I have been seeing alternative care providers for almost 50 years. After moving to the Charlottesville area, I had been looking for an opportunity to continue this with someone in the area. I paid Dr. Abbott's $850 new patient fee with the presumption that I would finally be able to resume my regular, semi-annual consultations with an alternative care practitioner. After being his patient for less than 6 months, I had a dispute with the patient care coordinator in a chat message exchange. Dr. Abbott entered the conversation and said I could no longer be his patient. I told Dr. Abbott there was a misunderstanding, as can happen in such text exchanges. I asked that we try to resolve our differences because I wanted to remain his patient. Dr. Abbott ignored this request. Without future semi-annual visits with Dr. Abbott, being his patient for less than 6 months had negligible value to me. Because of this, I asked for a full (or partial) refund. This request was ignored. I went to great lengths to explain why I felt I should get a refund and that I might make a complaint to the BBB. Then Dr. Abbott accused me of extortion and threatened legal action if I continued.

This review is long and overdue, but it needs to be said so other individuals and couples don't go…read moreto this incompetent practitioner. My wife and I saw this practitioner back in November of 2023. From the initial consultation which she decided to do over video call because she was on vacation in Costa Rica. During the video call, my wife and I could tell that her attention was not with us. She hardly had listened to anything we had to say and kept cutting us off. She seemed like she was in a big rush, and it seemed she didn't want to hear anything we had to say despite paying her $267.00 for a "consultation". Towards the end of the conversation, she just advised us to purchasing several medications costing from $200.00-300.00 along with doing a "special" lab test called Dutch test which cost about $500.00-1,000.00 as well her scheduling another 15 minutes follow up for $100.00 if we had any further questions or concerns. My wife and I left the video appointment more confused than going into it and she didn't make it any easier. With that said, my wife and I decided to give her a second chance with the follow up appointment which was also video call. However, due to a family emergency we were unable to attend, and we gave her sufficient notice that we were unable to attend. Surprisingly, she acknowledged our emergency and replied to me over text that she understood that this is an emergency, and she wouldn't charge me the $75.75 missing appointment fee. After a few days what do I see in my mobile banking a charge from Copesthetic Health for $75.75. Obviously, I filled out a dispute with my bank, and I was upset and assured myself I would do everything possible to get every penny of mine from her, which I did, and she didn't want to she was giving my bank the run around for weeks. I made it very clear to her what she did was messed up over the phone and was loud and clear about it. Not just that, what other reviews have said about her is accurate as well. Her communication lacks, her scheduling is very sporadic, no follow up, and is money hungry and is unknowledgeable in her field. From the beginning it was a hit or miss with her she never replies to text messages, emails, etc. What's the point of putting your personal phone number online if you don't respond? She clearly never prioritizes her patients and don't give me that BS that "you're not my only patient". Perhaps hire an assistant to handle your crap if your to "busy" to yourself? Everyone reading this, PLEASE save yourself the time and trouble of dealing with her, it's NOT worth the stress, time, money. If I could give less than one star I would. I really hope this review will not only make herself a better person, but an honest and professional medical practitioner.

As I read it, I was delighted to find someone that could relate to how I was feeling. I setup my initial appointment right way. During my initial visit, I found Dr Cope to be a kind, center person, who genuinely cares about client and she wants to share her knowledge with her clients. During my first visit, we reviewed my many menopause symptoms (brain fog, depression, lack of focus, hair loss, etc.) and my clinical history. Right away Dr Cope put her knowledge and expertise to work and had a plan of action which consisted of supplements, tinctures and tests. After the first week of treatment, I felt like myself again, I hadn't felt like this in months. I couldn't be more impressed by Dr Cope's bedside matter, expertise and balanced approach to treatment.
