This went on for almost two minutes as if I was a ghost. Then another guy arrived to be served and stepped right in from of me and immediately she looked up and said to him: "Hello, can I help you?" He smiled back at her and said "Actually, I'm his son and we had a question for you about our gift card" I'm an old grandpa working outdoors all summer with a healthy sun tan and white beard. My son is a twenty something good looking young man. So after she helps us, we go to get drywall. The young lad in charge of the drywall isle goes off to get a forklift to bring the product down for us to working level. Comes back a long time later, lowers the dry wall products down to lower shelf and then, leaves, without offering to help us put it one the flat cart for taking. A long time passes he is not coming back. Discouraged about being ignored like this, twice, my son offers to get help. The panels are still two high were the young lad had put them to be accessible without a step ladder. He finally finds someone who tell him he was getting ready to go on break but will do us the favor. He comes and takes a look and says we need a step ladder and leaves. Where did he go? We don't know. Finally the drywall isle young lad comes back, brings a step ladder and him and my son load the 20 drywall sheets on to our cart. At the counter I see they already know their customer service grade is an F minus because he quickly goes past the screens and hands me the paper receipt i requested but doesn't ask if I want a copy emailed; something that every other HomeDepot I have been to asks me. At the loading dock, there is nobody to help this grandpa load, and no one shows up to offer help. I tell my son as we are driving away, I can help by providing feedback when the normal feedback email is ent my way. They have my account when I paid and it has my email and I always get feedback emails and have never given HomeDepot anything below 4 stars. Surprise surprise again. No emails in days. I have been shopping at this Home Depot for at least seven years since I bought a parcel in the mountains to build a cabin on. I last shopped there two years ago. Something has gone awfully wrong here. This is not your high quality Home Depot I have been shopping at for over 20 years. Is this going to get typical everywhere going forward in America? I don't know, I hope not but I am not holding my breath and I am going to brace myself for even worst next time I visit this store, or better yet find an alternative. On a positive note Home Depot has everything handy men like me or contractors need and I am willing to put up with the rude service as long as I get the products I need to finish my little cabin in the woods. They are known and trusted not only by locals, but also top contractors from Grand Junction, Telluride, Crested Butte, and beyond. If you are looking for the top names in high end appliances, they are your answer. If you are just looking for a washer and have lots of questions, they are your answer. You will get your own dedicated salesperson who will walk through your buying process with you and get you the best deals possible. You will get one on one attention and they will help find what you want and need. I would like to mention that I did read the other reviews, and those 1 star reviewers do not understand that factories can change their chip dates at any time, even due to issues such as freight trucks not arriving on time, and that is completely out of the control of businesses and salespeople everywhere across many industries. They do not make these appliances at the store. I know, a shocker. It's a real shame to see blame put on those who not control the supply chain. As for them not standing behind their products, not only does every new appliance come with a factory warranty, but those manufacturers do typically require a service call or two before the unit is replaced. Also out of the control of the businesses and salespeople. Rules are rules. I have been in the industry, and I am also a current customer. My refrigerator, dishwasher, range, over the range microwave, washer, and dryer is from Tri River Appliance. They have all been working amazingly for years now. Their people have been unfailingly friendly and--in general--responsive. However, I ordered an expensive new kitchen range, paid (in advance) about $800 for delivery and installation. After the delivery date was arbitrarily changed, I was also informed that all prep work including _exact_ relocation of the vent connection would have to be performed in advance at my expense. This proved to be prohibitively expensive. I ultimately had to cancel the range and pay a ridiculous ($600!) re-stocking charge. I may still purchase a major appliance from Tri River in the future if they can match big-box prices. However, I can't consider them for installation--and my expensive mistake could easily have been avoided if they'd been more clear about the exact requirements for installation.
