Two other floor people whined about the engineered wood and the prefinished hardwood and how much they didn't like working with it, and Juan was like, "Ok, yeah, let's fix it up for you!" He spent time with me to figure out the color, made adjustments in the plan when we realized the risers couldn't be salvaged, and was just fabulous to work with. I've already recommended him to a friend and will have him restore my grandmother's cedar chest. One floor refinisher was almost 2x Juan's price, and one was 1.5x more, and neither were very nice. When Tao first came by for a free estimate, he had great suggestions to make the space look larger and more open. We wanted to try to match the existing hardwood floors we already had as much as possible. Tao immediately knew what kind of floors to use and he even had samples on hand so that I could compare them with our current floors. Tao's estimate was very reasonable and comparable to other companies I reached out to. I went with Tao because of his background as a designer and I trusted he would make sure the floors look great! It ended up being a great decision because we are very happy with our new floors! The installation process was very smooth and even finished earlier than expected. The crew was very respectful of our home and did a great job keeping the house clean after their work was done. I was only 9/10 at the time. They were two of the nicest guys and I drove them crazy! "Doug is a bug in a rug". That's the phrase I used with Doug. And I think I'd go back and forth with saying who was the better worker of the two! They were both amazing workers and did a great job on the rugs and linoleum in our house! I last saw them I believe in 2004, after my Nana died and we called them to do her kitchen floor over before we rented her place out. Two of the nicest guys and great workers!
