We were part of a huge birthday party group so I'm sure the experience is different with a typical sized party. On the plus side, my order was correct and my salad was delicious! It was huge and full of fresh veggies. On the other side, I didn't have water for at least 30 minutes. I had to steal my mom's glass. I did get a refill with my dinner eventually. Although it seemed the orders were mostly right, the wait staff basically just yelled out the plate and someone raised their hand and it was placed in front of the first hand up. I don't know how many were right or not. In the end, the salad was good, I would have liked more water. The chips at the table were good too, but they don't have dishes for the salsa, just a jar. This was my first time eating at Eduardo's and it was great! My fiance comes here often when he's working in Laredo and has always had good food. This visit was no exception. We came around lunch time on a weekday so it was pretty busy. Our waitress took our drink orders and brought complimentary chips and salsa while we pondered the menu. Their regular menu is extensive but they also have a lunch menu that's available everyday. I went with the $8.99 ribeye special and wasn't disappointed. It was cooked perfectly medium rare and was a pretty big piece of meat. It came with potatoes, beans, and small salad. My only suggestion would be a little more seasoning but for $8.99 it was damn good. While the steak was good my fiance's brisket filled bacon wrapped jalapeños bullets were the best. The cream sauce over the top was off the chain. I bribed him with most of my steak for a few of those bullets. They also have a separate bar area and happy hour margaritas for $1.99 too. I mean, seriously, $1.99?! If I didn't have to drive all the way back to San Antonio after I would have put a few of those bad boys away. Welcome to Eduardo's, honestly this wasn't my first choice today the shit hole next door was. However once there I wasn't impressed at all so here I sit. What can I say where do I start, walked in the door and was immediately greeted by the manager who introduced himself and treated me as if I was an old friend. I'm seated on the center of the main dining room a rather stately room with many animal mounts adorning the walls, the mood amongst the other diners is upbeat and a great vibe is waffling throughout the place. The complimentary chips are brought out and my drink order is taken. The chips are accompanied by a bowl of regrows beans and a dinner salsa, the body and flavor of the salsa is bold and vibrant the heat is good as well. My server tonight is Ana it's her second day and she's blessed with me as a customer. I request the house salsa verde it is brought out and the flavor, heat and intensity is over the top certainly some of the best that I've had anywhere in my travels. The menu is a smorgasbord of all food types with Mexican, Tex Mex, Bar b Que and even the gold old Hamburger well represented. I started with a bowl of Tortilla Soup, I felt that the soup was lacking its soul so I requested cilantro and onions and with a twist of lime a splash of salsa verde it was really speaking to me now. I chose the Portrero Plate with the smoked brisket and sausage with melted jack cheese and veggies. My friend had the Basil Chicken Plate with the mashed taters and a veggie medley topped with a cream sauce. What a great experience that I had here today this place is certainly more than I expected the staff here are great they went over and above to make sure my meal was great. Service was slow even with it being almost empty. Bake potato was under cooked and the steak was a bit on the salty side. The place looks good from the inside and out but the boot was definitely uncomfortable. I should of sat in a chair table. The food is horrible here. It used to be a great place to eat, but I don't know what happened. The food is either over cooked or lacking something. Sometimes the dish is too greasy. Last time we went to have dinner on a Friday night the enchiladas were burnt which made them difficult to eat. The service is also very bad, you get seated and then 10-15 later you might get a server to take your order even though the place isn't packed. Steak was also good, a bit beyond medium rare but juicy and tender and seemed much larger than the lunch special size. Really have no complaints other than the time it took to get my food and the communications issues. Not sure why ratings are so low but it never got very crowded so can't help but think the low ratings are hurting their business. Came back for lunch a few months later, still a language issue for me but they found an English speaking waitress for me. More Crowed this time, the place may be catching on. Had the opportunity to visit for lunch today. My son who works nights wanted to enjoy a steak and the place he originally wanted to visit was closed on Mondays so we visited Eduardo's instead since it was across the street. My son really enjoys steaks and ordered a 16oz ribeye, cooked medium. It arrived medium well, and had no seasoning. It also showed clear signs that it was previously frozen. The veggies were under cooked as well. As for me, I chose the buffet option which offered two flavors of "enchiladas" rice, refried beans. They do offer some pork chicken and soups. The buffet has multiple trays but you can't reach some of the items in the back since it's only a one side buffet option. You'll see food droppings from the further trays on the near trays. If you like enchiladas with beans and rice, the buffet would be ideal. They do have a decent salad bar. read more

