I had an account for a year with Charles Schwab. I specifically asked to be able to do options trading. I am a bit of a conservative trader so it was a year later that I decided to buy stock options for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Low and behold, my account was at a level that didn't allow me to trade standard call and put options. Schwab has 4 different levels and my approval level didn't give me the ability to. I was told by multiple reps that I needed to fax in a new application with the higher level request. I didn't have access to a fax. On my own a couple days later, I discovered I could do this online. I requested the higher options level (for what* should* be allowed on a basic options account) kept calling every couple of days with each rep saying "it's in review but I will expedite it; it takes about 2 days". A week later I get an email survey so I put down my dissatisfaction. I get a call and I am finally approved for the level I was seeking, with an apology, and a choice between free trades and $50.. A few weeks later, last night, I decided to do an option trade. I am told I was not approved for that level and never was. I sent an email showing I was approved. Then I am told "you were approved but downgraded 2 days later". WHOA!!!! This is now 2 out of 2 times Schwab has tied my hands on a very time sensitive trade! I was told it was because of my dissatisfaction. Note, I was in Northern California and was dealing with the famous fire over here for a week so I was not "peaches and cream" during the first attempt to trade options. I was told it was "very unfortunate that happened to you but because of it you are going to be 'punished' for 6 months, when you call ask for a review again." Holy smokes! If they want to punish me for being upset, fine. But the fact that my account was downgraded a 2nd time and NO HEADS UP was given to let me know is just unbelievable. Imagine thinking you are set up to trade time sensitive options and to learn that your account was downgraded and you were never informed. That is NOT RIGHT!! Unless you are a perhaps a millionaire, you and your money means nothing to them.

They took a real interest in looking carefully at our financial situation to maximize anything that was applicable to us. Not only did they ask us for details about things that we wouldn't have even thought of, they offered suggestions about things that our previous preparer had not even taken into account. They knew that we were dissatisfied with our previous preparer so after they finished our first tax return with them they offered to review our previous year's tax returns for a (very) nominal fee. For the previous year we had paid, but after reviewing and taking into account everything they now knew about us they re-filed our previous year's tax return and got us a significant refund because of things that had been overlooked! We are very grateful for Nova and Tami and their expertise and caring attitude!

Only 2 advisors tied up with dramatic clients. Several folks in line. Theres no obvious place to sign in or ask for an advisor. I politely asked one of them how i could check-in. THE ADVISOR while seated with some customers, IMMEDIATELY got attitude and said gruffly "well , maybe , uuhhh WHAT DO U WANT WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR???" Ok i know its napa valley, but this guy dialed up the boujee, superiority, condescending , rudeness factor up to ELEVEN. I was looking for a vehicle loan, he said " we DONT do that kind of thing here, go to a credit union or something, gosh! " Asked about credit card advance, and he continued his tirade they couldnt do a cash advance on a credit card unless it was a CHASE card and basically i was scum if I didn't have one of their cards. I have an account here in good standing the last 5 years, decent credit and i will be taking that elsewhere. JP morgan and chase napa are horrible. I forgot to mention they only have one ATM outside that's always broken, jammed or empty. Inadequate and a few weekends ago every chase atm in the area. South napa atm, north napa, and st helena was wiped out and or broken. Their mgmt said SORRY people stuff junk or wrinked bills inside and jam the machine. What a mess. they should cut back on some of their execs and invest more in their branches, atms, and CUSTOMERS. Mgmt says they been asking to renovate for ten years no funds or resources available. Seriously they could cut just 1 of their execs private jet, luxury hotel trips and get it done for us common folks. But they dont care. Im going to bank elsewhere.

I found this confusing because they were asking for something that didn't exist. I asked to speak with the supervisor because the person helping me was clearly struggling to explain the policy but the supervisor wouldn't even come out to talk to me to explain better. By their logic they might as well close on the 30th and 31st of each month because they can't help you?!? I don't know the name of the goat tee guy with titties that helped me I believe it was Oscar but he really needs some more training and your supervisor needs to be reported for flat out ignoring a customer. If you didn't want to help me then fine say that and ask me to leave don't lie and pretend like it's policy that isn't even logical. You want to know what the reason is they wouldn't help me in the end?! It was because hey claimed I had a derogatory mark on my credit from 2006.... I have my updated credit report and check it frequently and no where does it state that I have any derogatory marks from 2006... they lie. I ask myself why would they just flat out lie don't they want business from people?! Doesn't make sense till you realize I'm a non Spanish speaking person going into a Spanish speaking business in a predominantly Hispanic area. Racism is alive and well not only between white people and other races but even between people of the same race just different backgrounds. I without a doubt feel targeted by this place and if I could report them to someone who cared I would. This business should be ashamed at the way it operates! LIAR Although they replied I stand by what I said. They lie to you and clearly they try to do it publicly by attempting to slander me with LIES.
