You will be messed around for weeks, delayed and ultimately disappointed. Working with this guy is the height of frustration. But, lets be fair and present a balanced review; Let me start with the positives - Called Barreto on a Wednesday, he picked up and arranged to meet me that night, at 530pm. He arrived at my house at 5pm, early, a good start! - Barreto started the work in good faith with no payment upfront. - The bid that Barreto came in with was at the upper level of competing bids. We needed a new ceiling hung and plaster applied over the sheetrock. Although he was coming in on the high end, he could start that saturday, so we agreed on the price, shook hands and ill see you saturday @ 8am - The two guys that arrived at 8am were pleasant enough. They laid down their protective equipment (they used my plastic and painters tape though!) for the floor and off they went cutting and installing the ceiling. After a quick break, they started plastering the ceiling. They started at 8am and they were done by 130pm, it looked good. excellent! That's were the positives ended. Lets get to the negatives and the real reason you should look elsewhere, anywhere, for a painting contractor. After the ceiling was installed, I spoke to Barreto about painting the ceiling, the walls, prepping and painting all the trim work. He gave me a price, it was good, the lowest bid that we have received. I gladly accepted his offer and he said when the plaster is dry his guys could come back and finish the job. This was October 8th. what happened between 8th October and 3rd November was 20+ text messages, phone calls, emails to Barreto, the majority which were ignored. All i was asking was "when can you come back to finish" and i would receive a response "i'm busy, sorry" "we are busy, we will get back to you" "we are busy until January, you can get another company to finish it if you like". JANUARY!!! WTH????? no one is that busy. After much thought it became obvious that he had underbid on the cost estimate for the painting and didnt want to commit to it. The painting, with all the sanding and prep work, was a two day job, easily. He was willing to offer one day of work for the quote he had bid. This wasnt going to work, he didnt want to do the work because he had underbid on two guys working 16 hours on a job and wouldnt make any money, and i wasnt willing to let him rush the job, compressing two days of work into one day. It would have looked terrible, rushed and unprofessional. Overall, i think Barreto and blessed painting are kinda shady. At one point he asked me to "leave your door open, you dont need to be there when we are painting" who in their right mind would leave 2-3 virtual strangers in their home for 8 hours? no one, i dont care who you are and how trusting you are. So here we are the job half finished, the ceiling has imperfections that i will now have to pay someone else to deal with and will have to contract another company to actually come and finish the paint job. I simply wouldnt hire Barreto or recommend him to anyone. There are literally dozens of painting contractors in the Boston area, i went to Blessed painting and Barreto because of the 4 star reviews on YELP. However, if you look closely, you'll see that no one has reviewed his company in over a year and i can only assume people are having the same bad experiences with him. Look elsewhere, trust me.

So when we made a list of projects we wanted to have completed before listing our home for sale we contacted Jayson. He came out and emailed us a quote for the bulk of the projects which included scraping and painting the outside trim and a couple of weathered ends of the house. We made him aware we were on a timeline. Although we thought his estimate was high for the work we were confident he would get the job done quickly and it would be a quality finish. Well...after weeks of promises to be there and times of someone showing up and working for an hour or two along with many texts and calls from me to see when things were going to get done over 5 weeks later the painting was complete! Mind you we have a small single story ranch. Jayson talks the talk...he'll promise you the moon on a platter...but he doesn't deliver! Although we had a few other things we wanted to have done we definitely will not be calling JMR.

This is the hardwood flooring guy you need!!…read more We hired Sye about 9 years ago when we first bought our house... we thought he did a great job even back then! We just hired him again to finish our job after the GC quit! (GC's floor guy butchered our upstairs and basically ruined our new floors) We thankfully got Sye to do our first floor... the difference is incredible! The floors looks like glass when the light hits them... so smooth to the touch! Sye had the difficult task of trying match our original floors and deal with our uneven framing from 1955. He was more run up to this task!! He has come a long way from when we first met him and has obviously focused on perfecting his trade!! Sye uses an extremely high quality sander that left our home with legitimately zero dust!! (The GC's guy required professional cleaners after he did our floors!) Sye also used very high quality stain and finishes... which can take a bit longer but are well worth the wait!! Sye was able to fit us in his schedule almost immediately (which was a huge help cause we are trying to refinance). His quoting software and brochures also simplify the process... so if you are unsure of what style or finish he can easily guide you! We are eager to work with Steve and his team again. Contractors like this are very hard to find. We had an old greenhouse/sun room on the side of our house that was crumbling away and needed to be torn down and completely replaced. This was a very sensitive job because it was going to open up the side of our house and affect it's curb appeal in a huge way. We couldn't be more pleased with how it all turned out. I come back after work , everything's picked up , all the junk that wasn't yard waste was put in construction bags in out front for the garbage to pick up , and he did the entire front yard too . He's surpassed anything I​​​ would have expected . I've been trying to get a rhododendron out of my front yard and I cut it down and it grows back . Cut it down and it grows back and it's ugly and my house deserves better . So many people said $2,000 $2,500 and so on . He's like I'll take it out I'll cover it with topsoil and then I'll throw grass seed in the topsoil , $600 . I haven't even left for work today and it was done beautifully . I couldn't recommend this person highly enough . I said you have to learn to do bathrooms next for god sakes , I need that too LOL .