The fajitas smelt amazing, but we had grabbed Mexican food earlier in the day so I inclined to try the barbecue plate. I ordered the brisket plate, which came with potato salad, pickles and pickled onions, a side of beans and white bread. The briskest serving I got was generous, with more than a ¼ pound of meat, but it seemed inconsistent compared to others in my group who also got the brisket plate and who seemed to have less meat than my plate. The potato salad was delicious and probably one of the better parts of the meal. The beans and brisket were ok but not great. The service was good and quick, considering our party size. They also had a patio, but it didn't have any seating so I'm wondering what that's about? Overall, it was an ok experience. This is probably the worst service and food available. I went in in a group of 13 and I literally had to buss my own table and take my orders to give to the wait staff that was running around like a chicken with out a head. Mind you they were not busy at all as only 3 other tables were occupied. Food was bland and cold , ribs were hard and flavorless, McDonald's burgers are better examples of what they offered along with their 8 fries that they put in the plate. Our food was all brought out a different times and soup made was reheated and had spoiled. The worst part is that they ran may card 2 times with 2 different amounts that I did not authorize and the manager is avoiding calls. The booths are nice and big enough for body and elbow room to move around. Our server was German (yea that is his first name ) He was super attentive the entire time. He gave us great suggestions about the menu and desserts. My mom appericated how he says "yes miss" instead of "yes ma'am". Made her fill younger again and cared for. My family of 10 went to Eduardo's for a birthday celebration. Upon entering, we were told they were having AC problems. We decided to stay and a portable unit was placed nearby. I told one of the employees about the birthday celebration. He said "Happy birthday!" and walked on. Maybe they don't do anything special for birthdays. A new waitress (who had an experienced waitress helping her) brought our chips (had to ask for more) and took our drink orders. Our iced tea was room temperature. We had to ask for ice several times. One person had a cracked glass that had to be replaced. We placed our orders which took some time because of 10 people-understandable. But during that time, our drink orders were not refilled unless we asked. We had to ask for ice again. Once our orders came out, several of them were incorrect. The birthday person didn't get the correct order and another person who ordered a taco, did not get his order at all. One container of corn and flour tortillas was placed in the middle of the table for 10 people. We had to ask for more. There were plenty of staff members standing around. The restaurant was not busy. Finally, the manager and another waitress started helping the new waitress. Eventually everyone got their orders, the food was good, but the presentation was lacking. The image on the menu did not match some of the orders received. Eduardo's is a restaurant full of ambience, plenty of staff, good food, but poor service. When the check came, there were only charges for the food and drinks. After the waitress returned with the credit card, 20% gratuity was added!!! There was NO compensation for the problems incurred and NO acknowledgement of the birthday. I would suggest professional development from management on down. I would recommend a pre-printed order form for the waitress since language may have played a part in the mix up of the orders. This would help the waitress and the chef. Have the eating utensils on the table when guests sit down. They should not have to ask for silverware. Until that happens, we will not be back. read more

The food is just OK. The table we were seated at was "clean" yet had cream and sugar in it. And the service is terrible. No refills if you don't ask for more drink, no pick up of plates until you're leaving. We hadn't gone here for a while for the same reason but decided to give it a try again, and we were not let down. The service was still terrible. Way to go Eduardo's!! We had fried mushrooms for an appetizer and shared a parrillada for one. Margarita was way too sweet, like all margarita mix and very little liquor. Fried mushrooms had no seasoning, completely bland. They were served with bland gravy. The parrillada was served on a plate and not an iron skillet. All the meats lacked seasoning. This came with one pork rib, sausage, fajita and chicken. Enough for two light eaters. It's easy to tell nothing is cooked over an open flame, no smoke flavor. This place is too expensive considering the poor quality of the food. They want to cater to a more upscale crowd but the only thing you get here is a higher price and a nice looking restaurant. read more
