time, I was seated immediately. I had the Spicy Goma, and it was so good that I still am thinking about it even now, even while surrounded by all the ramen shops here in LA. The Spicy Goma was my favorite because I have a knack for spicy foods. Definitely try Tokiwa Ramen, it was one of my favorite eats while I was in Edmonton.

Dishes that I would definitely recommend are the nabe udon, cream udon (not pictured), their yam avocado roll, and their volcano roll. I think everything for the most part was good, only complaint would be that their chicken karaage was a little dry. Other than that, I think my overall experience was quite good and I hope to come back and try other items!
