Do Not order online for this shop. I made a small order, 3 items, and was charged a sent a shipping number. After about a week of checking on shipping, it had never left the store. Label was printed, but not in the system yet. I to reach out to find out what was going on. I was told that 2/3 of my items were not in stock. I requested a cancellation, but was told the package was already out. I checked it was not in the usps system yet. I requested a total refund and was only sent a refund for the items they didn't have and they have shipped 1 item which is less expensive than the shipping I now have to pay. This is not good business. If you're out of stock of an item or multi items, contact your customer and work it out. Don't wait a week for them to figure it out. I walked into Ed's with absolutely zero knowledge of fly fishing gear or tactics. After talking with Ed for a solid 30-40 minutes about what kind of equipment I would need, a start to finish talk-through of how to properly use the tackle and even a few suggestions on places to fish, I was able to leave and catch my first fish on a fly rod. We did a float trip with Ed's Fly Shop in July of 2023 and it was amazing!! The guides are super knowledgeable and take care of everything for you. I am inexperienced with fly fishing but my husband is very experienced. Robert and Tyler were able to meet us at our different experience levels so we both had a great time. They were so happy and celebratory every time we caught a fish!! The food was gourmet and they accommodated my dietary restrictions without complaint. They know the river well, so know the good places to camp and stop for fishing. I would highly recommend floating with Ed's. As a fly fisherman getting back into the sport that phone conversation led to at least a dozen more. Ed re-educated me on all the newest products an technology not once trying to hard sell me on the most expensive but rather the most practical for my needs. I've updated this review as the information is now incorrect (from 1 star to 3). All items were received as requested, it just took a long time to get them. This was explained due to a vendor having one of the items on back order; not the shop's fault. It was great for the shop to offer the exchange, but their communication with the customer could be improved from my experience on this order (although previous orders have never had an issue). -------- I'm very disappointed with Ed's fly shop. I received two sling packs for Christmas, both coming from Amazon orders fulfilled by Ed's. I e-mailed them directly in order to see if an exchange could me made for other items as I had no need to two packs. They agreed, I sent back one of the packs (not through Amazon since I didn't order it) and then they never exchanged the pack for any of the requested items. I emailed them with no response. This is the worst online buying experience I've ever had and really disappointing for an industry that has generally had awesome customer service. Buyer's beware!!! My dealing wasn't to pleasant I tried to purchase an item that was said to be instock with expedited shipping. And about 12 hrs later got a message saying there's a problem they couldn't ship item to call long story short. I explained I like to have item within a time frame. That I was at work and I would give a call on break well no answer back and on break tried calling and couldn't get through so I sent another message. Explaining. I could t get through only till I asked for a refund I finally got a message back and only good thing is I got my refund back quickly . And a message saying I should have called them I did I tried between my time zone and work I just guess we both are too busy So I know things happen and can't help if item isn't instock but said it had 2 instock and I sent message saying I really like to get item if they could get it to me within 5 days. I think that's a reasonable amount of time with paying for 2 day shipping service I actually named two or three other brands to see if any was instock and could be expedited shipped out. Still no response back I don't know but I guess it was good I didn't get a response back because I will do business elsewhere anyway maybe a great place but my experience wasn't great. read more
